The main problem is that there are way too many different browsers in common use for any software to consistantly work in all of them, coupled with Magnento (the base store soft) being infamously buggy to begin with and then dumping overly complicated sales, extremely short sales windows and way too much junk on screen at once on top of that. Really, the fact that the site works at all is a miracle, but I agree that quality of the overall shopping experience here has really dropped dramatically. There are so many things that a website designer can do these days that I'm afraid a lot of them never bother to ask the question SHOULD they do it? .
This sale got me an extra hair that I don't actually need. :D It will probably come in handy later. :D Still saved a few dollars on the card this way. And here I thought I would not be buying anything that I don't actually need. :D
Here's a request for the Daz folks:
Please let the first day items be extended as a "Still Featured" items for one additional day, so that we can use 4 rev-ups!
That would be really nice for those of us who did not buy Scott or Karen
We are in day 2 of the PA sale. Featured items are rev-able for 3 days. The day of their release plus 2 days as Still Featured. The items in today's Still Featured will be good for one more day.
Right, which means that tomorrow I can at most use 3 rev-ups on Day 1 items....
For every other item, I will have 4 rev-ups.
Thats why I asked to let Day one items go one more day
then the scott and karen buyers would have had no advantage over us peasants!
How do you figure that?
This way:
3DO, maybe I misunderstood you, but all the Featured items will be rev'able for 3 days. Not just Day one's.
Right, but look at the chart above, purchased rev-ups across the bottom.
...by day 4, I will have 4 rev-ups, and will continue to do so as long as I keep buying. BUT...on day 4......day 1 items are gone, so I can't buy them with 4 rev-ups.
So I asked if Day 1 items can be rev'able for one more day.
Hope that makes sense!
I think he's saying that for later items, it's possible to buy them at 64% off, but if you didn't buy Scott or Karen's Pro bundle, then today's items will no longer be buyable with rev-up discounts. It's a bummer if it works out that way, but it's only 6 items over the course of the month like that, and you could still get them at 58% off.
You mean the Easel one yesterday that said "free" when I added it to my shopping cart, but suddenly acquired a $6 price every time I tried to check out with it?
It should still be free - try logging out and logging back in.
Heads' up; there is a discount on gift cards. If you have 4 revs, you can get 12% off. I've been waiting for this for MONTHS.
Only goes for another hour (at this writing).
I must agree
Ok, I want understand this sale.
Day 1 (yesterday): All in promo was paid at 60%, I could buy one product with $x price and get it for $0.6*x. Suppose I bought Fire Hazard, and reserve New Vision Bedroom for the next day, day 2, in case of none of the new stuff will be ok. If a product in day 2 is good to buy, Can I reserve New vision for day 3 to get rev up point in case day 3 will be a bad day?
Day 2 (Today): All in promo is paid at 54%. I could want five products, suppose I buy Elatha Sandals, and reserve the others four for Day 3 (I still don't know if day 3 can be covered with New Vision Bedroom) and Day 4. If day 1 reserved doesn't work for day 3, at least I can cover Day 3, and I can change my opinion about buy or not buy the last two products if there are better things. No good for PAs.
Day 3 (Tomorrow): All in promo will be paid at 48% or 49%. In theory, rev up for this day is covered. I need buy New Vision Bedroom already!, If I still want it. If this day 1 stuff still is useful for rev up, I can reserve all Day 2 and Day 3 stuff for Day 4.
Day 4 (next 1): All in promo will be paid at 43%. I need buy Day 2 stuff already! If Day 2 stuff still are useful for rev up, I can reserve Day 3 and Day 4 stuff for Day 5.
Day 5 (next 2): All in promo will be paid at 39% or 40%. I need buy Day 3 stuff already! If Day 3 stuff still are useful for rev up, I can reserve Day 4 and Day 5 stuff for Day 6. Final of accumulative rev up.
Day N (with N = 6 and beyond): All in promo will be paid at 39% or 40%. I need buy Day 4 (Day N-2) stuff already! If Day 4 (Day N-2) stuff still are useful for maintain rev up, I can reserve only two Day 5 (Day N-1) stuff for Day 6 (Day N+1) and Day 7 (Day N+2), ie, if there are K Day 5 (Day N-1) stuff, K-2 can be purchased in Day 6 (Day N) without waiting.
