..we get freezing fog here in the Northwest on occasion. I remember on a trip to Vancouver BC a while back, we drove into some north of Seattle and the windscreen almost immediately glazed over becoming so difficult to see out of so we had to pull off to the side of the road and scrape the ice off before continuing. Had to pull over a couple more times before we were out of it as the wipers did very little to help.

I messed up.  I only got three parts towards my dream computer but I cannot afford the rest.

Edit that is not including the keyboard and the mouse I got for it.  To make things worse I used a gift card to get the items, so even if I return them I would have about three hundred something stuck in a NewEgg Gift card.  I am not sure what to do.

What parts did you get?  The situation may not be as bad as you think

Ok.  That’s the start.  Just get the next parts as you can and then put it all together .  Lots of people buy their systems a few parts at a time.

..the acids in Tomato sauces actually breaks down the seasoning which is why you don't want to cook it in cast iron.  I use stainless steel when I make my pasta sauce and clean it immediately afterwards.  I brown the sausage in a cast iron though as well as for sauteing the mushrooms and chopped garlic in olive oil.

Sure, but if you do cook it in cast iron, just clean and re-season afterward.  I'm sure my Italian grandmother did precisely that.  Her 11 kids (or was it 13?) apparently survived long enough to have kids of their own.  wink  I was wearing orange today.  A very bright orange.  Kind of happy I didn't go shopping for a pot/pan set today.  angel

..true, but because you don't want to use heavy soap it retains the smell of the sauce for a while afterwards (which isn't pleasant when you use it to cook hotcakes the next morning). Maintaining seasoning is not a bother, having to redo it from scratch is.

A light scouring with water and salt will remove the tastes and smells.

All this fuss over an hour shift in time. frown  This adjustment is easily prepared for by simply adjusting your sleep times by 19.726 seconds every day for six months. cheeky

Complaint:  Shipping costs.angry  How is it that Amazon and many other places can offer free shipping for bazillions of items, yet the suggested big name shipper from a remote auction house gives an estimate of nearly $60 for two small solid glass items that only cost $80 total?  I've had multi-pound solid metal items incapable of breaking if you threw them onto concrete yet shipped in enough padding to protect a clutch of Robin's eggs for less money. indecision  What am I supposed to do?  Call every shipping agency in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida area and ask their prices?  Or better yet drive 1200 miles to pick it up myself?  I've sent back a polite reply indicating my disappointment and requesting that they drop insurance charges.  I'll see what they come back with.

Edited to add:  Non-complaint:  The shipper replied to my polite "I'm-raking-you-over-the-coals" request for a better price devil and he said "I made a mis-quote".indecision  The new price "including free insurance" is $41.00, to which I replied "accepted".  That's about what I expected but still, how does Amazon do it for free? frown

Non-complaint:  Possible mini-adventure on March 17th (St. Patrick's Day).  Sunday afternoon symphony at Severance Hall in Cleveland, Ohio.  The Cleveland Symphony will be performing Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony and there are still seats available.  yes

If I'm a good boy and don't trample all over what's left of my budget for this pay period (ending on the 20th), I could justify the expense of a decent ticket and the 300 mile round-trip drive and flip the cost onto next pay-period's budget. I don't have to worry about traffic because it's on a Sunday.   It's an afternoon concert so I won't have to worry about choosing between finding a ridiculously high priced hotel room (especially on the "bad" side of Cleveland), or driving home in the dark at midnight.

The unknowns are 1) the weather and 2) ticket availability at the time the weather becomes predictable.  So, it's a wait and see situation. indecision

I've gushed about Tchaikovsky's 5th Symphony previously in this forum here: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/4115056/#Comment_4115056  It is one of the all time greats, and to hear it performed by a great orchestra in a beautiful venue like Severance Hall is a treat I'd like to consume.  I've been to the Severance once before and the acoustics were nowhere as clean as in the simple parabolicly curved acoustic surfaces and unembellished plain Art-Deco design lines of Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo but what Kleinhans lacks in elegant ambiance, the Severance has in abundance.  It is a feast for the eyes.  And it has parking under the building like at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.  It would indeed be another memorable mini-adventure. smiley

Funny, I’ve always seen the title of this thread but never really understood it lol. But since “Cats” is in the title, I’ll take this opportunity to show off my new adopted rescue cat from a high kill shelter. He was very sick and malnourished when I got him, wasn’t neutered or chipped, but now after medication, lots of food and love, he’s feeling better and getting full of energy! So happy he wasn’t put down! He loves to be brushed and stare at himself in the mirror lol. He sleeps in my bed laugh So meet Asher...

Hello to Asher from Wonderland. yes

We're approaching page 100.  It's almost time to pick another title for this thread's next incarnation.  I'm still rooting for "The Unimportant Complaints Complaint Thread"  1st poster at top of next incarnation gets to name it cool
