No typo. When I went to the hair sale page, I had the hide items I own checked. At the bottom of the page, both the Mooch Tail Pro and Ultimate Changing Ponytail (upgrade from VCP) were showing. I knew that I had purchased both those items some years ago in one of the old PC bundle sales. Going to the product pages, they do not show as purchased. However, they are in my product library with inactive in parenthesis. I then put inactive in the product library filter. I ended up with a list of inactive products. A large number of them have double listings. One is the product without inactive and one lists the product as inactive.
The majority of the products with double listings have links to their product pages (most inactive products do not have links to their product pages or product pages in the store). For whatever reason, the products are listed as inactive despite the fact that they are part of the sale.
I like the new features but have some issues with the design.
1. It’s too large (adjusting zoom w/ ctrl + mouse wheel helps a little with this but is not ideal).
2. It’s too slow to navigate without the drop down menus.
3. “What’s included & Features” looks really sloppy & hard to read now. 1 column might be better, maybe put the details on the left & features on the right? It especially looks bad when indenting does not all show on 1 line.
I’m not a fan of the Windows 8 / mobile inspired design. I don’t shop from a mobile device & feel interfaces designed like this are not ideal for a standard display.
My display is 1920 wide & I browse with the window exactly half the width by dragging it to the edge. The site should fit nicely by default with this setup but it does not. I understand a site can’t be design for every situation but I thought my setup was fairly standard, I could be wrong.
I think it's an epidemic. Some unrelated sites I go to have also had "redesigns" that really mess up browsing from a plain old desktop computer. The opinion that it's due to mobile devices already been stated. I think I know what's behind it. On a mobile device, there is no right mouse button. You also can't use cascading menus very well because there's no click and hold or click and drag. To be "standardizing" on these mobile limitations when your primary customer base is working from machines with a real keyboard/mouse is a bad move, I think we agree. The entire tech marketplace is shifting to devices that are designed for consumers of content, not producers of content. Naturally, people who pay to have a site developed are only going to pay for one rather than have to maintain two. I just confirmed that one of my local news sites deleted their "m" version and they use the same web address and interface from phone or computer. It's an epidemic, I tell you.
Why are old site bugs being introduced to this new site since it went live? Since the weekend, I have had problems staying logged in to the store, put something into my cart yesterday that isn't there today - and I have added 3 more things since logging in today - still isn't there. The UI is awful enough without having to find things a second time because they have disappeared from my cart.
how do i make a store url link remember my filters?
?
Hide Items I Own = no
Only Show pc = yes
?
Hide Items I Own = no
Figure = g2m
thanks :)
Merging with the main New Store thread
Everytime I go to check out( does not matter what is in my cart) it goes to a new screen and says:
Shopping Cart is Empty
You have no items in your shopping cart.
I have Cleared history/cache in IE and re-logged in
Any suggestions?
If you apply normal filters / sorts, and click the first item in the list, when you go back you should get a URL that looks like this:
http://www.daz3d.com/shop#index=0&filter_compat_figures=Genesis 2 Male&filtered=1
Unfortunately, the "Hide Items I Own" and "Only Show PC" are stored in your browser's local storage so we don't use them as part of the URL because they would conflict with that setting. The good news is this setting should stick with you until you close your browser window so you won't have to set it every time.
it makes me set it every single time :blank:
likewise, if I look at the product and then back up it looks like it stayed the same in terms of the box being checkmarked but it reverts to hiding them.
I have to switch theme to dark every time I log in
would be nice if the shop would remember that
More login weirdness
I was logged on on my pc, moved to my laptop and the three items I'd let in the cart weren't there - it said empty. Moved over the BLUE with a tick icon and the login box dropped down. So I wasn't logged in though the page said I was.
...it gets even weirder.
OK it all started Friday when I clicked a link to a thread in a notification email, I discovered I was not logged in. Logging in from the thread which usually worked didn't as it took me to my account page and not back to the thread like it used to. When I clicked on the link in email again to get back to where I was in the thread I would would find myself logged out. So I go to the tab with the main store site ( I have a second tab with the Daz site on it saved in my FF start up) log in, then go back and click on the link to the thread in the email again, only to once again find I'm logged out. So it came down to having to manually navigate from my account page to the latest post the email linked to (basically rendering the links in the emails useless).
Now before anyone even mentions it, I clear my cache cookies on routine basis (even have a special button in FF to click that does so)
Eventually I discovered a workaround, in that if I logged in on the home page first then clicked the email link to the thread, I'd be logged in on the forums. OK, a bit of a bother, but better than having to find the post from my account page.
So, yesterday, I open the tab with the Daz site on it, click on the use icon to log in as per my "new" sign in SOP only to find neither the username or password field is populated. I refresh the page, nothing. I close FF, reopen it, nothing. I close FF reboot my system open everything back up, still nothing. Entering just my username did not auto-populate the password field either (as it does on some other sites). Wonderful, being dyslexic and that it's been a while since I set the password , I do not remember it. That is why I clicked the little drop down in FF so the browser would store it.
Frustrated, I give up and go back to my emails to see Daz promo email. I open it to see what the new deals are, see something I like and click on it. go to put into in the cart, but then stop, remembering I wasn't logged in. So, out of reflex, I click on the icon to get the log in drop down and lordy, lordy, guess what? The username and password fields are populated. I go back to the main Daz store tab, check the log in drop down there, and both fields are still empty. Refresh the page again, still empty. So each day now I have to find a Daz sales promo email to log in to the forums so I can use the links in the notification emails to the various threads I'm subscribed to and remain logged in.
...can it become any more absurd?
I don't know if it's been mentioned but the DAZ page that gets linked from the Google Search ad that are always on the top lines has messed up formatting in Chrome (which is ironic).

