Complaint:  Arghhh... I sat down and decided to pick out which symphony concerts I wanted to attend at Chautauqua Institution this summer (it's nearby, quality and relatively cheap) and discovered in their on-line calendar that they've added several more really good selections since the last time I looked at it a few weeks ago.  Arghhh.

So, now in addition to the:  Schubert "Unfinished Symphony", Stravinsky "Firebird Suite", Wagner "Tristan & Isolde", Brahms "Piano Concerto #1", Smetana "Bohemian Forests", Beethoven "Triple Concerto", Tchaikovsky "Nutcracker Suite", Gershwin "Rhapsody in Blue", Tchaikovsky "Sleeping Beauty Ballet (w/ballet), Mendelssohn "Midsummer Nights Dream", Stravinsky "Rite of Spring", Mussorgsky "Pictures at an Exhibition",  ...

that I mentioned a few weeks ago, I now find they've added the following:

Rachmaninoff "Symphony #2", Rachmaninoff "Isle of the Dead", Prokofiev "Violin Concerto #2", Strauss "Don Quixote", Bruch "Violin Concerto", Dvorak "Symphony #7", Mahler "Symphony #4", Strauss "Also Sprach Zarathustra"

All this in just 8 weeks in July and August!  Ghaaa, how can I choose?  So many good selections this year.  Usually there are only 3 or 4 that I am interested in and at $45 a pop I can afford only 2 or maybe 3, yet this years I would like to hear all of them. frown (I need to get a job at Chautauqua during the summer! enlightenedIf one has a gate pass and finds one's self on the institute grounds then anything playing at the open-air amphitheater is easily heard by just sitting on the curb or on somebody's front porch without having to have a ticket into the bowl of the theater itself.)

Ah here we go.  The FAQ page explains it:

If the ‘forgot your password’ does nothing, it usually means that your account wasn’t transferred at all – which indeed may have happened in some specific instances. If you are experiencing this, just contact our support so that we can investigate.

    • If your most recent VUE version activated was below VUE 11, or the only products you had activated were any of Carbon Scatter, Ozone or LumenRT, your account wasn’t transferred at all. So you can freely create yourself a new account using the create account

My last version of Vue was 10, so there wasn't a transfer made.

I wish I knew how much battery life is left on my Bluetooth keyboard.

If it’s for the iPad, it might tell you...go to the home screen and swipe left to right until you get that screen with the news headlines, stocks, Siri suggestions etc... if you scroll to the very bottom, you should see how much batter life your iPad has left... if it’s a keyboard that was made for iPad, then it should probably show up next to the iPad’s battery percentage... that’s where things like the Apple Pencil show up.

The cartoon TV show "Futurama" had a rude robot named "Bender".  He used alcohol for nurishment/fuel.  I guess he was on a perpetual Bender bender. (*groan*)

Great show!  I lost track of it when it left Fox.  sad

What is better, Zbrush or Blender?  I know one is cheaper than the other but I already have Zbrush and Blender. I need to learn how to use both but trying to figure out which one to learn first.

Blender is better because it’s free... Free = Better... Zbrush is over $750...

That is out of my price range...  so $750 = crying...

Zbrush does a lot of stuff Blender (or Bender) can’t... but, if you invest the time to get used to Blender, it has quintillion’s of plugins (not all free) that allow it to do stuff most people aren’t aware of.

I don’t know if it’s still on the Comedy Channel, but it was there for a long time... stupid time slots and it was moved around a lot...

I already got ZBrush 3 so I got a lot of upgrades for free.  I got ZBrush 2019 for free.  Sort of since I did have to pay for ZBrush 3.

I forgot how to adjust blown highlights in photographs using Gimp.  I think I need to look for the luminosity control.  I'm going to search the color correction.

Well that sucks.  Got the Vue Trial downloaded and installed and its xStream plugin only supports Cinema R15+.  I'm still on archaic R13 crying

Weh.  Guess it's the basic Vue subscription then.  Will try reinstalling Vue 10 first though, but seeing as how the advanced Vue sub doesn't support my version of C4D there's really no reason to get the more expensive subscription. The intergration plugin was really the only thing that was making me consider it.

Made a little 3D recreation of the first level of Dungeon Warfare 2 because I don't know why. Just felt like it I guess.

