Nah, young girls dont - teenagers do. I take a young girl to be no older than five or six; maybe at a stretch up to eight, and certainly no older than twelve.
Yep. Character packages, and a lot - and I do mean a LOT LOT LOT - of twisting dials and morphing (magnets, ouy vey!) by hand... I used them (and still do at times) extensively, but to me Larua and Luke always "felt" more like scaled down Steph3 and David3's. Not sure why that was; maybe it was just the body proportions and shapes of their faces, but they always came across to me as miniature SP3/D3's. Their body morphs and head morphs were severely lacking, too (though thankfully nowhere near to the level that the K4 morphs were lacking!), which led me to an insanely high over-use of magnets and hair pulling to get what I wanted out of them.
And frankly, to be honest - after what I saw of the K4, I'm actually kind of glad they didn't bother with a Gen4 teen, and it probably would have been more merciful if they hadn't even bothered with the Kids4 at all. The K4 was horrible - I actually have no words for how offended I was when I saw what was done (and more importantly what was NOT bothered to be done) with that figure. Given how they treated the K4, I sure as heck didn't want to think about what they might have done to a Gen4 Teen figure.
I stayed with the Gen3 kids (preschoolers and young teens) right up until Genesis 1 came around. I do have the Gen5 and Gen6 teens, but the Gen6 only gets used very rarely, mostly because I rarely use anything newer than Genesis 1 these days.
However - this is one American who will say - IMO, Daz was just covering their behinds because of some people who spend their time looking for things to sue over. I saw the original promos for these teens, and saw absolutely nothing wrong with it. Swimwear is more revealing than normal underwear for crying out loud, and frankly, I need to SEE the SKIN. I can't tell you how many characters I have passed up or not purchased because of the skin, or because I couldn't SEE the skin adequately in the promos.
It is what it is - there are good reasons for people to be touchy on the topic, I get it - but there is 'alert/aware' and then there is 'overkill'. And when you're talking about 3D figures where the artists are going to shell out a large amount of real cash to obtain the mesh and skins, they need to be able to see just what they're actually buying - and I just... yeah, anyway, I will stop there.
I saw nothing wrong with the original promos, but I understand Daz having to cover their tracks to ensure they don't run afoul of lawsuits or other legal issues.
OMG!!! I JUST SAW FOUR TEEN BASES WITH THE NUMBER "6" NEXT TO THEIR NAMES AND SAW THAT EACH ONE WAS WEARING EITHER BATHING SUITS OR LONG SHORTS!!! I'M OFFENDED BY THE OPPRESSIVE PRESENTATION OF THESE YOUTHS AND I DEMAND SOMETHING BE DONE ABOUT IT IMMEDIATELY!!!
Two people can play this game... :)
Weird, I stopped getting notifications for some reason.
Thanx to the Mods for updating it...
