Oh, and something I really wish was more popular - add-ons for TerraDome 3. It's such a great and versatile concept and I'd love to see more expansions like an aquadome 3 similar to the one made for the old poser TerraDomes, but I can't remember the last time a new add on was released.

    ...+1

  • I would like more in the way of anatomical elements. There are 2 major sets, of course, but you can almost always tell which set is used in a render, at least that is how it seems to me. I would love more variety be it more morphs to really change the look on existing products or a new set(s) entirely. I know DAZ is not likely the place that would be sold as it is hard to market what you cannot show but it's at the top of my list.

It would be cool to do some kind of crowdfund campaign for things where people donate and then experienced artists could bid on the project to make the item(s)...wishes

I could help with that - at least for all Genesis 8 Male Genitals my Roderick character comes with LOTS of options for that actually, but I bet not so many people recognized or even noticed it - which is also understandable because either I nor DAZ can marketing it.

    • Anatomical Elements Options:
    • 14 HD Adjustment Morphs
    • 14 HD Full Morphs
    • 21 Easy Pose Dials

3 cut/ 3 uncut vein displacement maps in addition that can be applied to any G8M texture.

Roderick will be on sale soon I hope cause I have a Christmas Gift too for all my valued customers. :)

Have you checked the level of quality of the female stuff? The run of the mill is really close. It only looks better overall because therre is so much  *more* of it.

Wow yeah I had no clue! I just put Roderick and Bodyhair Project 78 in my cart that I am putting together to see how much I need to buy a discounted gift card for this evening. I am eager to see the options! Any chance for some female work?

As you maybe can imagine, such a "pack" needs to be part of a character, DAZ never ever would allow selling that as a separate item. So because I don't make female characters this is not going to happen unfortunately. blush

I got you. Thanks for pointing out the features for your product. I will check it out this evening.

  • The really obvious one: male content. Including clothing, morphs, props, poses, characters. And younger characters as well. We have all of that for females, why not males?

More male stuff, more (historically correct) period clothing.

  • I want to add a nitpicky one that just drives me nuts; seams on clothes.  Modelled in.  Fabric is not endless plastic sheeting, and clothes look far more realistic when it looks like it has been constructed, not vat-grown.  I also like stictches, pleats, tucks, and proper boning, especially in corsets.

Great morphs with Roderick Jepe! Some very nice options on this I am happy to see. I didn't get the body hair this time around but it will be next. Thanks again!

  • I'd love to see sci fi uniforms with a consistent look between male and female, with changeable insignia and rank, as well as versions of the insignia made to decorate buildings and ships. And maybe 'dress' versions of the uniforms.

I'm glad you see it so, thank you for your kind words. - And with Roderick you've got a very nice bodyhair solution already, the editable Strand-Based Hair Presets can also be used on any G8M and any morph and cover the whole body and face and brows and head. It looks wonderful in rendering of course, but in combination with the Bodyhair Project 78 it is even better. heart

Realistic male clothing and realistic, modern male hairstyles and more variety of male characters.

  • Like quite a few others I've always felt there was a dearth of male clothing and hairstyles compared to the female, but re clothing I don't think I've ever seen a man's cardigan! What I'd like to see re male clothing is a lot more basic wear such as T-shirts which don't have logos on them (I've said no to a lot of male wear because I don't want logos and motifs on them); round- and v-neck plain, sleeved and unsleeved pullovers; cardigans; Fair Isle patterns, waistcoats; single colour shirts but with a variety of collars such as basic, grandpa aka collarless, button-down (another item I don't think I've ever seen in Daz); and various sizes of mandarin collars (actual mandarin being quite high, while some actual shop-bought shirts I have are too low - so possibly even height-morphable mandarin collars). Re trousers, more variations of jeans, cords, chinos (have I ever seen the latter two in Daz?), etc; and re footwear Chelsea boots, brogues and now becoming popular actual foot-shaped shoes. There seems to be so much in menswear that no-one has ever tried creating.

A few people have mentioned period clothing, and as I recently mentioned in Product Suggestions, there are some really good period outfits, including international and historic, for M4 & V4 which have an originality I haven't seen in the Genesis generations.

One other product I'd very much like to see are spaceships, including interiors, which don't have English or other Earth language lettering on them as such can't be used for alien craft! Also, preferably anyone designing alien interiors - or interiors which can be used for Earthly or alien civilizations - shouldn't have self-created alien lettering on them. As with clothing, I prefer not to see writing on any product as it limits their usage scope. While there have been a very few aliens characters designed they're still very limited in number when compared to the number of alien species one sees in sci-fi TV series and movies - or even in old cartoons like the Treens of Mars from the 50s Dan Dare comic strips, which most people reading this have probably never heard of!

