Dog Agility Course is in the category for a current purple banner offer (up to 30% off select items), but it is not discounting at all when placed in the cart with other items from the same offer.

My purple banner was for a free item, but I like yours better, wanna trade lol.

I've got one after the other. First the free item and then the 30% off. So you might want to close your first banner to check if you got the other one as well.

Thanks! It worked. Who'da thunk it? Glad you did. :)

Hopefully they'll be some kind of compensentory offer today for those of us who already have all the of the core figures that trigger the 20% discount.  I really don't understand why DAZ's marketing people continue to think it's a swell idea to constantly punish the customers who've already bought their products by locking them out of new promotions, but since they're clearly never going to change their misocustomogenic practices, at least getting a purple bar offer takes a bit of the sting out of it.

I don't see this any different than the countless offers companies make to new users. Sure, I'd love the savings or deal or whatever is offered, but that is just how companies work to try and get more people to come in. PC+ members always have some advantages non-members don't have, sales have given advantages to those who spend more, enticements for those that haven't spent in a while. Any number of things. These things are not punishments, they are just the particular deal of the day and as the thread says, there's always another sale, and you may get things you want in that next one.

LOL - I own all except one of the 'core characters' and buying today's item I most want with that in the cart is more expensive than just buying today's item. I think I'll sit this one out.

Hmmm...some of these core characters have been freebies.

Wow, I own all of the offered core characters. And most I still haven't rendered...

One time a company I was a customer of had totally saturated their facilities with "new customers" and free trials that the paying customers could not use them. They lost at least one customer that day - ME. It may be common practice, but it is a STUPID common practice.

Wow, great offer! It seems I have all the core characters, so I am debarred from 20% off new items. Just seems another example of Daz-splatt: I probably should buy/accumulate less. I cannot grasp the theory behind this, but I assume there must be one.

You could perhaps re-buy one of the characters, but you'll probably need to buy several new items to 'win back' the $5 the character costs.

Same here; another loyal customer feeling left out!  I already own all the core characters and there is no alternate offer; so I miss out on the extra discounts on both the new items and on the featured artists. crying

Oh well, at least there is a positive side -- I'll save money by not buying anything. devil

Yeah I noticed that, so into the wishlist they go waiting for another sale (I like to keep on topic for the thread :))

There's often times a banner with 'Because you own...' and an alternative discount but not seeing anything this time.

Except the most you can buy with the offer is 2, so even if you went for the two most expensive, the total saving after buying an already owned $5 item would be a rather miserly $2.

Well, I own everything in the $5 group too, but I tested the cart to see what the prices were.

Plopped Victoria 7 in, went to $5
Then two new releases which were 30%
    https://www.daz3d.com/jeans-jacket-mayhem  was 15.37 30% off      and went to 12.30 and 44% off.      So that's $3.07 saved
    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-greyson-hair-for-genesis-8  was 30% off and 17.47        and went to 13.97 and 44% off.        So that's 3.50 saved

     Ta-Dah, I'm saving....6.57 minus $5 had to spend equals....

$1.57 "SAVED"   and having to SPEND 31.27 to do it!
PASS. Not to mention the featured artist stores only go to 55% off. Having to spend 31.27 to get that percentage is a no-go.

Yeah, do the marketing folks even test the results when they concoct these sales? Do they think buyers don't????

I don't own many of the core characters offered but I am still not using this offer. I don't understand what is so good about it that so many are sad they are missing it.

The new items go to only 44% off. That is still very expensive in my book.

The featured artists maybe is something that might interest you. Items from 40% off jump to 58% off and from 58% off jump from 71% off.

But for that discount to apply I have to buy an obsolete Gen3 figure so in my book it's almost the same as buying something I already own just as you guys. (and I don't even own Michael7)

Besides, this type of discount for artists is pretty common, you just have to wait until they come back in rotation for a new offer.

"Buy a Daz Core Character for $5"

"Buy Select Daz Core Characters for JUST $5"

Confuses me. First sentence is in singular and second in plural. Can I buy just one or more items for $5 ?

I don't quite see your logic here.   You spent $5 to save an extra $6.57, as presumably you would want to buy the two new items. You got the Character for $5 regardless, you don't need to go on and trigger extra discounts unless you actually want the products on offer.

It does also say one per customer. I think that "Buy Select Daz Core Characters for JUST $5" is meant to convey that there is a range to choose from, not ot every core character is on offer.

Thanks. Bargain hunter eye see what likes the most.

I’m not English speaker but to me look little bit clumsy. On main banner additional text is "Get Select Daz Characters for 5$, inside is "Buy Select Daz Core Characters for JUST $5". They both challenges main title which is fine and informative by itself.

(Usable once per customer) to me means "One cart" not necessarily "One Item".

  • Probably not an error, but there’s no kind of loyalty discount banner for those of us who already own all of the DAZ figures, so no $5 figures even available to access the discount. Oh well, guess I won’t be spending any money today.

The new items go to only 44% off. That is still very expensive in my book.

Discount on new items is usually 30%, except during big sale events (like the Xmas sale). Getting 44% on new releases on a regular day is actually a good deal.

G3 figures are definitely not obsolete. You may not be interested in them, but many people are.

I thought I could purchase more than one daz core character? ;-; Disappointed I can't for some reason. It should be clear that it is only one character a customer can purchase. By saying this offer is only available once for a customer, means I can buy 3-4 core characters once in the lifetime of my account. But this doesn't seem to be the case and I checked for additional wording...there isn't. Confusing!

G3 figures are definitely not obsolete. You may not be interested in them, but many people are.

I would expect people interested in G3 figures are mostly people that have a lot of products for them, meaning people that have been around for a long time. In that long time, I expect most people already bought the G3 models they were interested in. While G3 figures do look good, someone who joined Daz after G8 was online, would not have too many products for G3 so I don't see how many people would actually be interested in the offer.

I can't comment for others on the 44% discount but for me, it sounds expensive. Not necessarily as percentage but as final price. Unless it was something I really really wanted, I would never buy at that price. Then again, I also didn't want to buy items at 72% discount so I may not be the best one to compare this discount to.

Technically it’s not error because there are different SKU, but on 3 million users somebody can oversee fact that Michael 6 Starter bundle is (still) in freebie section and buy  Michael 6  for $5 on today sale.

  • OdaaOdaa Posts: 1,548

Still mostly using Genesis 3 in my art, so this looks like a good excuse to grab Gia 7, and maybe get Camera Optimizer for slightly cheaper. There are scripts in the store to convert characters forward from G3 to G8, so if you see a G3 core character you like but you mostly use G8, it might be worth looking into.

Agreed that it is not nearly as exciting a deal as the ad copy makes it sound.

I'll be honest in saying I didn't even get as far as running the numbers that far.  As soon as I see that I see that a sale doesn't apply to me, I stop reading and wait to see if there is an alternate deal.  If there isn't, then DAZ gets no business that day... especially since Renderosity has been running at least two vendors everyday at 70% off.
