God bless you, SickleYield!!! With the absence of a Genesis 8 version of Wear Them All (which was released 40 days after Victoria 7, and here we are almost 9 months after Victoria 8) I have been avoiding or having to selectively use Genesis 8, but now maybe that will change. I know others have been rolling their own clones since June/July, but I found that an inelegant solution.

Thanks folks, I'm glad you like it!

Generation 3 is somewhat less likely because there are so many Generation 3 figures.  Getting a male and female clone, plus tunic version and template, done for each figure was actually pretty difficult and time-consuming.

I think there hasn't been quite as much need for a Wear Them All for G8 as it automatically comes with fit clones for Genesis 1, 2, and 3. A  V4 and M4 clone for G8 though is MUCH appreciated and I'm looking forward to getting it. I made my own V4 clone but it doesn't come with the great adjustments like for skirts and cloaks like SY's version. So it's a much welcomed addition! Thank you, SickleYield!

Can someone give me the step by steps for using this product?

    I tried this:

    Loaded a g8m

Found the script and executed it while selecting the figure

Then I loaded a Mike 4 shirt - it did not load onto the character.  There is no "fit to" available on the shirt when I select it and right click.

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong because I don't try to use older clothing a whole lot.  I figured this script will enable me to, once I learn how to use it.

    Thanks!

it's sad because Platinum Club has many clothes for early versions than are very valuable and unique. Here is an example of wonderful unique clothing:

Yes, there are really nice clothes for older figures. While a direct option could be nice, you could use Wear them all to convert them to G3 then use SY's tutorial to convert the G3 version to G8.

Others may not have had as much need for it, but I have a HUGE V4/M4/V3 wardrobe thanks to repeated Daz 80% off sales and Aeon/Aery Soul, and I had grown accustomed to disregarding what generation/gender my clothing was because Wear Them All gave me Autofit clones for EVERYTHING. But then Genesis 8 arrives, and not only did that make my V4/M4 wardrobe mostly useless for that generation, but there were also issues fitting Genesis 3 items on it.

Just load a G8M, then with G8M selected in scene, load a M4 clothing item, the auto-fit dialog will appear asking for what figure the clothing was originally made for, the new clones should be in the dropdowns. It should process the scripts behind the scenes so you don't execute it directly. Also there are some new correction morphs for G8 but I haven't used them yet.

The only reason I can think of why a clothing item (new or old) would not have a "Fit To" option on right click is that you loaded a dynamic shirt, and as this is just a prop, it can not be fit to anything.

What script? You select G8, load a Generation 4 clothing item, and then Autofit should pop up with your options and you choose the clone and template.

If that doesn't happen, I agree with the person who said you may have a dynamic. If it is a dynamic you can still do it with transfer utility if you wish. Start it up (icon looks like an arrow pointing up and right). Selct G8 as the source, and under that "clone" and the one that fits the clothing. Choose the clothing under Target. Below that should be a dropdown for choosing a template. Below the template, in the options, click "reverse from shape" (not exact name but close). Click accept. Now it should work.

Agreed. I have many of the items in the list posted and tried using them on GM3 and the quality is pretty bad in most cases.

@Havos hit the nail on the head, the item I'm trying to fit is a dynamic shirt.  I didn't know that causes any issue.

@sickleyield thanks you very much for the information.  I've only used one script before (look at me) - so I thought that this works the same way.  I guess the fact that the shirt loaded next to the character rather than on it made me think something is going wrong/I need to somehow activate the product (which I thought was an executable script).

I will look into what a transfer utility is then use it per your instructions.  Thanks again :)

edit - noticed you even have instructions on where the utility is.  I'll try it after work!

    Sickleyield, very nice many thank-yous.

Some slight poke-through on the toes, will need to turn the toes off.

Glad I can use V4 hair on G8F as well.

    I'm glad you like it!

If you get pokethrough on any given item, adding a smoothing modifier often helps.  Hopefully most shoes do not have clipping, but if it does happen you can access this option through the button at the top right of the Scene tab.  Then choose edit--geometry--add smoothing modifier.

Anyoe else getting items being too large once fitted instead of a perfect, snug fit? I have tried 12 V4 items and all of them are larger than the figure under it. I see there is a FBMexpandall dial, but I have to turn it down to around -50 to get a snug fit.

How do you do shoes?  I guess it would help if I could dial up V4 and fit to that, but I can't do that, and Genesis 8's legs are way far appart.

Me too!  I'm buying this tomorrow and excited to see what it can do.  But I have a few a3 things that I can not figure out how to move over to genesis. To be able to take them straight up to g8 would be fantastic. Despite trying the tricks in learned in Sickle's videos.

  • Please tell me that it can fix things like this https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/192916/fixing-ugly-geometry-when-autofitting-vici-4-clothes-to-genesis-3#latest

if so you are the mvp of all of DAZ3D

I get that and expand all does not help. First image is Gen 8 body, same item on a genesis 3 body fits fine

Floating clothing and straps can be fixed by going to the Parameters tab and decreasing the "Scale" of the item until it dispears just inside the skin. Then increase the smoothing and colision until it's snug against the skin.

The point is not a fix Diva, but that it shouldn't happen in the first place, especially for the price. I get perfect results autofitting a V4 item to GF3 and then saving and autofitting to GF8 than I do with this product straight to GF8 so far. Here is an example and you can see how it also warps the mesh on the right compared to the other one.

    WOW. That's a difference.

If you dial in the clone on its own, does it line up with V4 properly?

I hadn't thought to try that, so I did and while the shirt fit remained pretty much the same, the figure is all kinds of warped. I assume it shouldn't look like this

I meant to compare it to the actual V4 figure, but yeah, that's really obvious distortion there even not comparing. If you have any other Genesis figure with a V4 clone or morph, you can make a G8 clone from that like this and get a wayyyyy better fit. This looks like some kind of weird accident. Does the M4 clone look like this too?

I tried many times to get the tutorial to work ijn creating my own clone, but each time I fit Genesis onto Genesis 8 Female, DS crashed.

The M4 clone doesn't look bad at all and clothes fit better although it does warp them a bit under the arms.