I dunno if this is the proper forum for comments/complaints/suggestions about thew new storefront, but a couple of observations if any DAZ folks are here and could use the input.
(1) The new storefront is s-u-p-e-r-s-l-o-w on Safari under Yosemite. It’s relatively zippy and painless using Firefox on the same machine.
(2) The new product descriptions seem to be missing the “other products used in the promo renders” area that was in the old storefront. I really found those notes useful.
I will merge this with the main thread for you
Thanks for pointing mere here, chohole!
OK I was told to post this here.
I am a bit slow on the uptake for so please be gentle with your answers. I just stumbled upon the Gallery where you can post your work. I had no idea there was such a thing. So I can get the images in. That is pretty simple. But I can’t edit my profile. Whenever I attempt to edit my profile, I get a box the says “your profile” but it is blank. The only option is to click the X and get out of it. My images get posted as “by anonymous”. I would like my name attached so people know \who to laugh at. I would also like to know how to assign the images to categories, like “figures” “Environment”, etc. Is there a post that explains all of this? I have searched for a couple of days with no luck. Also, what size should the header image be.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Oh and just in case, I use Windows 8.
This was raised earlier in the thread here http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/48372/P300/#710510
I agree that it's an epidemic. Today my local newspaper revamped their website. Impossible to find any news there now. Very few words, but lots of big pictures. I had to search for their coverage on today's 67P landing and when I did find it, it simply said to read more than the headline go to the New York Times.
...I'd like to think it was just passing fad like "sticker hotrods", mullets, 8 tracks, and CB radios.
Then again, SUVs are still around, and cell/smartphone use has become a pandemic. I'm surprised more people don't get flattened by all the SUVs out there while walking along in their own personal "bubble", oblivious to the world around them while texting away.
It used to be that the idiot box was that big glass bubble in the living room that everyone sat around at night.
Now the idiot box is much smaller, individual, and hand-held - and while it claims to be a phone, very few people actually use it for talking to other people.
Same here. In my case the reason is that I purchased the full product, not the upgrade, which is a different product (different SKU) with its own product page. Do a search on "Ultimate changing ponytail" and you'll see both product pages, one of them is probably tagged as "Purchased" while the other is not.

It was a change at my local TV station's website that prompted my comment. News? What news? We need that content, right?
...and it just keeps getting stranger.
Just finished entering a post. Clicked on Submit Post and was immediately misdirected to my account page. Clicking the browser back arrow (which usually would return me to the "Post a New Reply" page I was on) instead kept looping me back to my account page.
Was still logged in on the store site but apparently logged out from the forums. Had to log out of the store, wait until the home page appeared, and then log back in again so I could get back to the thread I was on to paste what I had copied to the clipboard into a new response window (my standard SOP these days) to post the reply.
...it shouldn't be this difficult.
There seem to be a problem with the "Required Products" note disappearing sometimes, like here. Not sure what triggers it - I discovered that for some reason I had these textures but not the main item they were for, so I put the main item in the cart. Later I reopened the textures page and saw that the "Required Products" note had disappeared. I thought it might have to do with the main item being in the cart, but removing it didn't seem to make any difference. After closing and reopening the textures page a few times, doing refreshes etc., "Required Products" suddenly were back again. Haven't been able to make it disappear again, I've purchased the main item now so it says "owned" on the textures page, don't know if that has any effect on the bug.

Same here, had to post my previous post here three times before it worked (last time I just went back to the forum list, reopened the thread and posted it again, no logging out/in or anything).
EDIT: this post went through on the first try.
Greetings,
So...I've seen behavior like that (the forum post problems) mainly when I'm using Fast Reply and new replies have come in since then. I've also seen it when replying to threads which have been moved to the Bad Place. (Apparently there's a forum that all the Bad Children get moved to...either in preparation for being deleted, or as a Permanent Record, and if you don't have permission to that forum (which probably only admins have), your posts don't go through.)

...I never use "Quick Reply" and the misdirect to the account page (usually followed by a forced timeout/logout from the forums) can and has occured on any given thread, including "stickies".
If many of the threads I subscribe to or pick up on and post to are designated as "bad children", I would expect to see quite a wholesale "culling" of the forum contents.in the very near future.
This is a bug in the routine somewhere, one that has been around off and on since the last version of the site went live.
