To be honest, does not look much different from Victoria 8. Olympia 7 looks more detailed and unique. And the eyebrows look like they are painted on instead of hair.

    Waiting for renders.... laugh

Olympia 7 is my favourite skin (and favourite figure to use) so I'm curious to see how her skin looks in non-daz renders.

@arglesw007 Heh, my thoughts exactly. Is Olympia a secret identical twin of Victoria now? Oh well, doesn't really matter to me, since I'm still rooting for G3F. At least in earlier generations you could tell most of the DAZ original models apart...

not only that, but the offer is pretty mehhh....especialy if you already own o6 & o7.

I'll keep going g1 g2 g3 (and even v4m4). there are so many nice things to grab in the uptcoming mega sales

I kinda like Olympia 8, even with the eyebrows.

But the less I say about the bow and archery poses in the pro bundle, the better.

Being a fan of the Olympias (O7 is my favourite), I was hoping for an adequate O8. I am disappointed.

I must agree with arglesw007. She looks too much like V8, with the same ugly Leo joker mouth. This mouth was the main reason for me not to buy Victoria 8. Imo, Olympia 8 is too muscular; her face looks too 'male'. If Daz makes V8 a bit masculine, and Olympia 8 even more - how will Rune 8 or Gia 8 look like? surprise

    Wow... Just.. WOW!

Ahhhh I want her so much! WHY do I have to be broke!  crying She so beautiful!

I  have to agree, I like Olympia 7 more, but would be interested to see user renders of Olympia 8. The promos are just not doing it for me, but they didn't for Olympia 7 either. I don't know if it was lighting used or what, but in both cases, the promos made her look more harsh, where some of the user renders made her look softer and more feminine. Now, I love strong female characters, and muscles are fine, but there's something odd to me about the promos that I can't put my finger on.

I am getting a bit confused about the kind of character they are trying to portray with her. O7 was curvaceous and a bit voluptuous as well. Fit the Greek goddess image to a large extent. But with O8 bundle having both Lethal Rogue and Burlesque, that would be a character hard to identify. Unless they are trying to reach new heights in versatility or defining something like Mata Hari. As far as muscularity goes, there are other characters series (Gia, Rune, Mei Lin) to flaunt muscle tones. Guess I would just settle for the base character hoping that some PA would be able to do a better justice with her in future.

I still wonder, why DAZ always release two or three more women figures before they release the first male character on a new generation. Especially as a company based in Utah, DAZ should know, that Adam was first and Eve comes later. :)

I thought that she looked almost exactly like V8 as well, facially. As I said. They tend to look too similar anymore.

I didn't like Olympia 7 when she was first released...dithered for a while but decided to get her for a birthday present for myself. I fell in love with her the minute I rendered her, and she is my all time favourite in the 7 line, and I use her constantly. Monique is my second fave...but Olympia bowled me over. I'm curious whether that will happen with Olympia 8. I haven't picked her up, I'm hoping to see users renders first.

Y'know...there is still a LOT of grain when you look closely at the promo pics for O8. I don't know whether that is because the 8's skin is rendering a lot sloooooooooower and they stopped them early to get the promos in on time...or if it's the current version of DS. I'm noticing grain in my renders lately.

I really wish DAZ would fix that stupid damn bug in the cart where if you have free items, your $6 coupon doesn't fully apply. It's ridiculous and has been going on for far too long.

Question for those who have bought her: is 'HD details' morph included? Or it will be sold later as it was for G3 generation?

She has a pretty face, I kinda like her looks better than Olympia 7's. HD is always separate for these DAZ 3D figures.

The Anita hair in the bundle is really nice.

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

Didn't Victoria 8 have the HD morphs included in the base figure?

G8 base has HD expressions, not character morph(s).

She does? I purchased the bundle. I will have to ckeck that out because I missed it.

I wasn't sure, looking at this promo:

AH! thanks, that was what I was thinking of. laugh I knew I'd seen HD somewhere. LOL. I don't have Victoria 8 so I was going by the expressions.

    yeh!

I really like O7, and never used O6 all that much; I'll get around to converting them to G8, but this bundle offers nothing new; besides if past experience is anything to go buy, the addon characters use merchant resource textures, and well... Those I can make myself. I'll see what the renders look like - of O8; maybe I'll use my $6 coupon, seeing as I don't always use either nevermind both.

If she has default UVs I might get, if not wont be buying.

it doesn't mention the UV's for her, but Genesis 8 and Victoria 8 use the G3F base UV's and I believe that is all part of the "most backward compatible" thing they're touting for the 8 line. So if Olympia 8 doesn't  use the G3F UV's i'd be very very surprised.

It's the first pro bundle in a while where I've disliked just about everything in it. The only thing I actually like is that Lethal Rogue outfit. And that's it. So if I bite the bullet and get O8, it'll be just the base and that outfit. That's it.

I already have the O7 Pro bundle, and there are only two things in the O6 pro bundle that I don't own - so the bonus of getting them free isn't worth it to me.

I'm not seeing that at all. Either the grain or the slow renders. I'm wondering if you have zoomed far enough to see compression artifacts. The O8 promos are jpg while the V8 promos are png.
