Yes, thanks! (Turns out I *have* that outfit - just haven't had time to use it enough to recognize it.)
one thing that would be nice with these DO figures is more makeup & seperate makeup options. We get from PA characters several makeup options including seperate ones for lipstick, eyeshadows, blush, nails and such even options to create our own but not with these offical figures though we did get tattoos with Eva but still some more and seperate makeup options would be nice addition considering how much we pay even just for the base figure compared to what PA's offer and they cost less - oh and yes I have all of Zev0's skin builders
Divamakeup’s Altern8 product is quite good for helping bring out hidden detail in textures. You might take a look at that if you’re still looking for a way to bring out extra detail in Eva’s default textures. Your renders with other skins and settings look really good, though.
Could someone post an image of Jax without Eva 8 please. I might buy her just for the tattooed skin, but I don't want Eva.
It was created autonomously by algorithms I’ve been developing for more than 2 decades. Always nice to hear that somebody likes the output, so thanks for that @benniewoodell!
Here’s another one of vanilla Eva wearing the Sci-Fi Battle Outfit:
Really liking this bundle and the add-ons - looking forward to trying the dForce Hip Hop clothes next.
- Greg
I don't know if this is exactly what you wanted, but here's a quick render I just did, loading just Jax and tossing the Aldeberran outfit on her.
Thanks. I'd like to see a closeup of Jax's face with Eva completely dialled out though, just to see what the shape is like. Although, ultimately it's really only the tattoo that I like - the character looks kind of bland, like Eva herself. It's just that the promos aren't very good, so you can't even tell if the skin is decent looking.
Oh, ok. I'm rendering another shot - I set up a "duplicate node heirarchies" of Jax for two identical bodies and shifted one to 0% Eva/100% Jax and the other to 100% Eva/0% Jax, then zoomed in on the faces. We'll see how that works.
Great, thanks again.
Render stopped at about 68% complete so I could get it posted for you before we shut down the office. Jax is to your left, Eva is to your right.
That hair is gorgeous though, I got it as soon as it came out
Thank you. These renders are exactly what I needed to see.
Oh, great! Glad I was able to help!
Went ahead and bought Jax. As expected, the face is a bit bland without Eva, but a quick tweak with Rarestone's G8F Face Morphs makes her a lot more interesting looking.
Thanks.
So, what is the long white hair used on the Eva scrolling promo banner? It isn't part of the bundles, apparently.
looks like an AprilYsh hair. Maybe Whitney hair?
Puts me in mind of Delphi Hair. It will definitely track over the eye like that.
Eva 7 for Eva 8 with Eva 8 skin. Default translucensy: 0.9. Render time 6 min.
@xyer0 Here you go. Left hand is Genesis 8 Female with Eva 8 skin textures, center is Eva 8, right hand, just for kicks, is Eva 8 with Girl 8 skin textures. Yeah, it looks like the folds are part of the skin texture.
I looked directly at the face textures for both Eva 7 and Eva 8 in Photoshop. Eva 8 does have a very subtle bit of a line on either side of the nose. Eva 7's textures do not. But frankly, it looks to me as if postwork removed the lines; The skin in that area looks less detailed than the skin around it. In fact, the complete Eva 7 face texture looks "soft focus" to me, where the Eva 8 texture shows the details of skin pores and such. I personally like the Eva 8 face texture better, but I frequently render my female characters without makeup. Here's a visual comparison for you, side-by-side.
@LosingSignal & @L'Adair Thank you guys so much! What a nice Saturday surprise for me! The Eva 7 lines, though postworked out, do show up subtly in renders, which is why Eva 7's skin flunked out of my leading lady contention. Looks like Eva 8 is out of contention as well. I had difficulty finding a young Caucasian skin that kept details and rendered photorealistically in CU and distant. Zelara 8 looks to have finally won out, but I wondered why her natural lips were so red. I saw Ghost in the Machine again yesterday and realised that Major was the inspiration for Zelara's skin. Thanks again for helping me out.
L'Adair, I didn't know how to type your name so it will link properly to you; so, I copied it.
Have you looked at young characters for skin? Molly, either G3F or G8F, Teen Princess Leila for G3F, as well as the Daz base Teen figures and PA characters for them? (I don't have Zelara, so I have no opinion on her skin materials.)