I'd love to see more items with a distinctly northern European flair, especially modular buildings and infrastructure props. And no, not those horrible neo-brutalist pieces that are cropping up everywhere. I want to build old towns. There's a guy(?) in the Carrara subforum who makes "Norwegian" scenes, and I have content-jealousy.

Dinosaurs, the really weird ones! Come to think of it, I kinda want a set of deliberately super-inaccurate ones, like they were imagined a century ago.

1970s-90s everyday clothing, furnishings and props.

Art Deco and Noveau exteriors, especially a modular build set.

Cryptids: Nessie, Jersey devil, chupacabra, Dover demon, Flatwoods monster and hodag.

Farm stuff. Anything and everything, really.

Winter clothing that's meant for outdoor activity, rather than staying snug on a trip to the cafe.

Stuff for (3D) kids to play with.

    Dress Blues/Cadet Dress Uniforms/General Uniforms for G8M

  • I'd also say more insects...and have them in swarms....Roaches and ants in low-res clusters.

I don't think there's a single Butterfly in the store,- lots of wings for humans and the swarm set, but a single, super-detailed butterfly....I don't see one.

Birds too, I don't think there's any pigeons yet. Definately would like some crowds of them in a group. (A little late now though).

Do we have any Bat swarms? Seems like that would already be in the store....

    ------------

Also more modular stuff. Let's apply that construction approach to, well... everything.....

    Modular Starship bridge.....Engine Room.......hallways.......break and rec....bunks......etc.....airlocks......decks......

    ------------------

I third or fourth the winder clothes. I'd love to see a goose-down type military jacket, with a morph for the hoodie and zipper front or maybe two versions if zipping is difficult.....

    ------------

I wish large military vessels were more popular...

A battle ship, submarine (insides vote seconded) and....and.....an AIRCRAFT CARRIER.....

THAT WOULD BE CRAZY.....with working elevators and compatible with Polish's Jets......

I would Love a true Tomcat. Two seater Top Gun.

    I'd recreate The Final Contdown.

    Sorry, I got carriered away.

And an Oil rig type thing.

  • I wish winter wear was more popular.  There are a few trenchcoats for men and women in the store and a few light hoodies, but otherwise not a great variety.  If you're rendering a crowd scene in wintertime it'd be nice to have your people all bundled up like Eskimos, to quote The Christmas Song.

More weird humanoid aliens/monsters/demons ... with normal-sized hands (or hands with separate morphs, so that they can be controlled independently). Gigantic hands with huge claws seem to be practically standard on all the otherwise amazing humanoid monsters in the store, and they are a real problem for posing, holding objects etc.

More weird fantasy/sci-fi animals -- not just monsters, but beasts of burden, rodents, random critters.

Baggy, practical work and everyday clothes for both male and female figures - sci-fi, fantasy, contemporary

More modular sci-fi or fantasy environment component sets -- walls, floors, etc.

Greebles -- I get so much mileage out of @DZFire's Nurnies Greebles Parts and Pieces sets.

The licencing on Mavelous Designer is bonkers.  If they brought in a strictly non-commercial, hobbyist licence for about $75, say, I reckon it would push their installed base well into six figures.  They would lose some of the existing $300 licences but would more than gain on the new users.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

  • Since Daz is used so heavily by book cover artists, I would love to see more things created specifically for that market, such as:

    1. Realistic dforce period clothing such as Victorian or Edwardian, which would include less fancy clothing. Very realistic textures and detail, nothing plastic-y.

    2. Good urban fantasy outfits for men (denim, leather, chucks/boots) - we have some, but again many of the textures are too featureless, too shiny, and don't look realistic.

    3. I don't have a huge market for this, but personally I'd love to see a good pirate/seafaring outfit. Depending on textures it could go military, steampunk, pirate. I would kill for this, especially with Aeon Soul -level of detail. :D

Mainly? More realism, more photo-realistic textures, less flat, bright white eyes and teeth on models.

They used to have a non-commercial licence long ago (not for 75$ though IIRC) and moved away from that, so clearly they thought it wasn't working for them.

And having more buyers at a lower price isn't always a good solution money wise: you'd need 4 buyers at 75$ to earn what a single 300$ purchase would bring you...

They have butterflies in here: https://www.daz3d.com/wonders-of-nature. Daz also has a few bat options, including a "flock" of them here: https://www.daz3d.com/rdna-scatters-vol-4-bats. Bird flock is here: https://www.daz3d.com/lorez-crow.
