You folks are making Josehpine look better than in the promo photos. I've been on the fence with her, but getting second thoughts thanks to some of your photos here! Nice work!

Not that difficult. Josephine seems to have some of the least flattering promos that I've seen in a dog's age.

I find it interesting that most of you are dialing out Josephene and shooting towards making a highly beautiful and attractive character instead.  Hopefully DAZ gathers this feedback and strives to make characters more attractive rather instead of plain/normal looking. It's hard to make a normal character beautiful, but easy to make a beautiful character normal/plain looking.

The time it takes to make a highly attractive character can take weeks, so if DAZ could just make them beautiful by default, it would save a lot of time.

I find her very attractive; she has character in her face, and looks believeably real.

There are tons of beautiful characters in store. Many are somewhat stylised to a greater or lesser extent.

Eye of the beholder, etc, I guess. I couldn't disagree more with this premise. I find 90% of all DAZ characters to be attractive enough that they could get modelling jobs in the real world. One has to really look for the plain characters in the store.

(Not a critisism, I get why people - myself included - mostly want to render attractive characters. )

I am finding all the renders by everyone else fantastic. Thanks.

What I have found, regardless of generation, is when I have a character up on my screen, male or female, that something starts to come through that speaks to me. I have learned to take the promos with a grain of salt, especially Genesis and Genesis 2, as those seem to be the most bland, yet on the screen come up with hidden gems. I love humanity's diversity and want to portray it as best I can. I don't often do that as well as others, but I keep trying.

And while the other one rendered, I put Jessi HD for Josephine 8 together and it rendered in a fraction of the time.

I went to work on Zaida for Josephene 8 and ended up submitting a Customer Service report on her missing fibermesh eyebrows. I will use another product for them. But if you have her, I just wanted to let you know I reported this.

Josephene 8 and the shape of Fiore - I have given up on his original skin and has used another one, I have found in the content library.

Here is Zaida for Josephene 8, using Super Natural Brows for now. Not sure why the outfit's pant leg tried to grab the arm as I moved it back towards the leg after simulation. I forgot to add jewerly due to hours of frustration with a stool hunt and repeated poses. Not fun. I do like this character, she has some nice options to play with.

There's something about Zaida that reminds me of Jane Fonda, even if it's obviously not an exact match.

    Thanks ALLIEKATBLUE.

Hylas, it maybe 'attitude'. Jane Fonda still has it today.

Does anyone else have a lot of missing thumbnail pngs in Josephene's Materials library? I only install via DIM and they are definitely not in the ZIP.

I came here to see if I was the only one. Glad I'm not going insane. :)

    You aren't the only one.

At least she's all sorted to spy out those responsible: https://www.daz3d.com/enemy-agent-bundle*

*full disclosure: I made the SpyStuff props in that bundle (and ThoseThings did the awesome poses) so I'm perhaps biased towards liking it ;) - I do like the look of that Spy Kit (by Esis and FenixPhoenix) too though :)

Cool props! Thanks for the explosion planes; I can always use more of them.

I have renders, but everyone was so down, I thought it best not to post. I can if you would like? I am not crazy about the Josephene ones, want to redo them actually, lighting blew them out.

@memcneil70 Yes, please, this is a formal request.

The Incognito Outfit reminds me of the restaurant scene in "Anna," but there is no white version?

Nice render, Greybro. And thanks for the men's jacket and morphs!

This is Josephene 8 HD. I went for a more normal person. I used the new https://www.daz3d.com/lioness-weekend-cottage, the shirt and pants from https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-lounge-wear-for-genesis-8-females and socks from https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-kitten-dress-for-genesis-8-females (those socks are becoming favorites of mine) and used https://www.daz3d.com/xmas-knits-iray-shaders- on them. Again, another pose from https://www.daz3d.com/advanced-seated-poses-for-genesis-8-female, and other than adjusting the height for the lounge seat, no other adjustment was needed.

Just a shout-out to JGreenlees and sade on their set of shaders. I have found them so very useful time after time. On that note, I collect shaders, may be the most valuable tool in the Daz Tool Box for keeping things unique. So my thanks to all you PAs.

Self collision can affect the cloth in unexpected ways when draping.

Thank you, @ALLIEKATBLUE, for bothering to say that, but she really has no expression. That's why I put her in a dystopian scene, 'cause I couldn't get her to look happy or sexy enough for anything else. I've had a terrible time trying to get an expression I like on her.

But @Artini has nailed her expressiveness repeatedly; so, the lack is not in Josephene 8 but in me. And thanks, Artini, for being nice like you always are. I'm so inspired by your renders, and I love Josephene as a coquette!

@memcneil70 I'm glad something's speaking to you in all these characters; you're making them look different than I'd imagined them. From fusticating with her, I don't think I could ever have gotten Zaida to look that interesting.

Cool observation. I think that brand of 'attitude' can come from having your heart broken repeatedly and instead of getting bitter, you keep a sense of humour about it.

Well, although the Daz Original morphs are so extreme that they often produce ugly characters at 100%, when dialed down and mixed with other morphs, they can really make some interesting better looking characters. This is Josephine at 50% with added other morphs. I think I will have fun playing with her now. All in all, Ireally like this bundle and addons, a lot more than any in the recent past!

The bump and/or normals are too strong for closeups though...

Wow, gorgeous morphs you added. If this was the main char I am sure a lot more would have been enticed to buy her bundle.

What I do think is that Daz especially goes with its morphs to more extreme features so you can combine them dialed down easily. If the features are more extreme even 10% of a face will make a difference.

Yes, I agree. In Novica's thread in the Art Studio forum I have even more mixes with Josephene and others are also posting mixes that really show off how you can play with the gene pool.

    Josephene8Yasmeenian

Josephene 8 reminded me of Yasmeen Ghauri on first sight (well, my first sight was the email promo which looked to me like CJ 8's older sister---the trapezoidal jaw---but then I realised they were pretty different or differently pretty). I copied a runway still of her Ghauriness and broadened Josephene's shoulders / slimmed her waist / lengthened her neck to Yasmeen's proportions, (yes, such creatures do exist naturally, without man's fingerprints). I think her shoulders must've inspired Victoria 3.

I still haven't gotten an expression I like on Josephene, but I've had an outfit idea for years that I finally tried to recreate. Alas, I ended up with a Vegas showgirl instead of my original vision. No matter what lights/setting/surface parameters I used, I could not get rid of the posterization on the Raven feathers. Yup, that's OOT's forehead hair (why?) turning into black spots, but I'm CPU only for awhile; so, I won't bother with it.
