I am at a library and a guy is talking too loudly I think for a library.  It is getting annoying.

    I completely understand. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3Z4QoA7eeM

Purchased and dl'd Norton Utilities ($20 US) Ran some stuff and it's back to the old normal. Seems like the problem was a lot of dead wood in the registry. Well worth the money. smiley

Been using Norton for years.  I like their Identiy Safe...but that can be gotten for free.  And their password generator is great...also free.

I am home now and trying to start a movie to watch.  Not sure what it is about but I think I did at one point as I did put it on my Netflix DVD queue.  So far I am five minutes into it and it is almost dinner time.

Fascinating thing that I need to learn.  It is impossible to pair a bluetooth keyboard to a tablet if the keyboard is off.  No matter how hard I try it will not work until I flick the little power switch.

Yet, when "Off" it is working exactly as designed.  Were it doing anything other than just quietly sitting there while off, it would not be behaving properly.  Good engineering. yes

    True, so true

Looking up on Craigslist to see if there are any used laptops that will fit my needs and fit my budget.   Daddy suggested it so maybe he can help with increasing the computer budget spending money.  Otherwise my budget is too small I can see.  I can get some PC items and a new release or two I guess with my budget if I plan right, but other than some conent my budget is not enough for a used computer.

I am crossing out Chromebooks and keeping it as windows compatible as possible.  Mac books might be great but I rather stick with windows or use Linux I guess.

Apparently thinking about starting the movie back does not work.  I have to actually touch my remote and find the play button and press it while pointing to the device.   Of course that is the only way as the movie player does not have any buttons on it to my knowledge.

(I already knew that but was wondering why I am sitting in front of the TV watching the movie player screensaver.   It says Samsung and that bounces around the screen.  I think the movie is more exciting that a bouncing Samsung logo.)

I've heard that England is like the US's Washington and Oregon states.  If it looks like you have a tan, it's only rust. indecision

However, I have to admit that the only three days that I was in England (London, of course) it was three days of the most beautiful sunny weather.  Totally befuddled. surprise

We certainly had very few April showers this year.

    Temperate Maritime climate! smiley

If the wind's in the west, it deposits an Altantic-worth of rain and America's left over storms. But it's warm from the gulf stream. If the wind's in the north we get snow and rain from the Arctic. If it's in the east we get freeze-blasted from Siberia, and if it's in the south, we get hot air from the Azores and Africa along with a generous helping of sand from the Sahara.

    And that's just Friday.

Apparently I need to go to the movie player to put the disc in order to start watching the zombie movie.  Not trying to be lazy but I will never watch the zombie movie at this rate if I do not get up an put it in.

...we got them all here from March until now. Hard to believe it was near 90 here yesterday. Today low 50s and cold rain once again. Don't know what it will take any more to get winter to finally leave us alone. A burnt sacrifice on an alter perhaps?

...well somewhat exasperating day to day.  Needed to run into town to get a PO box so at least my m,ail has a place to end up.

Left at around 14:30 figuring it would be a nice quick trip and I could get back out of downtown before the evening commuter crush began.  Bus out of the neighbourhood was all fouled up, the first went by with "Drop Off Only" on the destination sign.  The second showed up just as the kids were getting out of school (which I hoped ot beat) so that one would get crowded so waited for the third one.

By now it was almost 15:00.  When we got to the bridge that crossed the river into downtown we were delayed by wht was apparently brain dead driving on the part of several motorists ahead of us. Finally got through downtown made it ot hte Post office, got the PO Box and keys (surprisingly that was the easy part).  Afterwards I decided to take the tram back across the river without having to go into the centre of downtown then connect to a bus down to the Hawthorne district on the SE where I was going to talk with some people who I am networking with to find a place to live.  As our tram headed onto the bridge it stopped and we waited for nearly ten minutes because some guy was sitting on the tracks.  It took a transit supervisor to show up to force him to move so we could proceed. Even with this second unexpcted delay was still was doing OK for time.

...that was until I got to the transfer point to connect to the bus I needed. Waited there for nearly 30 min seeing buses on the route going northbound but nothing southbound. When the third Northbound bus came by I asked the driver if he knew what was happening and mentioned that my ticket was about to expire (and I really didn't want ot pay another fare because of the delay).  He said there was some kind of activity to the north that was affecting the southbound buses. He gave me an extended ticket  and since it was to be at least another thirty minutes before the bus I was waiting for would arrive (and no doubt be a "sardine can special") I decided to get on another tram and head further east to where I could catch a bus back to where I needed to go. By now the PM commute had commenced so the tram I ended up on was now crowded (unlike the earlier one) requiring me to stand al the way (about a 20 min ride).

I should have been at my destination by a little after 16:00, I didn't  get there until 18:00.  Fortunately the people I was going to talk to were still there.

So what should have been a simple trip for a single errand of maybe 60 - 90 min turned into a nearly four hour debacle.

Some days you can't win no matter what you do..

KK, you realize that SS won't send your check to a PO Box, right?  Do you have direct deposit?

My blue fire needs to be charged up as it is at 52 battery percentage.  Just thought of something.  What if someone made a calculator to run on a car battery or a laptop battery?  I mean a simple calculator that just does simiple math.   I know that would be over kill but would the battery always stay at 100% or would it be just a waste of a battery.   Or would it just fry the poor calculator?
