    I am trying to see if I can play with DAZ studio.  I want to keep play with Carrara but first I need to find where I put my number or key or whatever?

    Complaint:  What amazes me about corn crops these days is that I see huge fields, acres & acres everywhere in the county.  And in each field every plant is identical to the ones around it.  They all grow at exactly the same rate.  The tops are all exactly the same height.  Clones.  No variation.  Back in the old days ('50s & '60s) , corn plants were like people, tall ones, short ones, good ones, bad ones, and average ones.  Ears of corn were big, little, & average.  Many ears had a corn borer worm in it that you simply cut out or broke off.  These days, no worms, no undeveloped kernels, and all ears are the same size.  They're like bannanas and many other crops.  Mono-cultured, all identical and impossible to grow from seed without sophisticated human assistance.  When civilization collapses, the survivors will eventually all starve to death because nobody will be able to grow self-perpetuating crops.

    I've also noticed that there are no corn borer moths (that come from corn borer worms) fluttering around anymore and there are also no toads and frogs to snack on them.  Hmmm...

    ...over hybridisation and genetic modification.  Most likely the seeds have been genetically modified to basically poison the pests, though in some cases, insecticides may have been used.

    Yeah what we consider as pests still have their place in the ecosystem.

    A major solar flare like the event that occurred in 1989 could trigger a collapse simply by knocking out all the communications satellites in orbit that modern society depends on today.  Think of it the Net, telecomm, broadcast television (all digital today except maybe N. Korea and parts of Siberia), Wall Street, navigational systems dependent on GPS, weather monitoring sats, spy sats, all knocked out.  Strong enough and it could even fry unshileded ground based computer systems that are actively running (like the ones we use)

    ...oh the ISS and Hubble, as well.

    Glad I still have my manual Underwood typewriter, my slide rule, know how to use CB and Ham radio, know how to read maps, and ride a bike.

    I think Carrara is owned by a company called Daz so if I can find the Daz site and go into my account I should find my serial.   Wonder which serial number to use as I have two Carrara 8.5 keys.

    Cannot use blender right now but probably can use Carrara if I can put the right key in.

    What is worse there is an air qulaity alert due to wildfires in the region through Friday

    ...and the "cool down" for next week will still see temps mid to upper 90s.

    A baseball bat is for a kids' game.  At 0300, I don't play kid's games.  I'd have something a lot faster, louder, and more "OMG I'm leaking and it really really hurts" at hand.  If there's a lady with me, she'll optionally bring her own armory with her.  Yep, gotta love tough women!  If she's travelling light, then all she'll need to do is keep her ear protection in and her head down.  Boom!

    I don't know what I did, but the salmon came out sort of glazed.  Almost like candy.  Yummy, yummy candy.  Like a delicious grown-up's version of "Swedish Fish".  One that doesn't remove crowns or fillings.

    ...you never met up with my Shadowrun character who was an ex baseball player who was totally amped up on bio and cyber augmentations.  In her hands, her titanium bat was a deady weapon and she could easily take the oppos down with her beanball fastball.

    Remember that scene from the Untouchables?

    Baseball is a lot more dangerous than some think.

    ...what is really ironic, I live in the Pacific Northwest but am allergic to salmon.   That's like living in Wisconsin and being lactose intolerant.

    Local trains were stopped all day but it was all a high voltage accident afaik. Dodging Drop Bears, Rollerblading Rhinos and Asploding Electrics all part of the charm here :)
