Bit disappointing how much it had to be changed from the original release. Would love to see some DAZ renders when you get a chance.
The first image is from Studio right out of the box. The geometry is good. If Sixus1 provided the original textures as a freebie this would be a great product. The second image is my first attempt at new textures in Carrara. I was going for more of the comic book look. The skin color isn't right yet.
Hmmm. I do like the guantlet and the suit a bit better than my kitbashed attempt, but the new face just doesn't look right. Seems like the draw to getting this product now is just the outfit and gauntlet. Do you know if it is posisble to alter the textures on his face, or is the shape and morph going to make that to difficult?
So I ahve tried tweaking his skin and costume. Still not 100% happy with this one. Though I do like this face better than Sixus1 new take on it.
I do like the face on your Thanos. Sixus1' geometry is very good. It looks like all they did was change the textures. I wonder what your textures would look like on their model.
Well I think Les got a copyright infringment notice and had no choice but to change things. I think his updated one, while it's not exact, is a very nice product!
That looks great now that I see it without his textures. I am using a diffuse and displacement map that I made in Photoshop to achieve mine, so I imagine that I could repeat that with his product. I really love what you did with his suit. Does his suit have good zones for changing the textures in daz? That is the problem with the armor outfit I am using right now, if I change the shaders the whole thing is just a gold blob. I am tries to modify the textures directly in photoshop in my last pass.
Can you post any more pics showing the gauntlet itself with the infinity stones?
RamWolf. It’s a great product. It poses and renders very well. The sculpting is excellent.
Alrighty. So here is a new test with Sixus1 Galactic Tyrant. What I did here is used his body and head morph and blended into my original attempt and using my skin textures instead. This is also using a G2M model instead of G3. I also changed out all shaders to try and emulate the classic look at bit more. One thing I can't figure out is why when I pose the figure the clothing items seem to warp in weird ways. So on the glove, you can see that things don't look so great. The gems are all stretched like goo and the wrist gets all twisted. Is this because the items are autofit to G2M? Anyone seen behavior like that?
Gemini,
i think the glove issue is due to auto fitting. I also see a lot of distortion in the shirt around the neck.
Hmmm. Yeah. I need to try it on the G3M character and see how it looks.
Ok, so here is a test of all default. Normal figure and clothing (G3) with no auto fit. I did apply a shader but that shouldn't matter. As you can see in the image, twist the forearm results in the weird warping issue again. Also, the gemstones, though not as bad as on the G2M autofit, are also being stretched when you make a fist. Most noticably the index finger one.
Don't think Tarzan really counts as a super hero...but here ya go
Ungawa Tantor!
Whoah. That's is really nice. Great lighting!
How do you get the gloves to appear only on one arm? When i tried to make one glove transperent, the arm below it isn't there...
I use Carrara so it might be different in Studio. I created a new shading domain for the right gauntlet and made it transparent.
The easist way is to select the gloves themselves, not the arms of the characer, and then hide the individual bones (using the eye icon) of the left or right forearm - hand - fingers. That is how I did it.
Galactic Tyrant with Old Chap texture...
Nice!
I am not asking about hiding the glove. I know how to do that. However, when the glove is hidden, the hands and forarm of the figure itself is missing. It's as if the arms are hidden, but they are not, because the eye icon is active.
Interesting. I had not noticed this problem before because I had autofit the clothing items to my original custom G2M Thanos character. It hides correctly on any G2M from what I can tell, but I tested now on the included Tyrant character and two other G3M figures and yes if you hide any bones for gloves, boots or pants (or the entire items themselves) the corresponding body parts vanish as well. Strange.
I'm having the same issue in Carrara. However, I was able to get it to work correctly a few days ago. (See my image above.) I oppened the same file today and now the hands are hidden. If I don't fit the gloves to the figure the hands come back. Very odd.
That actually sounds like a Geometry Swap, rather than a Conformer, so the glove actually IS the hand. (Those who've played around with older-model figures, especially P3-P6 males or Mike2, or S1Media's "Project Human" line, will recognize the Gens Off hip swap.)
Daz Studio? That sounds like a GeoGraft - it hides selected faces on the base figure when fitted. You can't (easily) remove the effect entirely, but you can edit the AutoHide group so the bits you want are visible.
Switch to the Geometry Editor and right-click in the Viewport>Geoemtry Select>Select By>Follower Auto Hidden faces>gloves, then right-click>Geometry Selection>Deselect By>Face groups>and keep selecting the bones for the hand you don't want hidden, until the whole hand is deselected. Finally right-click>Geometry Assignment>Set Auto-Hide faces for Attachment and pick the gloves. If you now switch back to a posing tool and fit the gloves to none and then back to the figure the hand should be visible.
I sent Sixus a message, and he said he will have a fix for the glove coming this week.
For you Rocketeer fans, a Rocketman suit is now over at Rendo.
I still like this fanart though!
