I am thinking of doing something I am not sure I am supposed to be doing.  It probably will cost the use of my tablet for two weeks.

My blue fire needs to be charged up as it is at 52 battery percentage.  Just thought of something.  What if someone made a calculator to run on a car battery or a laptop battery?  I mean a simple calculator that just does simiple math.   I know that would be over kill but would the battery always stay at 100% or would it be just a waste of a battery.   Or would it just fry the poor calculator?

Blue Fire huh?  Did you know that arsenic or lead or selenium or indium or sometimes copper makes blue flames when burniing? https://www.stevespanglerscience.com/lab/experiments/flame-test/

    Its raining outside.

I found that dress that I wanted to buy.  It does have some pleats.  Other than the pleats, it looks plain and thin.  I think I'll save my $12 and buy something from Fastgrab.  I saw some characters for Genesis 3 that cost $5.09.

KK, you realize that SS won't send your check to a PO Box, right?  Do you have direct deposit?

    Dana

...yes, I do.  This is just for other mail until I can find a place to settle into on a more long term basis.  May be crashing on sofas for a while until I either clear the wait list for this one apartment that was accepting applications, or find something else that works out.

Some websites use a grey font on a white background.  Uggg.  I wonder if I can override the color of the font somehow.  Maybe I can download an extension that can override the CSS or font markup.

I am going to go to the zoo which will mean no internet time for me today until I get home.  I am trying to make sure I have enough to do on the trip there and back.  While at the zoo I should be busy with the animals and nephew time!

Which browser?  I don't know about the others but I use InternetExplorer and when presented with the problem I either just select/highlight all the text to make it easier to see, or I take the time to open the Windows's "InternetOptions" dialog and then under "Appearance-->Colors" deselect the "Use Windows Colors" checkbox and setup the colors for text, & background. smiley However, there are some sites that even this won't work on.  frown   But then you have to remember to reselect the "Use Windows Colors" checkbox when you're done with that site.  Pain in the butt!

Note:  The "InternetOptions" dialog in Windows7 can be found a couple of ways:  Either in the ControlPanel under "Network and Internet" or under the "Tools" menu in InternetExplorer's "menu" bar.  Windows10 may differ but it's probably still in the ControlPanel.

There is something confusing going on with my visa.   I froze it so I cannot see what is going on, but as of yesterday I am missing over a hundred dollars.

Sorry to hear about your Visa card issue.  Call your bank and carefully go though your receipts and do whatever's necessary to stop the bleeding and to heal as much as possible.  And heed the advise from the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", i.e. "Don't Panic".

I'm back with another complaint.  Not a biggie but worthy of kvetching about.  I got a snail mail advertisement from the Buffalo Philharmonic about this weekend's concert.  It's Jean Sibelius' 2nd Symphony (yea!) smiley.  Another one of my favorites, and I haven't heard it live yet.smiley  I really want to go but...  Tickets for good seats are $80, there is no Sunday afternoon performance, I can't drive well at night, it's a two hour drive to Buffalo, the downtown streets of Buffalo are a rat's nest of twists, turns, one-way's and circles difficult even in the daytime, and I'm broke and have vowed to not burn anymore money from my savings till I replace it. sad

I love the Sibelius 2nd Symphony.  I see it as a mental picture of a difficult journey through the Scandanavian mountains, in places grand, dark, dangerous, morose, joyful, fearful, or inspiring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAOf46CXaaw

There are places where you can hear the main theme trying to emerge only to be submerged by darkness, till finally in the 4th movement it bursts through and engulfs you. (descriptions below are my feelings)

1st Movement @ 0:00 the adventure begins naively but quickly troubles begin to periodically appear , but are quickly conquered in turn until...

2nd movement @ 11:55 dark troubles abound, the path is lost, ...

    3rd movement @ 30:00 a promising path is found ...

4th movement @ 35:50 the path is clear.  then @ 42:20 the clouds part (I cry every time) cryingyes  Then you brace yourself through the windstorm in the mountain pass @ 48:30 and stand on the far side of last ridge viewing your destination finally before you in the valley below, unobstructed. smiley

I have contacted my card issuer today and they are looking into it.  I just have to fax something to them as soon as I get it in the mail.  They had to issue a new card and I have no access to any funds remaining until the new card arrives.

Not a problem.  As explained after the "but..."  This is another one I'll have to miss. sad  I've missed a few over the years.  Decades ago (mid-'80s) I missed a big one at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.  Alfred Brendel was performing the Brahms 1st Piano Concerto. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtJKx9El7go I had a pair of tickets (box seats, right above and behind the piano cool, but $$$ )  Unfortunately the morning of the day of the concert we got bad news and had to immediately leave for Florida to handle an emergency.frown

The 3rd (final) movement excitement begins @ 36:46  Unfortunately this YouTube version is not high quality sound but it does show the mastery that Alfred Brendel has of Brahms.

Ah, Jethro Tull... I spent many a night twisted up in his music, watching the notes change color as they floated around me while the walls breathed in unison.  Ah, the '70s. yes

Never got into Jethro Tull, not out of any dislike, but simply from "too many bands not enough time".

    Enjoyed that piece though. smiley

I'm using Gooogle Chrome now.  I think Mozilla Firefox allows me to overide style sheets without using any addons.  Thanks for replying.
