Well, that's interesting. And I just took a look at my saved copy of the G2F Starter Essentials and it's 368mb, but in My Account it's showing as 525mb. I think I'll redownload that and see if anything new has appeared.
No, the 525 MB one was the last update...back in May.

Hmm. I remember that they stuck the Starter Essentials in some of the Pro Bundles at first to make it seem like they had more in them, but the only reason I can think of for them to actually be adding them to the bases would be if DAZ is prepping for a time in the near future when the G2F starter essentials don't automatically come free. That kind of makes sense, in the same way that they stopped giving V4 away in the base software when they started pushing Genesis. Why keep giving away the product that's going to directly compete with the new product you're pushing? This sounds as though they're setting it up so that, eventually, new people coming into the hobby will have to buy at least one G2 figure in order to use any of them. Anyone want to start taking bets on whether DS5 will only come with the G3 bases?

Except that they're not doing that with any of the Genesis 1 figures. And most of these speculated updates don't actually require the character to be taken out of the store... except maybe the genitals one.
And the speculation continues. At this rate, we should reach page 99 by next Thursday or so!
So what...nobody believes Matty? I do. They probably had some database breakage and some relationships got dropped. Recovery takes time. But I guess we'll see. Meanwhile, on toward page 99!
I suspect aliens, Elvis, or the coverup of a black hole that is slowly eating into the portion of the space-time continum occupied by that portion of the DAZ catalog. Maybe even a combination of all those factors.

Yeah is very strange, the names still show up in the search but thats it wonder what it up.. Just glad I got what I wanted before this, just be nice to know what it going on as heard not a peep from them on this matter..
They'll be back, probably, eventually. Did anyone else notice that they left as school got started? Maybe we should keep our eyes out for them around Christmas holidays--- and tell 'em "Ciao" on 3 January, just in case.

Well, to add...there was an update to G2F Essentials (at least) that I installed two days ago. The package date was August 8. I don't remember seeing anything for the males though.
However the installed size was only 559.5.

I had them in my wishlist and they are gone from there as well. Well Belle and Brodie, I have the others. I don't care about gens I don't do nudes.

Thankfully I have them and Josie, as the story I am working on involves a number of young characters as well as them at different ages in flashbacks. Along with Julie and Justin 5, I have afairly nice 'teen gene pool" to work with.
I really do hope they reappear and it was due to some kind of update.
Not to sound too cynical...I think they were pulled so they don't show up in the sale that is now going on...
Not that I'm one to dispel cynisism, but like Aiko 6, Lee, Giselle aren't included in the sale, and they're still in the store..
Though I frankly don't believe the "maintenence" line... These aren't cars that need to be put in the shop for repairs. In software, if you're fixing or changing something, you just do it offline and then upload the new version.
(On a side note, this forum structure breaks the mac's built in spell checker, so if you're an awful speller, you can't get suggestions..and they didn't think "hey, as long as we're using some custom bs system, maybe we should make sure words that will be used a lot won't ping as wrong... like AIKO!)

There is a forum spellchecker, it's on the tool bar above the comment panel, it's the icon that says abc with a tick, and you can either have it as SCAYT or check the whole post after finishing it
Yes..I referred to the forum spellchecker, which DOESN'T appear to offer suggestions in SCAYT...oh wait, I see how it works...you right click on the word.. BUT DON'T HIGHLIGHT THE WORD, then it won't work.
Sorry, that's my bad assuming any kind of intuitive interface. And as I said, maybe someone who has access to it's built in dictionary, should add some words that get used, like iray or aiko.
...I have been but each new time I log into the forums, they get flagged again. However, a number of misspellings (like for the word "the") somehow did get saved to the main dictionary and those don't get flagged. Really odd.
I wish there was an option to use your own browser's spell check instead of WebSpellChecker.net. In FF my personal dictionary works just fine while the one I have here doesn't seem to have any effect.
...and I don't have to turn it on for each post I write.

Belle and Brodie may use their own proprietary UVs, but all 8 characters based on Belle (Clair, December, FW Jennie HD, FWSA Gingersnap HD, Malia, Rochella, SASE Elize, Zahara) use G2F or V5 UVs. All 4 characters based on Brodie (FW Jake HD, FWSA Peppermint HD, Jayce, Ryk) use G2M or M5 UVs. Do any of those 12 skins look worse than the 2 based on the unique UVs? No?
Now, think about this. V5 doesn't look anything like Belle, but the painting process is agnostic to that, because skew is minimum. The quads keep approzimately their same aspects, only varying by a few percent, not enough to cause substantial smear in interpolation. You have to get close to 2:1 before it becomes a problem.
Unique UVs are BS.
Look at Bethany 7, Eva 7, and Victoria 7. They have proprietary UVs, but all 8 derived characters use G3F, and some of those skins are better (less oddly stretched, etc) than the skins on the proprietary UVs. And that's eveh taking into consideration that Bethany 7 is an "extreme" body type.
DAZ, time to end the silliness.
Well it's possible that there is some sort of legal issue and these characters had to disappear from the store right away until whatever is to be fixed can be fixed.
Anyway, they are previous generation characters, so for now I don't expect them to return.
