This entire thread has been immensely entertaining.
There is absolutely no need whatsoever to apologise, there was nothing wrong at all with the original images; I find it depressing that Daz is possibly having to pander to prudish busy bodies with nothing better to do than 'take offence'. The human body is a beautiful creation not something to be disgusted about :(
Vive La France!
I fully expect this post to be removed by the moderators for being 'too controversial btw.
I am half expecting the teens to reappear with promos showing them all dressed in full body burkas with only the eyes showing. New purchasers will wonder what the skin textures/body shapes look like, and sales with plunge as a result. DAZ will then conclude that teens do not sell, but at least no one will be offended!
I think this risque and dangerous "underwear culture" can be traced back to Tom Cruise's underwear dancing in the movie "Risky Business". It was right about then that young people started wearing sweat pants to school, and they weren't even on the track team nor in the mob, for shame, for shame!
We have to reverse course before it's too late, "for the children!"
I would like to join the chorus and say that - in my opinion - there was nothing wrong with the promos of V3Digitimes or any other promos for the teen characters. The skin textures are a major, if not THE major, part of the character and people need to see some of it to make an informed decision whether or not to buy it.
No one who has ever been to beach or a swimming pool could find anything offensive in those promos. So what I'm saying is that we need more beaches and more swimming pools.
Whoohoo!
Day 18.
Well, someone had to say it.
Ask aliens for feedback.
An adult can be a teen you know? At least in the US, Canada, UK, various European countries and maybe other countries too
18+ before even considered to be adult in the UK
Yup. Eight "teen".
Then nine "teen".
...used to be 18 was "adult" for everything back in Wisconsin (beer, wine, booze, signing contracts, taking out loans, and voting).
And yet you have to pay adult prices at movies, even though you can't get into adult movies. It's so unfair.
Unless you have a theater nearby that has a bargin night...then everybody is the same price.
HU: They're back in the store, and showing as part of the Genesis 2 Sale, but for me they are still showing at full price (not even PC discount) - perhaps they're only half-way in as yet...
Belle is now wearing a one-piece swimsuit instead of the bikini, maybe other changes, but nothing I noticed.
I find it kind of funny that they are back...just in time for a) current sale, b) big September sale and c) the one freebie in this months DSCreative needs Belle...
weird. Boys are back but thread's title is not changing
Did happen to find the offending pic as it is still floating around out there and well the original pic was of Belle in a bra and panties which is why she got pulled not sure why Josie, Brodie or Jayden were pulled who knows.. What is even more interesting is that there were two other totally useable promo pics of Belle that were decent that could have been used but will never know..
As I mentioned in another thread, Josie swapped a two piece bikini for a 1 piece swimsuit, Belle swapped bra and panties for a 1 piece swimsuit, Jayden and Brodie swapped their boxer shorts for knee length shorts. In all other respects the promos are identical, ie poses etc.
The funny thing is that products like http://www.daz3d.com/lisa-texture-for-teen-josie-6 or http://www.daz3d.com/clair-for-belle-6 still show Josie and Belle in a string bikini, so I'm not really sure what they've accomplished here
They no longer appear on the front pages of the store wearing them, they are now secondary promo pics on product pages.
I too saw nothing wrong with the original pictures.
It was just normal underwear, nothing suggestive.
Belle looks like a young lady now. much more believable as a young teen
comparing to the Mil3 Young Teens promo
those were young teens ? HAH. The girl looks like she could be a 40 year old retired actress.(meaning she doesn't look bad, she's just no spring chicken) The guy is anywhere from 16-30. Young teens, not so much.
thanks for the flashback Misty. I missed most of Mil3. cept Aiko3.
So now you know why the Gen 4 fans were so upset that they didn't get a Teen 4 generation.
YT 3rd gen only looked good with the character packages added really, not as the base figure.
There some cute Lauras. Luke didn't get the love lol poor dude.
Love for Matt and Maddie
Young teen? Glad you told me, otherwise she looks was older. Well she looks older anyway, but I think you'll all take my meaning.
in real life, young girls trowel on the makeup, they look 30.
she' has no makeup on though!
...yeah one of them here, who spent months and months as well as lots of money for character morphs to use as workarounds. Shortly before Daz 4.0 and Genesis, Steph 4 came along which finally made it easier to do a viable Gen 4 teen/preteen due to her smaller physique, different body shapes, and the NPMs which allowed you to dial the chest flat with no distortion. Clothing fits could be an issue though if you didn't have the separate "Unimesh" fit packs. Thankfully there was the Morph Follower in 3.1 which helped a bit.
Never liked the Gen 3 teens as they looked to "mature", though some of the character morphs for the pre teens looked pretty good. One of the other issues was not enough clothing.content as there was no "autofit" back then and we had to rely on third party fit conversion tools which were often hit or miss.