My username uses a "stop" character, the apostrophe, and prevents the forum software from creating the link or the notification. The name is a contraction of two names, though, and I'm not willing to give up the apostrophe! (Stubborn old lady, I am.)
Eva 8 has Granny Hands!
*All the following renders done with the same 2 lights. First render is default Eva with medium translucency. You should be able to see the full size image with a right click, view image or open image in a new tab.
Look how angry Eva is! I'd be pretty unhappy too if my hands looked like Grandma's. There are 2 reasons for this. First the main texture has a lot going on her knuckles for some reason. The second is her normal maps are way too strong in this area. Its not as bad without the normals, but as I said the main texture still has a lot of lines on her knuckles. Its kind of werid.
Someone mentioned trying Altern8 on her, I have that. This is the Victoria 8 preset.
I'm not sure if it suits her. Her nose is reddish like she has a cold. Perhaps I could lower the translucency or try another preset. But I moved on to a totally different skin.
Here is Eva with Caitlyn's skin from the bundle. She's also using Caitlyn's firber brows.
Not bad, not bad at all. This is right out of the box. Her hands look much better, too.
How about going totally off base and using good old Dfeault Genesis 3 Jeane's skin. This is with my own surface settings.
She looks even angrier!
Funny enough, somebody mentioned Zelara, I had already made a test with her skin, too. This is default Zelara, she can be much nicier with a couple minor tweeks.
This one using BJ Misumi skin, still using Caitlyn's brows.
That's quite nice, IMO. Maybe Eva can start smiling again?
I wanted to experiment. I wanted to use Misumi's settings with Eva's skin. Eva's diffuse textures came out too orange (surprise), so I switched it up and used her SSS maps in the base color and transluncency sections.
Boom goes the dynamite!
So to get this result, I used Misumi's settings and Misumi's roughness/reflectivity maps. I only used Eva's SSS maps, and Caitlyn's brows.
Inariably there are a lot of opinions flying in both directions when a new Pro Bundle is released. I've come to realize one thing about myself. I am a completist. Whereas the male pro bundles really have to grab me, I WANT to have every single female pro bundle in inventory. The discounts for buying previous pro bundles really add up. Eventually, Daz will do that thing they do and get me in an offer I can't refuse. Today's assorted promotions had me spending $62.29 on items commerically valued at $592.55. That's a discount of $530.25. Short of giving up the hobby altogether, I don't see how I can resist such a deal. I wind up getting virtually every old pro bundle I ever even remotely wanted but never purchased for free at some point.
This time is was the Supersuit Pro Bundle. I still really dig Genesis and have wanted that bundle forever but could never quite make myself get it due to not rendering super hero type stuff very often. I also snagged the
Sunny 7 Pro Bundle. There's a hair in the outfit I've eyed for a long time as well. not a bad day as fars hobby spending goes. Not a bad day at all. AND, I got the swanky new Eva bundle to boot. So really, for me it comes down to the deal more than just what I think of a new character.
I'm more the opposite. If it's a male, I want it. (Though it was a tough sell on Dwayne!) With the females, the offer has to be too good to pass up. I've bought female pro bundles when the cost of the bundle was only a couple dollars more than the figure and two hairs that I really wanted. But I've got so [bleep] many females in my runtime now, I really, really don't need any more. (Which, of course, doesn't stop me from buying, especially Mousso's gals. I picked up the special offer within an hour or so of the sales page finally showing up.)
I agree about the deal, though, up to a point. There are female pro bundles I won't even bother picking up for free because none of the clothing appeals to me. By the time they are free, I've already bought the hair, (one or both, if they appeal to me,) and maybe the base figure. (The pose sets never sway me. I know I'm in the minority, but it wouldn't bother me one bit if Daz dropped both pose sets from future bundles and gave us the HD Add-on instead.)
The bundle was worth the price to me this time because I really like Eva and both included characters, as well as both hairs. Except for the Sci-Fi Battle Outfit, (which I like, even if I don't have a clue when I would use it,) I'm not thrilled with the clothing in the bundle. Hopefully I'll be able to kitbash parts of those to come up with something a real woman might wear. (Again, I'm in the minority! lol)
I love the detail on Eva's skin, and I like that she looks like someone I could meet in a local department store, or in line at the Home Depot. This is one female bundle I have no buyers remorse over.
I am really loving the pro bundle contents I must say.
