...seconding the call for more reasonable looking winter/cold weather clothing as well.

Also old west and cyberpunk clothing that doesn't have bare bellies, shoulders, or wide open cleavage/chest areas.

...and clothing more appropriate for teen and younger characters.

More clothing with bare bellies, shoulders, or wide open cleavage/chest areas ! winkJK

I find I am looking more and more for small accessory type clothing bits that add to pinup images, gloves, bodices, corsets, body jewelry, strappy bits, etc.

I am also still waiting for a quality tactical set that can be kitbashed, pilot uniforms and dress uniforms

i am wondering if I can successfully rig this for GM8 https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/military/armor/bulletproof-vest-4 since it is EXACTLY what I need.

A set of midieval curl toed shoes with lots of variety. Including the tie around the ankle type.  Not an outfit with some “elf shoes” thrown in. I mean lots of morphs giving control of lengths ant types as well as texture sets. Preferallbly realistic but I also like fun stuff.

Cod pieces of a bazillion different types. Everything from mad max crazy to midieval to simple leather.

High heels for men. In particular I am thinking of Victorian era style but some fantasy types might be fun too.

More natural materials for the armor.  Almost everything comes out in metal. I’d like to see them come out with a metal, bone, shell, scale, leather, and wood texture.

    Yes to all of this!

Plus a sort of cross between a duster and a great-cloak, something with lots of folds of fabric, like The Shadow.  In fact, I would like massive, billowing, rippling cloaks - like the flying fabrics, but with collars.  I don't even care if they have no morphs, I want folds!  Also, Loli skirts with fluffy petticoats that you can see.  Rigged, easy-pose hair-ribbons, with BIG bow add ons.

A medieval Ukranian split-sleeve coat.  That's an ask for a friend, who bemoans its lack constantly :-D  If I was going to make an historical wishlist, it would be endless... Italian Renaissance sleeves... oooohhhhh....

BTW, here are some examples of the kind of suits I'm hoping for, just for starters. With a morphable tie knot, so I'm not stuck with some tiny thing. Also, we don't need the tie to go around the neck. It only needs to fit in the space between the collar, which should not be pointing east and west. Luthbel could do it, but he doesn't do morphs. Stonemason could bring back his clothing line. But I won't hold my breath.

IH Kang puts points on women's suit jackets' shoulders, but the men's suit jackets' shoulders are rounded (except for the Double-Breasted G3M). But the women's don't fit my men very nicely. He made a Genesis men's suit with a shoulder point morph dial. It had other morphs too. But those days are gone. I think I'll dust it off. Maybe Sickleyield will make me a pointed shoulder morph for G3/8M.

The shirt should be a dickey prop: It will not move with the neck, just as an actual shirt collar of a tied dress shirt does not bend.

I'd love to see more informal wear, for men especially: some thick sweaters, cardigans with buttons that don't deform and a range of morphs.

Realistically boned corsets of all types that restrict movement and do not bend. And if they just stopped the s shaped wave on the corset I would be happy.

    Yes!

Added to this, the option of corsets that actually tie up where corsets should tie up. Basically every single one on the store seems to tie up at the top or bottom instead of at the waist/narrowest point!

Not quality. Especially for men’s clothing. Particularly collars that actually look more realistic.  Shirt collars don’t lust lay flat. Not even polo shirt collars.  More detail. Buttons. Zippers.  Jackets coats and shirts that open. Yes I understand that including d-force makes this sort of thing more difficult but d-force is not always going to be the best solution.

When I think about what I've bought for Genesis 2, 3, & 8 I basically have all the modern popular generic styles of work, casual, and formal wear. Of that it could all stand oodles of more textures and drapability but the drapability DAZ Studio really can't do and I know of and have tried dForce. The best I've seen consistently is the clothing the Mal3Imagery (or something like that) does using MD & Blender. DAZ 3D clothing can't do that because he's draping in MD/Blender anew for each new pose.

Of the subject of textures I've bought a lot of PC+ and PA iRay texture sets, meant for clothing mostly but also ground, walls, and floors and other things like metals, glass, animals and so on, that I can't quite know how to use because I have no guide that says each tilable texture square is 1cmx1cm area for example. So then if I know the original tile's dimensions, even without a DAZ model's measurements, I could still make a reasonable guess with how much tiling the texture square needs even if the some clothing with the same textures was put on models ranging from 3' to 8' for example.

Non-fetish military uniforms, men’s underwear, another tux, sexy men’s boxers and briefs.

conforming is fine. Not a fan of dforce men’s wear.

Period costumes. All eras. There's some in the store that are in a period style with a whole lot of artistic license, but very few that are era accurate.

Business clothes that look real. Retro fifties clothes. What there is for "normal" clothes people don't wear those types of outfits. Very few options for "normal" that look real.

Thinking about it, I'd like some Shaker-style stuff.

  • My only mournful note is that all these things would probably be for G8... sadly useless for me. crying  However, I would rejoice for the happiness of others!

Bloomers, definitely.  Suspenders that don't stick to the torso.  Neckcloths in different fold-patterns, Medieval clothes with their seams in the right place.  I won't even touch Elizabethan - not sure how modelling pleats works, but I'm pretty sure cartridge pleating is at least as painful to model as it is to sew up!

I've noticed they all have pockets which make them more a uniform than real scrubs which don't have pockets. Scrubs are made to be put on quickly. The top is looser and there is no difference between front and back (hence no time wasted deciding which side is 'supposed to be' the front). Grab from a pile of folded scrubs and pull over your head. Same scrubs for male and female.

On the first page someone pointed out this link to photos of the design, then execution, of clothing for "Godless". circa the late 1800's on the Colorado plains...

This stuff, to me is gobsmacking and exactly the type of thing I'm looking for.

    https://clothesonfilm.com/homecoming-betsy-heimann-on-costuming-godless/36539/

Looks like an interesting site for inspiration as well. (added: I just finished a book on the Osage Murders and the birth of the FBI. Around the same period (and a bit later) and the birth of the FBI which added to my interest in the general period and location. Since the beginning of the story took place in Oklahoma in the late 1800's)

I've only been doing 3D art for a couple of years now, but it seems like the V4 era had a lot of really big elaborate outfits and armour that I'd love to see brought to the newer gen. I've tried transferring some of those types of outfits to the newer gens but due to their "largeness", things get warped, even with really good transfer scripts like RiversoftArt and Sickleyield's.

We get awesome elaborate outfits like that every once in a while but they're very few and far between:

There are already some amazing V4 era pieces that would be great to be able to use on the new generations.

There are SO MANY great Victoria 4 era pieces and it's such a shame that they don't transfer well via clones or scripts. I think if some took the time to bring those already sculpted gorgeous outfits and updated them for the newer gen, it would be amazingly good! I think a lot of people would love to be able to use those highly detailed and elaborate outfits on the newer generations without the warps and misfits that often come with trying to transfer them ourselves via cones and such. Most automated transfer methods just don't do well with the larger, more elaborate, outfits. Not to mention fiddling with the mats and settings to get them Iray compatible.

If some of the gorgeous, elaborate V4 outfits could be updated and brought to the newer gen, I think that would be AWESOME! :)
