No, like the proverbial cat, they will come back.
Probably those sneaky little Greys.
But they may be a bit worse for wear or neutered. As others have noted, it's a bit much to think that these have been pulled to fix technical problems or upgrade them, as DAZ has never had a problem letting product with major issues sit in the store while fixes may or may not be worked out. See the YT Justin & Julie teeth problem for reference, or, for that matter, PowerPose inside Studio itself. The only thing that would really require pulling the product is redoing the promotional images.
Why not?
Remember, G2F is the last generation that works with Poser or Carrara, and it's the last generation that can use the exiting 1,200 G2, G1, and V4 skins. Don't forget, at the moment, G3F has 15 characters, and in my opinion, Skyler is the only one that is a "keeper". The ecosystem still belongs to G2 and G1, with everything from teens to Freak, from Creature Creator to Growing Up. G3 is something to watch, not something to use.
There are still PAs releasing new G2F characters and clothing. We had a G2F bikini Friday, and outfit and a set of shaders Thursday. Heck, there's a lot of PAs still releasing V4 characters and outfits. We had one early last week. ;)
As I said: they're off at boarding school someplace.
Maybe it's like The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe -- they've been sent to live with distant relations in the countryside until the Blitz is over?
...I wish we could get some "official" word as to what is going on. This is very irregular as I've never seen a figure yanked form the store with no explanation.
I know that PA's sometimes pull items temporarily to revise or permanently to "vault" them (but they usually say they are doing so up front).

It's not Genesis 2 Female / Male that were pulled from the store, it's just a few characters. Genesis 3 is clearly where DAZ' focus lies these days, so I doubt some old characters are a top priority for them. Especially if these characters mean some kind of trouble for DAZ, which seems to be likely given that they were actually pulled from the store, not just updated behind the scenes.
But it's not "just a few characters". It's a few dozen. There's at least 16 characters based on Josie. 10 on Belle. 5 on Brodie. 8 on Jayden. A dozen PAs (especially Fred Winkler, Sabby, Silver, and Forbidden Whispers) now have product that's been renderd unsellable. Not to mention the dozens of outfits that don't really look like grown-up clothes. Dozens (literally) of pose and expression packs. Large, expensive sets like the attic bedroom that don't look right if you fill them with adults. Skin and morph merchant resources.
And if there's "some kind of trouble for DAZ", then that could also mean "some kind of trouble" for anyone who has already used these characters in a project. It's obviously not "trouble" relating to the character's ages, as Zev0's "Growing Up" products push the envelope much harder than Josie, Jayden, Belle, or Brodie ever did, and they had no problem with 3D Universe's Skyler. So, what is it? IP trouble? Clebrity likeness trouble?
I find the lack of communication from DAZ is a bigger problem than the sudden disappearance of the characters.

Not to worry, these are all great characters and are just taking a (very) temporary break. We have been reviewing our artwork recently, and felt that showing teen caracters in undergarments and bikini's was less tasteful that we felt we should be (I know... I know... there are other examples some will throw out of other areas that need improvement as well.. But every great journey starts with first steps). We pulled these down and are updating the artwork. They should be back up in a week or so, with no changes other than just the promo artwork. Apologies if this rattled some people... We're just trying to be the best us :)
Sheesh...if that's ALL it was, SAY SOMETHING when you do it! Don't leave everyone hanging...keeping this kind of info in house or 'secret' is beyond stupid.

Why didn't you just leave the images where the teens are decently dressed, and removed the rest? There's plenty of items in thes hop that come with just one or two images....
Pulling them from the shop for change of renders seems a bit like overkill.

but the conspiracy stuff was just getting good :( The villagers were just getting the pitchforks and torches ready
I preferred all the jokey stuff, about how difficult it was to keep teens in line, and had they gone on a gap year, or were they just hiding in their bedrooms playing computer games etc etc.

I'm getting old, I guess, becaue I looked at their faces before I bought them; the promo I remember for Belle she was wearing long sleeves. I Googled some of the Belle underwear promo images, and I can see why someone might think a couple of them inappropriate for a teen figure. Josie was obviously in a swimsuit, though.
However, I don't understand why they couldn't simply slip in some new promo pics. The promos for the Amazing Skins for Belle and Brodie (which are still in the Store) were redone; in one of the original ones, Belle had her arms around a shirtless Brodie, who looked like he was about to unbutton his pants.
The Ultimate Merchant Resource Skin Texture Kit for Teen Jayden has promos more revealing than Jayden's original promo in boxer shorts.
The main thing is that while the base shapes for Belle, Brodie, Josie and Jayden are MIA all the the addons for them are still in store.. So if you are going to pull a series of characters you pull everything related to them as well.. And that being said there must be something going on just no idea what it is..
But the other interesting thing is if it is to do with the age or whatever of Belle, Brodie, Josie and Jayden then YT Julie and Justin would of been pulled as well.. But yes it would be nice to know what is going on and to alay some of the concerns we have of the current situation..

What is interesting in all of this is as far as I knew there were never any questionable promo pics.. Since they are gone now we will never know if there were but I spose it is better to be safe than sorry..
They were all Thorne characters (as is Giselle). But they were buyouts so far as I understand it, so it would be up to DAZ.
And I haven't noticed any of Thorne's other characters disappearing from the store. Anyone?
