    Loved Galaxy Quest! yes

Honestly, Costner was his own worst enemy in Robin Hood Prince of Accents. Even the trees outclassed him! And a different accent in every scene!!!

I went to try to watch it but it is not on Netflix streaming nor on amazon prime.   Guess I will not watch it tonight.

I want to watch fireworks tonight on TV but I do not know where I put the cable TV box.

...OK so i know sports isn't a fave topic here (I really miss Ed), however, I am suprised, pleased, and somewhat amused that my Milwaukee Brewers have been on top of the National League Central division for over a month. Particularly so, as before the season, the sports pundits projected they'd be the division's "cellar dwellers" for most of the season. They won again today extending their lead on the 2nd place World Series champion Chicago Cubs who lost to Miami.

Found the missing key on the floor and also remembered the name of the software that will help me with space on harddrive.

I am missing a key on my keyboard and also trying to figure out what is taking up space on my harddrive.

    "WinDirStat"  (Windows Directory Statistics) https://windirstat.net/

Cool, free tool that gets all file and folder size statistics and displays them in a quickly and easily grasped map of where the biggest storage hogs are.

(However, a standard disclaimer: Despite providing quick and accurate aim at storage hog areas, it does not prevent you from shooting yourself in the foot should you happen to delete the wrong thing! crying )  Powerful tools require careful operators.

...at my old multimedia development job I actually had an "any" key on my workstation (an unused function key that I programmed as a secondary line feed key). When prompted so I'd hit it and whatever process that was triggered would launch.

I found the cable box.  I hooked it up but it would not work so I called the cable company.  Now I am watching something that might show fireworks or might not.  NBC hopefully is the right channel.

Can I get rid of Windows.old and Windows.old.old folders?  They seem to be eatting up gigs of space.

Yes, but it should be done as described in the attached image below. enlightened  And after you delete it you won't be able to revert back to your previous version of Windows. indecision

Non-complaint:  I stepped outside to listen to the echos of distant fireworks displays from surrounding towns (I can't see anything from here, but when the wind is right the sound travels many miles).  While outside in the dark I saw some lightning bugs flash in the weeds.  Cool!  I haven't seen lightning bugs in many years. (probably because I don't go outside in the dark much anymore.)  It wasn't a big display of lightning bugs but it was good to see that they haven't been extincted from this area yet.

Complaint:  I remember a time about 30 years ago when the lightning bugs were so thick that it was like a continually sparkling cloud hovering over the weeds.  Something I haven't seen in a long long time here are toads.  We used to have toads in the yard every summer.  It's very distressing to have lived long enough to have seen Nature be so noticeably distressed even out here in the countryside.  It's not population growth, because the town has actually been shrinking instead of getting larger. surprise It's pesticides, and monoculture crops. angry We're poisoning and breeding our Earth to death. sad  And don't get me started on the changes I've witnessed in Florida over the last 60 years. crying  First time I saw Florida was 1956 when I was 8.

...oooooh, glowbutts! (as Leela calls them).

I used to remember seeing lots of them on any given summer eve back in Wisconsin when I was growing up.

Put a few in this pic I entered in the SBP3 challenge.

I like sports but I tend to follow a very few teams. Baseball lost me as a fan when when the players' greed intercoursed the fans over, although I did enjoy watching the Cubs win a pennant in my lifetime. smiley My brother is a fan of the round football, so I catch a lot of those games, usually while rendering. laugh

really it's more like snide and sharply critical; and snide of course means derogatory or mocking in an indirect way.

...yeah I agree, free agency and big money ruined all pro sports. It's no more the "love of the game" as it is the "love of the big fat contract".

I loved baseball when I was growing up in the 50s & 60s.  I remember sitting in the bleachers at old County Stadium with one of the great legends of the game, Hank Aaron standing there in the outfield right in front of us. Was a member of the local parks department "Knothole Club" where 25¢ (later 50¢) got you the bus trip and a game ticket in the right field bleachers (Aaron's usual position).

Played in high school but didn't stick with it in college as I went into music and was afraid to injure my hands.  In some ways I feel it was a mistake as I probably could have at least made the minors had I stuck with it.  Tall with a good "wingspan" (not unlike Randy Johsnon), I was a pretty decent pitcher though more of a "junkball" than fastball specialist (my "mentor" was the Milwaukee Braves' Warren Spahn).  Also, not too bad at the plate either.   Back then unless you were "shelled" in the first couple innings, pitchers would "go the distance"  more often (pitching a complete game) unlike today when starters are routinely pulled by the 6th or 7th inning (hence why I probably have left shoulder issues).

That music career? It pretty much went nowhere.
