I don't see this any different than the countless offers companies make to new users. Sure, I'd love the savings or deal or whatever is offered, but that is just how companies work to try and get more people to come in. PC+ members always have some advantages non-members don't have, sales have given advantages to those who spend more, enticements for those that haven't spent in a while. Any number of things. These things are not punishments, they are just the particular deal of the day and as the thread says, there's always another sale, and you may get things you want in that next one.

And I'm sure that the PAs who won't get all the sales that they could have today due to a significant percentage of the regular buyers being excluded from todays ad, are in complete agreement.  :/  However, you seem to have missed that the actual point of my post was that with the Purple Bar offers DAZ DID develop an effective method for countering the negative effects of their ongoing "give the store away and make it up in volume" sales strategy, yet the implentation of that option seems to have no consistant trigger or logic.

What in the rules of DAZ does it state that they must supply us with a knockout sale every day of the week? Why we need to buy something every day? Sometimes its too good to pass, other days, not so much.
Save your cash for the next big sale. "There's Always Another Sale".

I even passed on that banner sale yesterday with the 30% off or whatever it was.
How did I ever get such strength?

I think a core character for 5$ is nothing to be sniffed at! Not everybody already owns everything.

Well, I own everything in the $5 group too, but I tested the cart to see what the prices were.

Plopped Victoria 7 in, went to $5
Then two new releases which were 30%
    https://www.daz3d.com/jeans-jacket-mayhem  was 15.37 30% off      and went to 12.30 and 44% off.      So that's $3.07 saved
    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-greyson-hair-for-genesis-8  was 30% off and 17.47        and went to 13.97 and 44% off.        So that's 3.50 saved

     Ta-Dah, I'm saving....6.57 minus $5 had to spend equals....

$1.57 "SAVED"   and having to SPEND 31.27 to do it!
PASS. Not to mention the featured artist stores only go to 55% off. Having to spend 31.27 to get that percentage is a no-go.

I don't quite see your logic here.   You spent $5 to save an extra $6.57, as presumably you would want to buy the two new items. You got the Character for $5 regardless, you don't need to go on and trigger extra discounts unless you actually want the products on offer.

I think you may have missed the fact she already owns all the characters. The only way she can access the extra discounts for the new releases and/or the featured artists is to purchase a core character she's purchased in the past. Of course we've seen offers like this in the past, but then Daz would provide an exclusive offer to those who already owned everything that was free, or triggered the discounts. They didn't do that with this offer, which is surprising.

Personally, I think most offers in January seem a bit lackluster. It isn't the sales as much as the period of adjustment coming off the Holiday Rewards sale with the additional Loyalty discounts and amazing offers every single day. (Even if not all the offers hit my sweet spot of great price and must have products!)

44% off new releases is a good offer. 55% off featured artist products is also a good offer. In another week or two, we'll get used to 'normal' sales again, (and by "we" I mean me,) where the new releases get a straight 30% discount, and I'll be longing for an offer that makes it 44% instead.

what? Render the stuff? surely you jest.

  • With regards to sales, gee, 'everybody check your emails' - I don't know the parameters for this mailing. It says 48 hours only At a Crazy Deal select Genesis content 80% off. That's nice, which content? If one clicks on the image which tecnically, normally would bring one to the appropriate page, it brings one to the homepage for Daz3D.

However :-) The image also says Choose up to 3 items below, exclusive offer to pick up some Genesis items. And by pick up, that's what one can do ... I am NOT complaining. Whether they meant that these were to be 80% off or not I don't know 'cause they have nothing to do with Genesis. 3 items from the 6, presuppos' you don't already own them ... FREE! It says nowhere on that newsletter that they are free so whether it's missing the text or the company is unintentionally giving away products I don't know. They show up free in the shopping cart :-) There are swords and then conveniently a hospital bed which those who play with swords will of course need. And a feedbag to keep the horse happy while waiting for rider to mend.

Unfortunately I have not received that email. Still curious what is the basis for Daz to send emails with deals only to some people.

I can’t follow your logic on this. The email seems perfectly straightforward to me. “Save on select content” followed immediately by a selection of content isn’t exactly the Voynich manuscript.

Thanks for that. I'd just figured the email link was hopelessly screwed up or had expired early (wouldn't be the first time for either), and if I hadn't found anything helpful in this thread, I was going to just forget it.

lots of people talk about getting special offer emails. I have never gotten one. I get the daily emails and the PC+ emails ..but not offers.

I was excluded from today's ad, and I'm one of the best buyers of all (see the "hundreds of pages of content library" thread).

Get an EXTRA 20% OFF* up to 2 New Releases when you include any select Daz Core Character in your cart

Looks simple enough, but then there's this:

    Daz Core Items

    0 of 65 items

Yep, no core items left. The sale logic should pick up on that and give me the discount, don't you think?

Well, I own all the characters; so, I'm left out of that offer. AND just to add insult to injury I also didn't even get the email offer. So, this loyal customer got left out all around. no

The email might have been stoped because of the error. It takes few hours till everyone gets the emails.

Wasn't a purple banner ;-)   Was wondering if indeed there be a link to the Genesis content at 80%.

Going by the replies, looks like nobody has found one, so okay. I had spent an entire day going through Genesis' closet tossing out textures for non-existent clothing items. Was, for some silly reason, hoping those clothing items might have been on sale. Moving on to the next closet ...

Email? Didn't get one of those. I won't complain about what's on offer. I will instead ask the Sales Gods for some wonderfully good deals on a wide variety of Pro packs sometime in the future. There are a fair number of G3 and even G2 packs I would love to collect, but... I'm frugal, and I don't see the point of buying a loose figure or even a starter pack. Thanks! :)

I think you all are looking at this e-mail offer the wrong way. Not everyone visits the site 10 times a day, so they might not participate in, or even know about, the constant barrage of special promotions and flash sales and whatnot. But, I am sure they read their e-mail as often as that, if not more, so what better way to pull in the occasional buyer with a tempting deal they can't miss? Don't feel left out, you have probably had as good a deal or better in the past, and more than once. So, you wait a few days or weeks, there's always... you know the rest.

And of course some may be visiting the PC threads ;-)

    .......................

Couldn't bring myself to spend the total money, but putting one of the loose figures in the basket lowers the price of other products sufficiently to make it almost if not free [depending upon what one may be buying], so it would be as a bonus if one is wanting to purchase of the other target products.

That there are no rules and/or logic to purple banner club.

For those who were going to say that it's "no one talks about purple banner club", that would unfortunately run at a direct counterpurpose to all the many documented times where multiple people have posted in the forums that they only received their purple banner offers long AFTER they might have otherwise normally made their purchases and would have therefore been either cheated out of the offer that DAZ actually intended them to have, or would have resulted in yet another needless burden laid on the customer service department due to attempts to retroactively address the problem.  Given that the intended purpose of the purple banners is to promote increased spending at DAZ, and how frequently the PB rollouts have been greatly delayed or staggered, it's hard to see how talking about purple banner club is anything other than far more advantageous to DAZ than remaining silent on the subject would be.

I usually see posts from people disappointed when they don't get one.. or don't get a particular coupon etc.

  • I don't get it. I can't even get one core character for $5. They come in at $29.95

Even when added to the cart?
