The G2 and G3 items are not showing up at $3.99 as advertised.
Hickup in the Platinummy Sale it seems... no $ 3.99 items to be seen... Genesis 2 and 3 items are all at $ 4.99
...and I haven't even checked for the Platinum Member additional 10% off

Extra PC 10% discount works this way: $4.99*(1-0.3)*(1-0.1)= $3.14 or $3.15, not $4.99*(1-(0.3+0,1))

Little help to the mods.
I really like the look of the New York Stores product, but I can't help wondering if I could actually use it, legally. Atleast some of the names in there is bound to be trademarked I'm sure, the Hennessy one in particulary but likely also The Hog's Head pub. And possible the others, but they weren't ones that stood out for me.
I am the first to admit I am unsure how it would work, and if perhaps I am wrong in my concern about using the product, but I felt it better to ask in advance (can't buy it now anyway, but it Is a interesting one so better to ask now and know before I end buying :) )
I appreciate the sales and items that have been included in the MM however it feels like 95% of it is geared toward 'people' items. Is there a chance that props, environments, and such will start to be included more in the related madness items. Or could you include more sellers in the Mad Artists section that mainly creates props, environments, lighting and such? Pretty Please.
I always wonder how this whole trademarking business works... like.. Hennessy. Yeah, it's a Cognac. But there's still people whose name is Hennessy, so what would they be supposed to name their business? And "Hog's Head"? Shouldn't there be at least about 10 of those in Britain?
What makes me wonder about these NY streets is something different:
Not getting the extra 10% for PC+ members, or is that just with a new release? The blurb is "Get an EXTRA 30% OFF* these items when you buy any new release. PC+ Members get an EXTRA 10% OFF*"
Trademarks are only enforceable within categories. Even using Hennessy as an example, the name has been used by the cognac, a (former) department store and a performance tuning company. And Hog's Head is generally considered fairly generic - as maikdecker suggests, there are quite a few Hog's Head pubs already in existence (outside of just Harry Potter), as it's a play on the term "hogshead" being a large cask of (frequently alcoholic) liquid.
Trademarks at their core protect against misrepresention of a product in a way that's liable to cause confusion; unless you're using your render to go on the outside of a new range of liquor bottles, having a pub called Hennessy's in the background of one of your images isn't liable to cause anyone to inadvertently purchase a product thinking it's affliated with the Cognac company.
(Disclaimer - my understanding is mostly of UK law, but there are certainly strong similarities going on in US law).

i think the extra 10% off for pc+ members IS indeed when you also buy a new release = same sentence. i added just 1 item and it was 3.99$, with a random new release it went down to 2.51$
I'd love that as well, but I don't expect to see much more than what we have already. After all, there are a lot more vendors who only do people items, and something like three times as many people items, couniting poses, as there is everything else, in the store... plus there is far less incentive for the sellers who make props and sets to discount them as they don't age the way the human products do. I'm still using a lot of props that were made in the V3 days and with a quick application of the Iray uber shader they look great, but there are a lot of people who'll drop using an entire generations of figures as soon as something new and sparkly is introduced.
You are right, the prices dropped when I tried that after seeing your post. No New items that I really want, that I haven't already picked up. But the 2 Platinummy Items I've had in my wishlist are $15+ each at full PC+ price--which I am happy with.
The only new item I am interested in is the hospital hallway... but it's only iray, so I'm deciding whether I want it enough to retexture it... see how I feel after work. I am about to start homeschooling one of my offspring, so my patience may be thinner on such things than it has been previously :-)
The Bonus Buyer Tulips count as a new release to get the discount on the Platinummy Flash Sale, as does *any* new release from the store that still has the "New" banner on the top right corner of the main image, so you don't necessarily need to buy a Newly Mad or Still Mad release, about anything released during the past two months will suffice.
Well that promo works with any new release. For me, adding a new PC+ item dropped the price of my cart by almost $10 USD. :)

Yeah, there wasn't anyhing I was desperate for as I'd picked over her catalog pretty heavily already and there were only 78 out of the 432 that I didn't have... but at these prices I bought a couple of dozen just for kitbashing and background stuff.
It does say "new" not "Newly Mad." I made that mistake the first time I read it.
But I've already gotten the new models I was interested in, except for the tulips. They do look nice, but I just bought a flower set and I have a bunch of the Lisa's Botanicals flowers that will probably look just as good once I add the Iray Base shader.
For the Platinummy sale. ;)