Then I added a dinosaur and some scurrying little critters to it, because I like putting critters and stuff into my scenes ven if its not necessary :P

Alright I think I'm kinda screwed with Vue 10 here.  I have my installer backed up sure, but I don't have (far as I know) the install key saved anywhere. Got it for Vue 8 for some reason, but not 10.  Thusly, I can't actually finish installing the program since it's asking me for that to continue. I don't think there's anything much that can be done about that unless E-On support can figure that my email was used to buy products from 'em in the past and then look something up,  but that's a bit of a longshot.  I might as well just subscribe to the current version and go with it that way :/

Will take a bit of a workaround to get old Cornucopia3D stuff to work in it but it should still be possible according to their FAQ.

Found out my notebook's default screen is too small for Zbrush.  I can use it better on my tv but that means I cannot watch youtube or any tv while ZBrushing.

Good news, I can (almost) stop babbling about the Vue topic now.

So While I'm taking a nap (didn't get much sleep last night hnn)  I get the idea to just check my email to see if I still have the receipt and stuff from when I got Vue 10.  Turns out, I do indeed still have the email with my licenses for Carbon Scatter, Vue 10 Complete, and Vue 8 Esprit. Talk about fortunate!  Which just leaves one, or at most two, more step(s) before I got this all sorted and out of the way~

I doubt I will sleep well tonight.  I did not take any Ritalin today because I was out.  It should be coming in soon and staff wants to to take afternoon pill when it does.  Right now I am running on caffeine fumes, okay I drank too much soda today.  I do not think Ritalin should be taken before bedtime.

They've gone Subscription-only nowadays, which I find can be better off than one big purchase. "Can be", depending on the situation.

Unrelated but I was just thinking of making some armor for one of the figures I have but then I realized I don't know how to get it to conform to it. I wonder how people go about that in other programs,  pinning things to each other? Copying a rig then editing it so it works? Something else entirely??   Making the plates and stuff for a static figure's easy, getting it to follow the creature underneath it though hnnn

I think part of it is copying the rig to it.

Makes sense, still seems like some arcane art to me though xD

Ditto goes for people who make things as simple as pose packs or morph targets for existing content, I never ever figured out how to do that right.

    Other random stuff:

    --Again with the DUF-only thing with new stuff. Really nice dinosaur - DUF ONLY!  Sigh.  Wish they'd just put out a DUF-to-CR2 converter or something... That new dinosaur looks so nice ;v;

--Working on making a certain effect in Cinema. I go looking for possible solutions/alternatives. I find some, but most involve things I can't use (Studio-only features like Cloth Sims,  expensive plugins I can't afford, or require version 15+)

--On the version thing.  InterposerPro stopped being produced around R14 or so. Meaning on the amazingly unlikely chance I do get the latest Cinema - Studio or not - I'll be missing out entirely on my stuff. I really don't like the idea of having to export between apps (especially if there's something I want to change, which is often) though I'm already kinda forced to do that with C4D/Vue and ModernDAZ/Everything so...   Studio would at least give me the ability to recreate the Morph system though. PLUS DYNAMICS. I LOVE DYNAMICS.

--Was up all night again.  Great that I'm having fun messing with 3D again but I really need sleep :V

--Non complaint: Got Vue 10 and CarbonScatter back up and running.  :D

--Minor Complaint:  Will need to go through that again in a few months since aiming for a new computer hah

--Also meh in that you buy a collection of models for your app of choice (Cinema 4D in my case) and the bundle isn't exactly provided in a library-ready structure. It's basically like you buying content off the store here and then you have to manually assign the Textures, Figures, and etc folders to their respective spots individually if you want it to be recognized by the browser.  The scene file loads fine on its own, but if I want it to be in one of C4D's libraries for quick accessing, I needed to manually open each and every file, make sure the textures got saved to it properly since Cinema's super-finicky with texture paths, and then save each model to the library one by one

The  Volume Modeler tool looks real sweet. Introduced in R20 along with the node-based material system.

Been looking for tutorials on the particle system.  Haven't had much luck.  There's about a million tuts for X-Particles, half a million for TurbulenceFD, a hundred thousand or three for RealFlow,  and the vast majority of the first two require Studio and all of them involve R15 onwards. Sometimes that doesn't make too much of a difference, since the Particle system has seen little change over the years (Large part of why X-Particles is so popular) but then there's the "Oh but we're mostly using Studio-edition tools too"  part...  :/

I'd just save up for X-Particles but I don't think they even sell it for R13 anymore, and it doesn't work with Vray anyway. Don't know a whole lot about things like compositing (if even possible)  but for stuff like fluids it can at least be cached.

Seven months of use?  I'd try to get a refund for that.  I've had my Netgear dual band router for years and have no trouble with it.  Maybe you bought cheap?  Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.  Not always, but sometimes.
