    You might be able to use a flash player for FF instead (perhaps your AV settings disable Flash Player?)  I know that works for Vimeo :)

    Seems they recently changed (I like to say bolloxed up) the entire UI and it is absolutely hideous (looks more like a mobile app than one you'd have on a desktop computer).  Also, Autoplay is permanently set to "on" as a default (with no way in the programme to turn it off permanently which is annoying), as is video resolution  (plays videos at their highest quality setting).  It also loads very very slowly compared to the old version (most likely due to the more graphic intensive UI).  Had to get another FF Add On called You Tube Extender to turn Autoplay off and to be able to select video quality as 1080p and 720p HD videos take forever to buffer and usually end up stalling on my old 32 bit system with its Intel ntegrated graphics.

    Sorry. One nice feature is that if the video you want to download is part of a playlist, it lets you know and offers to download the entire list. You can also choose which format, from MP3 for audio only, and from the lowest to the highest resolution if you want the video.

    Thanks for the link!  The ChrisPC VideoTube Downloader has some of the same features.  This one sounds like it will handle longer, high resolution videos without restrictions, though, if I read you correctly.  Maybe I'll check it out.  Does it work for Vimeo, too?  This one only does YouTube.  At least as far as I can tell from trying.

    ...no problem. Am looking to get a charger brick for the Linux notebook the former housemates left behind. Once that arrives and I get hardwired access I won't have to deal with old Windows comparability and FF. So I should be able to watch and play my classical music vid playlists without buffering delaysor other issues. Still hate the changes to the UI though.

    I still think you'd be better off downloading them rather than streaming them.  You're still using the same bandwidth...but once it's downloaded, you can play it over and over without using any more bandwidth.

    As I tried to explain, streaming is downloading.  Except you have to do it over and over again to listen to the same tune.  Isn't it better to do it once and then be done with it?  Ah, I give up.
