"Aiko" can mean many things, depending on the (Japanese) characters used to spell it. I had hoped Aiko 8 might have lived up to the spelling for "Love child" but this is more like the spelling for "Iced coffee". Not impressed, as Aiko should be a more or less Japanese character.
She definitely feels like a commitment to the 'Video game character' approach of Aiko 7.
Why whitewash Aiko? Perhaps it is to justify Aiko 7 for Aiko 8? I mean, she's quite cute. But why?
Aiko 8 looks like a White girl now. Hehe..
At least Aiko 7 looked partly-asian. This one just looks like another repetitive American teen :(
I'm seeing a bit of Aiko 3 in her face (mouth shape is similar, eyebrows, etc.). I think she's adorable!
Looking forward to an Asian version of A8! Once I acquire her (waiting to see if a deal on previous Aiko pro bundles might be incoming, so far no), I'll take a stab at doing an A8 version of that A3.8 thingie I've been tinkering with - I have several versions already, based on Sakura 8, Karyssa 8, etc in my project.. I'm still working on that, but I'm currently tackling a 'simpler' product involving furniture first (which is mostly done, just need to round out the set I have so far). Once I get a handle on how to properly scale the .obj files from hexagon, and fine tune the shader/material settings, and figure out the whole product packaging thing... well one thing at a time!

Aiko 7 was.... not really Asian. I mean, compare some of the excellent Gen 8 Asian characters we've had released recently to Aiko 7. Aiko 8 is definitely of the same 'type' as Aiko 7... it's just not as easily labelled as 'anime' or 'Japanese.' 'Square-Enix,' maybe.
Likes? No. Dislikes? No. Instant Buy? No.
Aiko 8 just looks like a Disney princess, not anime-ish or Japanese at all.
Well, HP Yuka is cool, but not convincing enough to make me buy the bundle.

I dunno, she looks mixed and able to morph between the two personas.
In this release, that first Promo is more ...well, you know.
It's a decent deal for the Pro plus four addons, if you weren't hoping for two free Pro Bundles instead.... I dislike her eyeshadow intensely, and I'd like to have seen some 'mixed with other Gen 8 Features' in the promos. I guess those will show up here eventually. I'm currently going back and forth on whether I want to get her now or not. On the one hand, I do like a number of her includes and add-ons and it IS a good deal and I DID budget for a new character.... but on the other hand I just got Karyssa, who suits my tastes a bit more in the big-eyed-girls field.

Aiko hasn't been Asian since A4, and even then not really, since she had already shifted to a style of character who I gather was usually presented as caucasian. And she's been a game-style figure ever since transitioning to Genesis. Usually an attractive one.
At any rate, this one is very much in the same style progression as A5 and later. Without the oddly mature look of of A7. (Which puts her somewhat counter to the rest of the G8 series, apart from Teen Josie.)
The A7 for A8 product was unexpected. And unexplaned. I'm assuming it ports over the A7 UVs? DAZ's G3 bases were all released with proprietary UVs which meant that their individual base skins don't automatically work on G8, even though everything made for the standard G3 base usually does. (And if the product does that, we may have a reason why none of the figures introduced as G3 bases have made a reappearance yet. It's the stupid proprietary UVs that their original skins were built for, and therefore need a utility to be able to reuse them on anything later.)
At any rate we finally get a SciFi suit which doesn't have a hole in it anywhere, and even though the boots have heels, they are fairly stable solid heels. Like a western boot, rather than a stilletto.
The heels of the sci fi suit are the best part!!! i love light up heeled boots, very cool :)
can't view any other content for aiko bundle (all those 404) only the main promo images... but Pei was more of an Aiko than Aiko 8, IMHO. Still interested in base morph for Aiko 8, eventually. Wish I could see the others- HP chars are always a must, and I love P3D's girls. I like the cute outfit with suspenders, but can't tell if it comes with shoes? My g8 is lacking in those! I can't see the jumper outfit either. Augh all the 404's in the store are just depressing. I hope there's a massive catch sale that gives all these discounts again because right now, Daz is loosing my sales because I can't see stuff in the store. :(

Try adding a "/" at the end of the URL - that gets rid of the 404 and lets the site load the page (at least for me).
As usual for me lately, I really like the PA derivatives of the character, but don't like Aiko 8 herself. I may just get the PA characters without Aiko 8 and do my own morphs combining Karrissa, Teen Josie and a ton of other morphs I have. Not really thrilled with the bundle and no free bundle incentives. I really like the hair though, will probably just get that and three PA characters...
And what is Aiko 7 for Aiko 8??? One of the characters require it. I never liked Aiko 7 either, but got it for PA morphs. Maybe PAs should be making the Daz Originals? I am not liking the base characters at all lately except Edward, Charlotte, Sakura and Teen Josie (which was Thorne, a PA...) I really liked Aiko 3, 4, 5 & 6, not sure what happened...

I had a feeling she would either have a DISSIDIA Final Fantasy NT or Kingdom Hearts III aesthetic to her.
But yeah, Aiko hasn't really been "Anime" since Gen 4. Aiko 5 was more of a fantasy J-Pop star, Aiko 6 was a Asian sci-fi pin-up girl, Aiko 7 looked like Elisabeth from Bioshock infinite, now Aiko 8 looks like a DLC Final Fantasy character. This dosen't surprise me, given that Kenji was pretty much a bootleg Cloud Strife from FFVII.
As someone who first dabbled with DAZ starting with Genesis 8, not getting even one free bundle is disappointing. All of the G8 pro bundles before Aiko 8 gave buyers 3 bundles. DAZ has changed their sales starting last January when they now require additional add-ons to get discounts with the pro bundle. If I remember correctly, from 2, then 3, and now we're at 4 additional products.
And speaking of promo pics, the best looking render I found in the Aiko 8 sales page has a product not even sold here. Salem is wearing the Maid Outfit found at the other store. Whoever made that render sold me on the outfit.

After I found it (using Google, I just checked and it's also on the main shop page), and put it in my cart, along with A8 pro and five related addons (note that I only needed four related addons for the max discount), and it's showing 85% off/3.68 in my cart (I'm PC+, dunno if that helps) So I guess it's part of the A8 sale somehow, based on the discount...
I fully agree. She should be Asian (Japanese) looking.
Aiko 8 is going to be the first 8 pro bundle I don't buy, I don't want to incentivate DAZ to continue on bad march madness practices like this rising to higher prices (50% off or no extra bundless with it)
Redz already has Genesis 3 character UVs for Genesis 8.
Singular Blues also had a free morph transfer script (G3-to-G8) which was deleted or removed from the forum.
I honestly feel this suit ftst better for a medieval setting than sci-fi.
She has lost that anime feel of the previous iterations Aiko, with Aiko 6 to me being the last of the anime look Aiko..
Yeah I found that as well, to me Alexandra 8 Pro bundle was far more worth it than the Aiko 8 Pro bundle. Also the other interesting thing is the size of the pro packs now.
Wow, I think she is ok, though this is the first one I'm not jumping to buy. I think Mirai is a much better character in this genre. I agree Aiko has not been an anime style character in along time. I'm happy she is not though after investing already in Sakura, which is anime as you can get. So weird Aiko has no awesome incentive to buy, like the other characters. Good thing. I have spent too much on the last few bundles, because of the free bundles! ;)
