Mon Dieu! Il me fait mal de profaner le français.

C'est un pomme frite, While Quebecois may serve le patate, I don't think a Parisian would appreciate the translation. I learned it as Pomme de Terre

I thought it was odd.  It's one of the few things I remember from French classes in school.  Apple of the Earth.  I was aware that there are differences between Parisian and Quebec dialects, though.

Yeah, but earth apple sounds like something you would find in the horse corral. smiley

And I knew about that because a gardener in Alice says he is "digging for apples"

    And: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_fries#France.

I should have put a big "wink" emoji in my comment. While I have no ill will aainst the French, I'm rather anti-Quebecois. Maudit grenouille! devil wink

person in charge of the new alcatel phones is no help what-so-ever

    more complaint  - whinjing

the lovely new features i coded into my ms access database project won't work with web-based email.
No word on if they going to let us use outlook to like pop3 or something to the googlemails

i asked a couple of the other people at dayjob with automated mail alerts, how they going to handle the change,
they seem to think they just have to change the ip address of the mailserver, dont see how that will work,
unless there's a google app for desktop email?

can a sendto hyperlink work for web based email?

googling, binging to answer questions, but all i find is others posting the same questions

i mean, who woulda thunk it, thought microsoft office was 4 4eva,  they actually so ridculous buisnesses saying 'no'

I may have misread your complainnt, but, I process my emails in Outlook and our company email system is Gmail. The attached picture shows my settings (Outlook 2003, but works in 2010, too). The only glitch I've found is that sometimes Gmail will filter out a message as junk and not forward it to your Outlook. If you're missing something load the web-based Gmail and check your junk folder. If you need the messages available to other mail programs as well, tell Outlook to leave a copy on the server.

    Helpful? Y/N cheeky

    Check these links:

That last one is using Excel, however, it might be the same concept...it's using VBA.  Mention of CDO in the video.

...well day three of RL "stoppage time" (a term from footy for extra time tacked on after the end of a period for such things that disrupt the flow of play like injuries & such) and still no goal.  Beginning to get really worried.  Still have power and water but not sure how long that will last. Keep emailing, leaving messages but so far only one callback in seven days (to tell me there was no vacancy).  Even sent followups emails/calls and still nothing.  Talked with one social help agency who mentioned this situation with demand exceeding supply for low income housing here hi t a critical point over the last three years due to all the upscale development and gentrification forcing prices up everywhere.

...beginning to feel my greatest fear, ending up out on the street, may be unavoidable unless a true miracle happens in the next day or two.

Trying not to let it discourage me but getting harder and harder with each day.  At least it was a nice summery day here today (and will be tomorrow) with temps in the low 80s.

..yeah used to be for renting all you needed was a steady soruce of income - which I have, and a good rental history - which I also have.  Today you also need a credit history/score as well  - which I don't have as I never had a credit card, bought anything on credit, or took out a car/home loan.

You keep your nose clean do everything above baord and you get "Red Carded" (the most serious penalty in footy) for it.

Thinking about moving up to something a bit more Iray friendly. I'll just have to install the programs I use onto it. I have a couple of outboards I back up my Daz content to, so that won't be a problem. I'm just going to tip-toe around the memory intensive programs for a while. That's when I get a big slowdown. Too many bad sectors, I think.

..good the last thing you want to do is re-install all your content, finished pics, & stuff.

Grimm is over?  surprise I haven't had cable TV for a year.  Did they do it properly and tie up loose ends?  yes  Or did it end with a cliff hanger? angry  Or did it just end with no resolution?  sad No spoilers please.

  • Well darn... Transport Canada has issued a recall on my AT-AT.

    http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/7/VRDB-BDRV/search-recherche/detail.aspx?lang=eng&mk=-1&md=&fy=0&ty=9999&ft=&ls=0&sy=0&as=1&rn=2017242

    Recall Details
On certain All-Terrain Armoured Transport (AT-AT) walkers used by imperial ground forces, the central hydraulic system could fail in extreme cold temperatures, such as on planet Hoth or in Northern Canada. This could impair laser cannon tracking, and affect the walker’s ability to maintain balance and could ultimately result in a crash causing injury to imperial troops. Correction: Under development. #Maythe4th

It would appear that those highly-trained, well-paid, steadfast Federal employees at Transport Canada have FAR too much time on their hands.
