...yes they are.  They are determined to not see me on the street or in a shelter.

Have to take it day by day here for now. Fortunately where I am I don't have a lot of stuff to pack up. Mainly some clothes, computers, desk. a few kitchen items, and personal items.  They will be renting a van to help me move once a place is secured.

Need to call another friend a little later today who is also in on this.

Time for a bit of high octane caffeine, heading to the coffee shop soon.

Again, good luck with all of that!

...thanks. Tomorrow's a busy day as I will be looking at a couple of places and meeting with a senior advocacy group as well as the local office that handles Section 8 certification.

Good Luck KK. I hope you find something you really like and can afford.

...thank you and hoping the same tomorrow.

Checked a place a friend of mine found on Craig's List but it really feels "sketchy" in that they only want to deal in cash (not even cheques).  It's also on the outskirts with only one bus line and when we were driving up saw a fairly shady looking individual. Room was small and the way the utilities were split up felt like some other people got more of an advantage (there was also a "TV charge" and I don't even have a Telly or care to and I'd have to pay for my internet separately on top of it).  As they don't accept Section 8 Vouchers I'd be in for something like 700$ per month between rent and utilities for a small room in a shared house which is roughly 70% of my SS benefit.

The owner also doesn't want bikes indoors and the place to lock up is not only unprotected from the weather but not the most secure (bikes have already been stolen from there).

Gong down tomorrow to both the local housing and seniors concern office. I want a stable above board place. If I have to I'll crash on a livingroom sofa for a couple weeks until I can get my own place.

...well tomorrow is D-Day for me. If I don't get into someplace and the assistance I need, I will be on the street.

None of this is my doing.  I was renting here in good faith that the money was helping maintain the mortgage.  Apparently it wasn't.  The people here who said I was like family and that they'd so whatever it took to keep me from being tossed out on the street pretty much decided I no longer was because my lack of credit history may have caused an issue with their getting a new place.   Guess it takes drastic situations to find who your friends really are (this has nothing on the others who are honestly trying to help me).

Don't know how much longer I'll have power, water, Net access, or a roof over my head.

I live off the Reduced Cabinet - stuff that's cheap cos it's reached its sell by date (but is still perfectly good), or the packaging's busted. You can eat quite well for not very much, provided you don't have preconceived meal plans.

Good news I got the movie I want to watch.  Bad news it is on Microsoft movies and TV which apparently needs a working windows 8/10 machine. I cannot watch it on my smart blueray p!ayer or my fire TV stick.  Uggghhh.  I can watch the sequel to the movie on my smart movie player as I have it with Google play/ YouTube.

complaint: I saw a dress on an online store earlier today.  I forgot to bookmark the page.  I tried to look for the same dress but I couldn't find it.  I guess the dress is out of stock?  Its ok, it was kinda plain.  The dress didn't even have any pleats.

I keep forgetting you are a gal.

I was having difficulty connecting my bluetooth devices to this tablet.  They are now connected.  I wanted to listen to an audiobook or some music but not sure which one.
