and i usually a fan of coocheekoo tentakoos monsters
Had something like that happen to me a while earlier. Sign up for a Free Trial, and then as it ends "Your trial has been converted to the full version and your CC has automatically been charged". Okay, so first off you never said anything about it auto-converting, and second you never warned me the trial period was coming to an end. >_>
Also had a similar'ish situation where an annual license I had (and completely forgot about) was renewing and it charged me without mentioning it was coming up. Ugh. Which made me very happy when Avast! gave me a full month in advance to plan for their annual renewal. This time, and unlike the previously two mentioned situations, I was ready so no harm came from it.
About four years ago they finally started to crack down on that sort of nonsense after it reached what was in some cases epic scammy proportions... the non-working help numbers, making it virtually impossible to unsubscribe from trials and other ridiculous subscription rigmarole intended to trap or lull people into feeding money to various “services” and subscriptions... unfortunately about two years ago that all went out the window and consumer rights took a nosedive. Now the various companies that were guilty of bad behavior are emboldened by the lack of oversight and ramping up their game.
Just be alert and skeptical and make sure you understand all terms of “agreements” and make sure there is a way to get out if you don’t like the service or subscription.
@Mystarra... I couldn’t quote you, my post is broken somehow... but yeah, my kids were both fascinated and horrified by that. And by the way, I’m pretty sure a squirrel ate it because it too disappeared from where I left it... cretins... refuse Cadbury eggs, but eat plastic and space monster fungus.
I just got that... it only took a day and a half... brain not so thinkie any more.

Heh, heh... Colombo... nice.
Non-complaint: Very much enjoying my one-episode daily binge of the BBC serial "Dickensian". It gets better and better. No, I don't know all the characters but a quick google with the character's name along with "Dickens" brings up enough replies that I quickly get summaries of the original stories and the relationships between the characters. Then I realize what's happening among the characters of the TV serial and generally know what the outcome will be but there are surprises along the way as it attempts to flesh out the nature, and fill in the backstory of these characters. Still don't know who did away with nasty old Mr. Marley though ( no spoilers please!). The intermixing of characters from several Dickens books as living in one neighborhood in a particular time & place is working out quite well. Very good series.
Excellent writing, dialog, acting, sets and costuming.
Mrs. Bumble is particularly annoying, especially to Mr. Bumble. ("Oliver Twist")
Bob Cratchit is almost too gentle and forgiving. ("A Christmas Carol")
Scrooge is a thoroughly dislikeable scrooge. ("A Christmas Carol")
Ms. Haversham is strong but too naive to the charms of the scheming Mr. Compeyson. ("Great Expectations")
Inspector Bucket tries his best to be observant and logical but reaches one wrong conclusion after another. ("Bleak House")
The periodic brief appearences of the tall horse faced neighborhood gossip woman and the conniving rotund gin addict woman provide convenient, tension relaxing, transitions between serious major scenes. ("???")
And there are so many other characters that come and go that I haven't studied all of them yet.
It's a really well done series.

Ugh... So I figured I’d pass this along, I thought about making a separate post thread, but from what I’ve gathered it seems to be most people here aren’t iPhone users... also this appears not be new “news”...
Apparently saying certain 2-3 digit numbers to Siri prompts it to call Emergency Services... in the case that prompted me to share this, I happened to ask Siri a question (and I never use Siri) while someone in the background was answering (shouting out to her sister) how old someone else was... and Siri ignored me and attempted to dial 911, but since it was on an iPad it can’t dial phone numbers...
I was pretty sure “17 years old” was what triggered it so I said “17” to Siri and confirmed it... so I looked it up.
Apparently just saying 17, 108, 112 and even asking information about 9/11 can trigger the dialing... you have several seconds to abort, but I think it’s kind of stupid to have a bunch of numbers that just saying them in context to a question or request can trigger an emergency phone call... personally I’d have something like that disabled by region or have a setting to chose your local emergency number... not to mention requiring you to say “dial” or “call”...
Apparently this has been a prank kids play on each other for at the past least three years... (“hey, tell Siri 17”... “you should tell Siri “108”... you can activate some cool features”)... though it’s a new one to me...
People always think I’m anti technology, but it’s stupid unnecessary nonsense like this (no way to choose your regional emergency code) that I’m critical of.
Megh...
I asked Siri about 17 and got some movie info. I do not have an iPhone but an iPad.

How long is age of ultron? Please tell me it is not over three hours long.
2 hours and 22 minutes, according to IMDb.
Okay thanks! For some reason I missed age of ultron.

But it's 7 and a half times longer than the reign of King Louis XIX of France!
Wikipedia: "In July 1830, Louis-Antoine of France – the last “Dauphin”, or heir apparent – ascended the French throne as King Louis XIX, succeeding his father, Charles X, who had abdicated. Within 20 minutes, however, Louis-Antoine had also abdicated, making him the joint shortest reigning monarch in history."
In other words... "Take this job and shove it!" or "No way, Jose' " or "Not me, nuh uh!"
i dont like the red lady in game of thrones. eeeek

Same. I was never interested and no matter how highly people speak of it or try to tell me about it, I just... Never been interested.
I 'unno why, maybe it's because it's fantasy? Sometimes I feel I'm very picky with that kinda stuff. Live-action things tend to disinterest me as well, visually speaking. I prefer cel-shade, and then Pixar'y CGI next. On the other hand, I adored the cinematics by Blur Studios for the Halo games, so who knows. That might be it though, I enjoyed "Forward Unto Dawn" despite it being live-action, but couldn't really get into other Live Action stuff.

Dish soap or Hand soap? :O
(Jus a little nod to GetFuzzy where Bucky said something similar haha. Doesn't understand what's so great about watching soaps, and it turns out he was just staring at ACTUAL soap xD)
I put my hand in my aquarium and my guppies tried to eat me alive. Well attempted to eat me but utterly failed. At the best they just ate some dead skin off my fingers. 0.o
The dragons were cute as babies, but they grew up fugly. when she rides them she's on their spikyness. cant be comfy.
Not that I'm complaining about DAZ coming up with a sale that keeps my money in my pocket but...
So If I buy four times at the usual 30% off introductory discount I get to choose four items free from a group of items I have refained from buying over the past 5 or so years despite spending what is probably 10's of thousands of dollars even at 70% or more discounts.
Um.
