Maybe because, as sales go, it kinda sucks? I went through every one of the promotional offers and freebies and found that all the discounts were quite a bit less than what was being offered for most of August, while the potential freebies and add-on items were all things that I had already or have no interest in ever getting like yet more expression packs to slow down my load times. If it wasn't for Sickleyields new A3/H3 clone set I'd have completely passed on buying today.
40% on new releases, 50% on two or more? I certainly don't recall seeing that on a regular basis in August.
I confess that my first reaction on seeing the sale banner was "Please God, make it stop." The phrase "There's always another sale" has started to sound rather menacing.
But I think that's more about me than about DAZ, and there is nothing stopping me from taking a step back and not feeling that I have to snap up every bargain that is offered. I'm sure the sale will be great, with many excellent products and great deals. Enjoy, everyone.
For people who have money available to buy new products - and are ready to buy G8.1 figures and stuff - that might be interesting. I'm neither. And as there's still enough "old" - aka G3 and G8 stuff - that sits in my wishlist, waiting for a better deal, the free item - aka the one that doesn't need one or more items to be bought - is the most interesting thing... and if I recall it properly, it was the same with last year's PA sale.

PC+ sale in October?!?
Daz's sales are kind of whack.
A little while ago, they advertised you could buy 8 HD AddOns for $8, which sounded like a pretty sweet deal, so I took the plunge.
Then, literally one or two days later, every single HD AddOn was on sale for $5. All of them. For $5. It's like...does Daz understand how sales work? You put the best deal out first, to incentivize people to buy them ASAP, and then you put the lesser deal out afterwards. If you put the better deal out second, people will train themselves to skip sales thinking they might get a better deal tomorrow. I know I do.

But, I do agree with RichardH, some of the deals are better than usual. What I would REALLY appreciate is a good gift card deal. Until then, my spendings are limited.

I guess the offer is really quite good if you're interested in one of the debut new items, but unfortunately I'm not, and for clearing some of my wishlist, the buy-in is too high and the achievable discount too little. But it's usually like this for me at the PA sale, so quite alright. Am also more one for the PC+ sale I guess.

My taste and the taste of the new art director just don't jive. I mean, REALLY don't jive. LOL. There's been few new things I'd even buy on a 1.99 clearance sale. I DO like the deep discounts on the older stuff though, but until there are more of those, for me, it's a hard pass ;).

If this is in response to my post, I never said none of the things on my wishlist were on sale, most of them are. I just said that the sale price isn't right for me for any of them atm. I'm on a budget, like many others here, so need to do the math. So if I see items going on sale for 60% regularly, I sure won't be buying them for 40% or 50% off if I'm not in terrible pressing need of them. See? Everyone has their own style of DAZzing ...
Most of my wishlist is older stuff, and I don't/can't use the newer, so sales like these aren't of much interest - although I always toss some stuff in a cart to make extra sure :-D I'm always good for another of deviney's brushes, but I'll wait for a more appropriate sale.

I really haven't even adopted G8 all that much (save for several of the more "unique" characters) due to budget reasons and the fact it was not as significant an update over G3 to warrant dropping hundreds more zloty's on all the merchant, morph, skin, and shaping resource content all over again (still have a few such items on the wishlist for G3). I also was put off last month by having to purchase bundles to unlock deals and discounts. I'm even hard pressed to even purchase a 15$ or 20$ new release as, unless I load up my cart (which I cannot afford to do) the additional 10% (often applied using "Daz math") isn't worth it. Paying 15$ to save say an extra 7.50$ is what is known as "diminishing returns".
Indeed the spring and fall PC+ sales have become my favourite events these days as new PC+ items unlock extra discounts and special deals, and then there are the PC+ For a Day sales.
There's a question I asked in the PC forum which might be better placed here.
I have two PA products in my cart right now which means 50% discount. They are both G8M products which I don't really need right now but will need if and when I start using G8M characters (I'm still getting by with G3M but so much has come out for G8 that I will have to move on eventually). Anyhow, I'm tempted to purchase but would like to use my PC+ coupon (September - my August one has been used). I'm just worried that the products (Zev0) will be off the sale by Sept 1st.
Anyone know if these "Festival" discounts will last a while?

