I found a few ones I haven't seen. Most sites have the same ones over and over. I got a real nice 1940 Ford SEDAN, a 1962 Dodge Dart w/Hemi, a Jaguar SS100, a 1934 Chevy Dragster, A 1960 American LeFrance Firetruck, a 69 GMC city bus, a 2003 Ford F100 convertible pickup, Speedracer's Mach 5, 70 Mercury Cougar "Eliminator", and a few more. I got them ripped and now I just need to open them in DS and apply the textures, resize and resave.

    :-)

    Cool. From what site?

That Triumph is a real nice mesh to work with for sure, no engine or detail there, but still a nice simple mesh to work with.

That would be it Cherokee...Huckleberry Pie did it.

BTW...if you get the google toolbar from Google.com it has a translate button...one click and the entire page instantly becomes English. I use it all the time, would be lost without it!

    free!

Here is a link to the Speedracer Mach 5:

Awe man! Last night I found a 1957 Ford Ranchero. I was so excited, opened the file in Z modeler and it was only half there and super low poly. Really bad messed up mesh, not even worth keeping....RATS!

But I did get a 1949 Mercury, a 1955 Buick and a 1950 Buick Custom, all three two doors. Also a nice 1972 Chevelle SS 396.

After spending some time with the 40 Ford tudor mesh, I didn't like the way the front grill worked, since it was a solid mesh, so I deleted that and used the grill from the 40 Ford Coupe, as well as the bumpers from the coupe, the car already looks 100% better, next I will have to redo those headlights!

From the gtagaming.com site. The Buick Custom has an assoetment of different grills to choose from, so you can load each one and save it as an .obj file, then select which one you want to use.

I like the first render best (without Sue). It looks more real, the one with Sue is too bright or something.

I think it needs some better tires and wheels on it.

I have to agree about the tires n wheels too, the mesh certainly isn't as nice as the coupe, turns out the Merc mesh was really low poly as well.

I was just informed, reading in another forum, that Daz Studio will import 3dmax .fbx files. There are tons of 3dmax cars out there with all the textures included. This morning, I imported a 1965 Pontiac GTO .fbx file and started working on adding the textures. It is a real nice mesh and will be fun to work on. I will do some on it tonight when I get in from work.

This opens a whole new bunch of cars we can do...and no converting! I have 3dmax, so I will also be able to open 3dmax cars, then export them as .fbx files with textures to be imported into Daz. Then resave them as .obj files with material settings.

Imported from Poser to Bryce, re-mapped all textures and rendered.

Alternative (and much larger) render of the same bike as above (different paint job)... Again rendered in Bryce.

    Thanks :)

I got it with Poser, but here is the link to it on Rendorosity.
It says "no longer available" but maybe you can still get it from somewhere else.

Meanwhile, another... again imported into Bryce from Poser and texture re-mapped.

I like American cars from the 1920's upto about the early 1970's, and there are later model cars I like, but not just in shear numbers like I like the older cars, that is an interesting grocery getter ya got there!
