The Soup is Cold and it Ain't Gazpacho Complaint Thread

Non-complaint: As I went to bed last night and turned on my bedside radio, which always plays the local classical radio station very softly during the night, I sat there on the edge of the bed mesmerized by the music. Again my ageing brain could not immediately identify the piece or even the composer despite being able to hum along with the melody and anticipating the next phrases. I was reminded of my comments about Romantic period music in this forum yesterday and said to myself; "Self, this is what I mean about music that grabs you by the emotions. It paints a scene. It digs into memories of life and flushes them to the surface. It gives excitement".
Determined to get my brain in gear and figure out at least the composer, I sat there for most of the 1st movement, mentally eliminating composers. "Um, nope not his style." "Um, nope his neither." Finally it flashed into my head "Dvořák" (pronounced D'vor-zhock) Then I realized it must be one of his wonderful later symphonies 7, 8, or 9 (because I'm not really very familiar with his early symphonies that are not as prominent. I knew it wasn't the #9 so I was left debating in my head between #'s 7 & 8 until I fell asleep somewhere in the middle of the 3rd movement.
This morning I looked it up on the radio station's website playlist and found it to be the #8. Listen to the first three minutes of the 1st movement to see what I mean about beauty, excitement and memories in music. Explore the rest of it at your pleasure.

I'm leaving to see the dentist about painful gums. I don't know what happened.
Daz related complaint: I'm going to miss the March Madness sales. I'll wait for another big sale to arrive. My pre-paid debit card is almost out of $$$.
Query: I don't have regular broadcast TV in my home and end up watching a lot of stuff on YouTube (I haven't exhausted it yet). A lot of what I see are those bad driver clips. It's amazing how badly some people drive.
There are a lot of them from Russia, China, Malaysia, Sweden, England, France, middle Europe and USA.
There are some baaaad drivers in all those countries but the Russians also seem to have to deal with roads that appear to be perpetually lubricated. One twitch of the steering wheel and it's a free ride on the Dumbo Teacups attraction at Disneyland.
HOWEVER, I don't believe I've ever seen any from Japan. Do the Japanese not have auto accidents or do they not hang their foibles out where people can see them?
Or is it perhaps that everybody in Japan would rather become a sardine and ride the trains rather than drive?
Complaint: It being Tuesday and the weather magnificent and the snow almost all gone I went for my usual Tuesday micro-adventure to do my uptown chores. With garbage disposed of and prescriptions picked up, and still trying to honor my budget for another week, I went for lunch at my 2nd most desirable Texas Hots restaurant (remember my favorite one's closed for a while). While there I sat in their tiny lunch room facing the TV and it was playing something like the Jerry Springer show. I hadn't seen one of those types of misery shows in a long time and was again flabbergasted at why those types of shows persist and the low class, self-harming antics of the guests. Why do people like these shows so much? Is this an example of the German word schadenfreude (Fascination with the misery of others)? If so, then they should just "STOP IT".
8 minutes to 3, think is too late to go to the corner to get a salad for lunch. bus comes at 4:40
...yeah the Russian videos can be rather interesting as well as scary, particularly the ones on the open highway. Most drivers there have been on the road for only 20 - 30 years at best compared to over a century here and in other nations. Back in the Soviet days most who were awarded the "privilege" of driving were wither government officials or workers. It took years to actually get a car and the purchase had to be approved. The only "common citizens" behind the wheel back then were truck and bus drivers as well as heavy equipment operators. The scenes that get me the most are the ones where someone will suddenly decide it is time to make a left turn from the far right lane across the next 3 - 4 lanes lanes of traffic (or vice versa). I also wonder if speed limits are enforced there, as even on city streets, people often appear to be driving at insane rates of speed (and the condition of many streets and roads there is not the greatest either) as well their ability to drive in snow given the fact that winters in a good portion of the country are usually long and harsh. It seems nobody slows down even in weather that would bring traffic to a crawl here.
If I ever travel to Moscow or St. Petersburg, I'll stick to riding the trams and make sure i have enough coffee every morning to stay alert for cars careening onto the sidewalks, running stoplights, and ploughing through crosswalks.
The primary reason for the profusion of dashcams there is that the Russian court system is fairly corrupt and video evidence is often the only way one can prove what actually happened.
When I see someone here pull an insane stunt similar to what I see in those videos, my reaction is to wonder if they learned how to drive in Moscow?
Yeah I also don't think I could ever ride the commuter trains in Japan, I don't even like being on crowded buses/trams here in the States which don't have monitors who's job is to cram as many people as they can in. At least on the express trains between cities only the seats are occupied. I'd probably run up a huge bill on taxi fares in Tokyo.
...The Drive At Your Own Peril In Moscow, Complaint Thread.
...well it was a beautiful day yesterday. Took a longer walk than planned as it was so nice. Found a cheeky little pub that has a lovely outdoor patio, will be a nice place to hang out as the weather gets warmer.
Cooler today with water from the sky now and then (liquid, not frozen), but starting tomorrow, we start heading into an early spring spring after a very late winter.
It seems that I got in trouble for having pudding with dinner instead of pudding after dinner. It was my own pudding that I got. I am so darn confused.
...sounds very authoritarian and unfair as they seem to always single you out.
True and they waited till the last minute to tell me I am not allowed to eat my own pudding at dinner time.
I forgot to bring my retainer with me to the dentist's office. I guess the pain distracted me. I need to go back to the office tomorrow.
I am not sure why the pudding thing is such a big deal.
Complaint: I had cataract surgery and Medicare is supposed to pay for the new glasses; But in order to have no-line bifocals like my old ones is costing me $250; and to compound the problem I went to pick them up today and the new glasses caused me to see double. Needless to say, I didn't pay for them and now I have to wait another two weeks to get the prescriptioon rechecked.
...ugh, I thought that Medicare didn't cover eye care.
I contacted support about a coupon. They said that I had a freebie in my order which is why the coupon did acted up but I do not recall either of the items being freebies.
...sure it wasn't the weekly one, or one of the DreamLight free tutorials?
Sure it was not.
...interesting. What were the two items?
Garden Flowers Vol 2. Tulip Plants and Urban Action Outfit for Genesis 8 Female(s)
oh I forgot the links https://www.daz3d.com/garden-flowers-vol-2-tulip-plants- is one and still looking for the other.
Non-complaint: Yay! My computer is almost back to fully functional again after my minor panic to clean it up after a security scare. No obvious damage done, but there is a lot of trivial work involved with re-installing software and user data. Will be leaving some old software off. If I haven't used it in the last 5 years why go through the hassle of reinstalling it until I actually need it (if ever).
Crap.

Complaint: The person who offered the prize for the last post in the Last person to comment on this thread wins - Nobody Expects the Spanish Inquisition! thread has declined to provide it.
...yep, niether one was a freebie. The Tulip {;ants were a bonus item for MM but you still had ot pay for it.
I slept in but it is time to get up now.
Yep, I know but it is okay I guess. I do not know?