...OK must be some inner workings still not working properly as an hour and ten minutes past "Daz Zero Hour" the banner changed to read: "Extra Platinum Savings for Everyone", but no mention of such on yet on the sale page itself as well as tonight's new releases are not yet showing on the sale page.
...ah NM, the page finally updated. So the 2.50$ deal for PC members only works if purchasing a new release.
Already have the daily freebie as well.

Is it okay that I feel mildly trolled by the "Natural Beauties" part of the "sale" because as a PC+ customer I get the chance to buy all the nice Poser time plants for only $ 2.50 that I already passed over multiple times when 8 of them were available for $ 2.99 during the PC+ sales of recent years?
At least the "free item of the day" only asks for spending $ 5.- on anything and not asking for buying one of the New or Still New items... alas, I already own it, so *shrug* nope.. noting to buy here...
Seeing the Featured Artists Deal % off only after putting the items into the shopping cart is the kind of Shop Jenga the customers probably would have seen gone after the "Shop rework"... spending hours to go through different combinations of items to find the best deal stopped being fun years ago for me... but hey, people are probably are different, right?

Nobody outside Daz knows when a sale will end, but even if this particular one doesn't last long enough, there are usually catch-up sales later on. I'm very confident that you will be able to achieve (at least) a 50% discount on Zev0 products at some point in September.
Yesterdays' sale was pretty decent in my opinion, free HD-Addons are always welcome, and I have a rather large wishlist, so I didn't have trouble finding the second freebie either.
Today, well, there's still an extra discount for picking 2 of the days' new releases, which I think is a good thing. A 50% discount for the current days' new releases should be standard throughout the year in my opnion.
Most of the other deals though, well, I have seen better deals and discounts, so no matter if they're on my wishlist, I'd only take them if I had some pressing reason to do so, like, a render I'm working on that could really use it. Otherwise, I'll generally just wait for a fast-grab or even better deal.

I finally managed to snag one very, very old WL item yesterday at a decent discount with some tricks. It was still dearer than I would have wanted it to be, but since it's old, I'm always a little scared it will be discontinued before I get a chance to buy. So better safe then sorry I guess. In today's new sale, though, there really isn't anything for me at all. Also own the freebie, like many others here, probably coz it came with the Edie bundle. Ah well. There's always another sale ...
What daily freebie? Pix Tilwyg for Edie 8 is showing as "free when you spend $5 in a single transaction." Yesterday the pose set for G8M didn't have a buy in.
I don't usually find much in the PA sale, so no big deal to me.

Nothing for me today really, as far as deals. The $2,50 stuff is fairly old. I already have the spend $5 free item, somehow, as I wouldn;t buy it outright unless it was part of a bundle.
Anyway, I like the new hair, and use Flowscape a bit, so that community workshop looks like a possibility.
Overall though, the deals are lower than my usual 70% off criteria. I did pick some stuff up the other day at 60% though, so it depends on my needs at the moment.
You should be able to use your September PC coupon today. Jack sets them up to overlap by a day so September's starts today, and August's is good through tomorrow.
I've tried it twice so far and it cames up not valid. I've done that in the past but it appears not working today.
In cases like this, if everything is within the 30 day period, you can ask customer service to refund you the difference. Make sure to include screenshots to prove that items you bought for $8 are indeed part of the $5 sale.
I think the Monday offer was pretty good!
I didn´t take advantage of it just because there were no HD morphs in that selection that I´m interested in, I snapped them all up when they were $5 earlier this year.
The offer today isn´t interesting for me but that´s fine.

The only things I buy lately are $1.99 “clearance” or PC for a day items which I don’t actually need at all but it’s hard to pass those up. Or something that’s rarely on sale that I’ve wanted for a while at 70% off or more or something completely different from everything I already own. I already have soooo much content that DS is crawling slow. Sorry PAs but please know I already own most of what’s in your stores! Also, I really don’t like the new shaders on G8.1 so that has put a big stop to my buying new characters (which I REALLY don’t need anyway!)
The problem I think is that content gets so repetitive. How many Egyptian/pirate stuff can one use? I know it must be hard for PAs to come up with new concepts, create trends rather than follow them, and with Covid there are less trends even to follow, but I’d really like to see something NEW! I know I could design some really cool stuff but I don’t know how to model them and maybe my ideas would be hard to do, but I’m really hoping some newer creative concepts enter into the Daz store because my library is already over saturated with repetitive content.
Every sale clearly says "Cannot be used to re-purchase a previously owned item at a lower price," which to me sounds exactly like what you're suggesting.
