Liked the old logo better.  The new one does not really make sense to me.

The persistent submenu is super annoying... I never use the submenu, and *always* need the main menu available.

    - In the forum, the submenu is just a breadcrumb.
    - In the Shop, it's an unpredictable russian roulette of categories.
    - In Help, it literally has nothing but a scroll to top... but if you go here and click on Help in the submenu, it 404 errors out: http://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us/

I far more frequently need to switch between SHOP, Cart, Account, Forums, Galleries and Help... now it's buried when you scroll down.

Please give us a persistent main menu... and bury the useless submenu.

I found the logo cool and pleasant to look at a reasonable size, but not sure it's really that functional. At a small size, it can`t be distinguished. I doubt someone looking at it for the first time at a small size can make out what it`s supossed to be, and a logo that fails to comunicate is not a good logo. It has to be more than a pretty image, it has to be tested on different sizes and color combinations. If the site has to be bright white because the logo looks better on it, it tells me something`s not quite right.

I don`t like it`s Daz now instead of DAZ, but I asume they had their reasons.

I  don't have a problem with the current color scheme - but I can see why other people don't like it and think there should be a choice. As for this floating submenu - I don't need it, I don't use it - and I'm about to see if Adblock Plus can make it go away.

There seem to be a problem with the Coupon Code field and button in the cart being irresponsive most of the time, when using IE11. I did manage to apply the Twitter code after a lot of tries though.

Then I tried the FB code on another order, I finally managed to enter it, but no luck with getting the button to work here, so I had to give up on that one.

No problems in Chrome it seems.

Yes, a fish to me, too. I can't see the hand. Only a face and a fish.

Well, the font is hard for me to read. I have vision problems and it is too small for me. I find myself squinting to read this smaller font. That in combination with the whiteness makes forum reading less fun.

I think the logo looks like gay-pride vicky, although the colors are not quite the rainbow of the pride flag.

In most browsers you can adjust the page/text size with ctrl + scrollwheel / +- keys.

Yeah, I know, but, why should I have to? The forum size was fine for me before.

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,343

Yea, probably smaller default font as that works better on smaller devices.   Just us your browsers Zoom function, most are set up to remember site's independently.  I know Cyberfox does (64 bit Firefox).

  • I literally had to stop and close then cover my eyes so they could readjust, this bright white/ gray color is just too much for me. I'm getting a headache.

I am sorry, I know I have posted several times about this and even dropped a support request for it but this new design has made teh site absolutely unusable for me. Hey Daz, is this the kind of experience you want for your users/ customers because this is what some default settings with 3rd party plugins look like. Is this what you had in mind? Unfortunately, just like someone else mentioned earlier, the plugins can not differentiate between teh site and teh forums, so it only works in teh shop. Guess I wont be using teh forums after 5pm from now on.

All these workarounds are great except DAZ is a business and and I do not spend gobs of money here to be told that I need to use third party browser plugins to view the site so I can see the promos without being blinded. This new theme might be great for my wallet -- it's so annoying it really will cut down on my purchases. Leave it as white only?? They should ask the peoiple making that decision if they are willing to take the lost revenue from trom their (dis)respective paychecks. Off to empty my cart....

Last thing I will mention for now. I tried Color That Site and did not like it, but Color Transform for FF, I LOVE! Especially the 4th theme on the bottom row. It reminds me of a mix between old school Carrara and Hexagon... wink AND it works through the entire site! You just have to click on the little down arrow/ eye icon to save it.

    From support:

I apologize for any inconvenience. With the new logo design, the web developers thought it best to leave the website design on the white background. We are passing along your feedback to the website developer team.

I am very tempted to start returning items to drive the point home.

I didn't like the old logo, and I am not very enthusiastic about the new. Seems as if Daz/DAZ is not too lucky with its logos. Anyway, at least I like the colours of the new one.

  • Add me to the list of growing users who prefer the dark theme. Please DAZ, don't offer us something, then rip the rug out from under us. That's not cool. And the tiny logo looks like a psychadelic hand having trouble to picking up a coin. Well, now I'm off to whip up a Stylebot dark theme.

Cool.  Could you do one for me, with Pale lavender text against the same colour background, then it would almost echo my signature colours of lavender and teal.

What is even more disturbing is why someone thinks thtat a logo that only looks good on white at alarge size is even a good idea. I asked to have my feedback sent to the CEO because I have no confidence the people that gave zero consideration to customers (because ultumately this is about how DAZ treats its customers) will listen to us now. But the CEO had to approve this too -- or at least approve the dysfunctional logo. They should have done this around late March so they could claim it was an early April Fool's joke when it backfired. I feel bad for most of the peoiple at DAZ, the PAs, etc. because most of them probably know what a boneheaded decion the new logo is. I mean, it looks silly at best as a small symbol on the DAZ Orginal items. The previous logo at least looked great in that situation. The new one doesn't scale down, is too hit or miss -- I get the idea of "3D" combined as hair and a head, in color like an oil brush but it's too complicated to be functional. If they want to keeo it then they need to come up with something that works as a symbol.  And what about other websites -- not everyone tht may want to use the logo in an article about DAZ, to link back to DAZ, etc. is going to have a snowblind bright white background. Not even for print. What about sites like dA that DAZ my want to repsent themsleves on that have diffreent color schemes such as dA, cgsociety.org, conceptart.org, and atastart.net. In fact, it sees like the ones that have a strong photography  or physical media sections are more likely to favor white (behance.net, piviv.net) or paler backgrounds (dA). It's scary how poorly thought thtrough this new logo is. Especailly when DAZ is looking to foray into gaming in a much more serious way (maybe all the good benading talent went to the morph3d division. Let's hope so, because mistakes like this (poorly thought out logo, zero consideraton for customers who you know like dark because your flagship software product includes a Darkside theme that most advanced users use) can really hurt when trying to move into newer markets. They're not the kings of gaming like they are for the 2D output 3D hobby market.

Last time I checked, paper is white(ish). Never understood the black background fetishism. If the image looks too bright, calibrate correctly yor monitors.

Last time I checked, paper is white(ish). Never understood the black background fetishism. If the image looks too bright, calibrate correctly yor monitors

Bright white is bright white. There is nothing to calibrate. Neutral and darker tones are used because it is a scientific fact that looking at light generating displays causes eye strain and darker colors obviosuly mean less light. That's why Amamzon createed the "electionic paper" Kindles. If thre was no eyestrain, there would little reason to own a Kindle and even less of one for Amazon and others to spend the money on research to improve that technology. If you do not mind white, fine, that's one thing. But there is no reason to call it a fetish when science isupports usiing mid-tone to darker colors.  As a side note, genreally speaking, sans-serif fonts are easier to read on electonic displays but serif ones are easier to read when printed.  Printed paper and electonic displays are not the same -- e.g. a heet of of bright white glossy apapewr does not light my room up at night like my monitor does.

And regardless, DAZ's logoo willend up on some site that does not use white for the background, possibly even in print, so the idea of sticking with white is short sighted. Not to mention that the log is on black inthe top left on the main menu bar. So even the white background argmuent makes no sense. Can't beleive I just realized that!
