OK, I bit the bullet. Here is a VERY QUICK (unfinished) test render of her and Evelyn hair out of the box, default Daz HDRI. She takes a long time to render or it could be the Evelyn hair, also right out of the box, no tweaks at all. She doesn't look very orange to me. (But I live in LA where most people are tan or use fake tanning...) OK, average face, kind of reminds me of Lillith 7. Will have to test more later...
One more super quickie with no expression. She looks kinda sad... The light reflects well in her eyes though just from the default HDRI.
Another quick test. The eye liner is WAY too extreme...

The funny thing is, had Daz offered this deal with Lee 8, I'd have purchased him immediately and not bothered buying a gift Card, even at 20% off. Instead, I added him to the cart when I had a sizable GC at 30% off, day one of the Holiday Rewards sale, and the discounts stacked! I actually paid about $40 less by adding Lee's pro bundle to the cart. Of course, that wasn't what Daz intended and they fixed that first thing the following morning.
But the point is, I'd have paid the intro price had the incentives been the same as we see today for Eva.
Being one of the Owners of the purple banner which marks me as a pretty easy sale *ahem* I think the problem is this one is that it's a gene pool character that doesn't seem to add much to the gene pool and the outfits in the bundle are all over the place. I don't have any real attachment to the character, or the theme becuase there isn't any. A lot of the other characters this generation have pushed the envelope, this one doesn't. That said, I pretty much have gone through the gift card I bought at the beginning of the sale (Did I mention I got one of the purple banners saying "Hey, you bought everything already" yet?), sooo it may be time for the regiment to reinvest.
There isn't anything wrong with the character or bundle, there just isn't anything memorable about it.

She, combined with hair, especially the Bob hair, takes a long time to render, even to congeal on screen!
So, question is will the banner (discount on gift card, 10% on "today's releaes") be still valid tomorrow? Should as the banner for Lee was available at least a week or so.
So far, my impressions: Takes expressions weirdly, hard to make her look happy. There’s a melancholic look to her. She may mix well, haven’t tested that yet. I think the skin looks better than the promos. Takes excruciatingly long time time just to congeal on screen with the two new hairs. (I have a 1080 ti). Bob Hair has no real stylistic morphs, mostly just for fitting. Morphs on Evelyn Hair, not that great either although there are a lot. She does have a specific look, so not generic. She doesn’t look Swedish which I thought she was supposed to be based on Eva 7. Interesting character though to add to gene pool. She looks about 35-ish.

Second edit, there are 8 style morphs under Cute Bob Hair (I was looking at the hair cap only.) But it slows DS to a crawl and might crash it...!
I have 4 Genesis 8 Pro Bundles and other Genesis 8 base character products but am surprise I did not get the extra loyalty discount Genesis 8 Pro Bundle banner as others have.
Well, mine says it is because I already own ALL the Genesis 8 Pro Bundles that were released in 2017
I was on the fence, but like the textures; here's Eva with default G3 shape and Eva 8 shape. Eva 8 is scaled to 97.6%, whereas Eva 7 was 101%.
I have all the Genesis 3 Pro Bundles and all but one of the Genesis 8 Pro Bundles from the offer but no banner.
According to the message, it's pretty restricted: "Our records indicate that you have previously purchased all of our Genesis 8 Pro Bundles that were released in 2017." So not having even just one means no banner.
Cute Bob Hair is EXTREMELY computer intensive. Slows everything down to a crawl (in close-up, haven’t tried from a distance..)
Hmmm, well that's odd criteria then to offer loyalty bonus for buying DAZ Pro bundles that some have said they have gotten. Maybe they mixed up the Holidy Loyalty Banner with a banner for buying past G8 bundles.
I'm pretty sure the intent is that you get the extra bonus if you can't get one of the Pro Bundles for free. It's more like a substitute prize instead of a loyalty bonus.

You are going to need a really good computer to render Eva 8 plus Cute Bob Hair in close-up, even at a small size. On a 1080ti, at 10 minutes and still at 0% and ridiculously grainy...
From the product page: "You should be aware that all fiber hairs are by their nature high on memory usage and may slow down lower end systems, but once loaded the hair typically renders faster than trans-mapped hair." I've never found that to be the case. Fibermesh hair just slows my renders down every time.
I am curious how the hip hop pants and jacket fit Michael 8. If anyone could show a brief render I would appreciate it.
I did a couple of different renders and I believe you're right, the Cute Bob hair is a bit intensive.

I do think the Cute Bob hair looks great though, and if you're not in a hurry, worth the wait, imo. :) I do like both of these hairs though, you can never have enough cute bob hair, imo. lol
OMG, this is forum size, at almost 40 minutes, still 0% and slowing down my whole computer to the point my curser keeps going wonky. I have a 1080ti. If Cute Bob Hair wasn't part of the bundle, I'd return it....

I'd say part of that super slow render time is due to the default "8" skin settings which load at 90% translucency. That can REALLY slow things down too. Using one of the lower Translucency settings can speed up render times as well as get rid of the "orange" that some have mentioned.
But yeah, the Cute Bob Hair is a bit intensive as well.
I know Redz always adds a caution to listings saying how intensive the hairs are, and my computer is about the lowest spec you can get and still Daz/iray dforce on etc, but I've never had a single problem with a Redz hair chewing up resources until today and I do have a few of them. I stopped it mid-render and knew it would have to wait until the far-off day when I get a beefier machine. Much as I love Redz' stuff, if I hadn't got it so cheaply then I probably would have returned it too. As it was, I abandoned plans to get another two Redz hairs later today.
I forgot Eva 7 existed.
I haven't been wowed by Eva 8. But, I do like her tattoos. She's still a "pass" for me. :/ (a.k.a. Thanks, but no thanks Daz3D).
Eva 8 was a bit slow with high translucency but still doable (I don’t mind the orange, reminds me of LA fake tans LOL) but I’ll try with a lower one. It rendered slowly but at least it rendered. It crashed twice in closeup with the Cute Bob hair though. It’s definitely the hair that’s causing the problem. I might try the hair with a different character and see what happens. I’m sure the closeup is making it worse, but I do a lot of larger renders so this combo for me is unusable.
I've tried the hair with the basic G8F and find the results much the same. It's still too much of a stretch for my go-slow machine :(
Huh. There's been a couple of changes in the packaging. Not sure what that was about.
It's in the Data folder: Instead of everything being in subfolders all under DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/female There's now a DAZStudio folder up at the very top level, where the eyebrows live. And inside the old DAZ 3D folder there's the expected Genesis 8 subfolder *and* an Eva 8 subfolder which holds all of the tattoos.
So does that mean that the tattoos are not tied specifically to the female mesh? The G8 Female and Male subfolders are inside a different main folder (the DAZ 3D folder) and two levels down. Or that they aren't tied even to G8, since the Genesis 8 subfolder is also a level down inside a different folder (along with the G3 subfolder which uses the same UV set). Or have they just been changing things to be changing things?
Awesome! I love her. She's great! I got the pro bundle, the p3d character morphs and all the add on models, plus sunny 7 pro for free. All for just under $87.
Can't beat that all. Daz is awesome!
