Looking great. I complete forgot about this product.

I think the first render I ever made was in streets of the Mediterranean.

Thanks, I loved this set from the moment it came out and was determined to use it in one of my entries :)

    Nice detail as always.

Is the Panther using 'look at my hair'?

    Thanks.

Actually no, I added UberSurface to the skin to add velvet and then bumped up the bump :)
The rest is post work using a fur brush for tiny fibers and then the smudge tool to brush away clean edges.
I was very lazy though, should have done more.Yes you should have. LOL Nice posing to dad.

I just can bring myself to put together a second image. I put so much into the first, and then foolishly posted it at the start of the contest, leaving me to watch all the more awesome images fill these pages afterwards...

    Good luck everybody.

Yeah, Stefan's probably busy. But I'm sure he'll have a draw for all the weeks without a random winner before or by the time the winners will be chosen to catch things up.

By the way: I did my best for the pictures for this contest. I just realised that it sounded like I slapped something together - but I DID work on them. They just aren't as good as some others you see here.

I am with you, posted my 2 right near the start, both of which I had spend the time since Stonemason announced the contest to the time it started on, and have since seen all the way better ones come in, I see no chance for me LOL

    My first entry.

    Title: “Wars Used to End
Software used: DS4.5 Pro (straight render, no postwork other than sig & sat).
Stonemason products used: City Ruins Bldgs. 1, 2 & 4 and Tin Pan Alley

This was the dialogue in my head while building this scene:
Daughter: “Papa, what are those statues doing?”
    Father: “They’re kissing.”
    Daughter: “Why?”
Father: “Because their war ended. Wars used to end.”
Daughter: “Oh. Well, when I grow up I hope our war ends.”
Father: “So do I, Boo-bah, so do I. Now put your helmet back on, okay? It’s not safe here.”

    This is not an entry.

    The Remains
    Poser Pro 2012 / Photoshop CS5

    Under the Bridge

I have been debating for almost two weeks whether to enter The Mime Out of Time or The Remains as my second and last entry as I wasn't entirely happy with either one.

Or ... whether to put together something different altogether. In the end, I went with The Mime Out of Time ...primarily because I can't even get the one I'm working on now to render at all. I guess two copies of the Victorian Shoppes with a Vicki is just too much for my poor computer.

    And I really liked it!

I love this. Very well thought out. The dialogue is perfect, Quickxotica. Shows some talent in writing as well as art.

Thanks Kyoto Kid, Cagnazzo82 and Bri65. Glad you like it.

At the risk of over-explaining, I’ll post the iconic VJ-Day photo on which the statue’s pose is based. It may not be familiar to everyone, or perhaps not recognizable out of context. I created the statue by hand-posing two Genesis figures and then applied an ubersurface marble shader and raytraced reflections to all their clothes, hair and skin.

Anyway, thanks for the kind words. I just had to do something for this contest out of respect for Stonemason’s incredible work. Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed!

Hey, still interested in the far east! Nice render, but I'd expect nothing else. I recall seeing your posts many years back in Bryce and Poser newsgroups; are they still there? I have no idea since my current ISP has no NNTP news server, sadly most don't nowadays.

...thx Szark, this is what I love about the SOA series, I can pull em apart and then use em as building blocks to make things.

I hear you, same with the Urban Future and Sprawl sets. How's this for a Jack Tomalin and Stonemason fest http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/2765/P135/#205560 a perfect combination. Can't wait to finish it.