Have this sale final Catch up?
I'm confused by your term "all in promo".
If you have no revs going into the sale, then you get a rev for each thing you buy in the green section. That raises your "extra discount". If you have revs already (you bought Scott or Karen before the sale), then you can "keep" your revs by making a purchase each day.
So far, not all of the things for sale in the green section have been expensive. In fact, only the scenes/kits have a higher price, because they have a lot of complexity and parts. Yesterday, one of the green items was even free! Today, one of them is only $3.00. Now I have 4 revs already, so mine might be a bit cheaper than yours. But still, to keep or gain revs, you don't have to spend a lot of money. If there really is nothing you want on a given day, then don't buy. Loss of a rev will not make you completely lose all discounts! Always do what is right for you.
Well, like a lot of people, I didn't like the look of this sale when I first saw it. But, more by accident than design, DAz seem to be making it worthwhile.
My view on Daz sales is that they have to be better than par to make them worthwhile. It's been pretty well established over the last 12 months that V4/M4 products are frequently discounted by 80% - so I won't pay more than that for them. We've had a couple of 70% Genesis sales and a 60% G2 sale recently - so that's the baseline for those figures. Everything else can be bought at 50% off if you're willing to wait.
So a sale where things are only 40% off looks pretty lacklustre.
But then they have a freebie on day 1 that gains you a rev, and a cheap hair on day two that gains you another - and the base percentage rises to 52% off. Now, so long as I can find things among the new(ish) releases that I like, it's worth buying them now. I think I might buy quite a lot of stuff this month - but I wouldn't have bought anything without the leg-up to two revs to make it sensible to do so.
Thanks for answer.
All in promo are = New featured (green) + Still featured (blue), I know the others (gray) are not valid to get points.
Unfortunately, I doubt this could be done. The advantage was clearly to those who bought the Scott and/or Karen pro bundles, but they did also tell everyone there would be an advantage.
just to comment on the folks saying you have to buy daily to keep the discount going, that isn't new. In the past we had all or nothing scenarios where if we didn't buy each day the entire benefit was lost. granted back then it didn't stack, or rev up. But point remains people would buy stuff hoping to save the next day to lose it all since the following day was bunk.
i wasn't around for this last year, so can't speak for that. And while I dont love this new system, it's not completely unfamiliar
Only buy what you really want. If it happens to lead to an addtional discount, think of it as a bonus.
Thats OK, I don't blame you....I blame @larsmidnatt for bringing that point up. LOL (those stinkers also get 12% gift cards)
I was too undecided to spend on gift cards for only a 6% discount.
Tomorrow will be the make or break day for me. Without that last rev-up, its $20 higher (total) than I was hoping...
Don't feel bad. I decided that checking my bank account balance would be the responsible thing to do before buying a $400 gift card (for only $358).
It was. I had enough for the mortgage, a couple of credit cards, and utilities, and only a couple hundred more, so I had to hold off on gift card. I've got plenty of funds in another account, but don't want to dip into that one unless it's really an emergency. So no gift card right now, but I feel good about the month's finances.
Sounds 'bout right! ;-)
Hah, food is easy compared to some of the other stuff like the last time I had the red light on the dashboard turned off.
ugh...this sale. I forgot it said that revs are earned once per day. I made 2 purchaes and lost out on another rev by not purchasing the item tomorrow. Is this correct? Why make such a complicated sale?
So that people can still reach the top tier buying only a few items.
back in the day we would get our sustenance from the glow of CRT monitors while working on art. too bad they took that away from us.
Except yer lookng at this the wrong way. The ONLY reason items are non returnable is to prevent people for abusing the system for the extra discount. I'm pretty sure if there was a truly horrendious issue making an item unseable they'd make an exception.
I always see folks fixate on negatives when what they should be looking at is why it has to happen at all. If we could trust people to act like responsible honest adults then stipulations like that wouldnt even occur. Punishing DAZ for trying to protect themselves is raher silly.
