Hmmm... seems like the northwest and northeast have stolen Buffalo's weather this year.  We here at the eastern end of the unfrozen Great Lakes, despite the threat of continued lake effect snows, have had a relatively sedate winter.  Yeah, we had one or two big snows but it all melted between storms, which is unusual for us.  NYC & Boston's big snowfall today is only going to net us a couple inches.

    Current conditions:

    Thunder snow!

    Heavy snow blowing sideways

    Freezing Fog

    26F

And yet, I saw the mailman put mail in my box!  I don't want to go out there!  I'll get it tomorrow morning when I get the snow blower started up!

I do not remember having snow days when I was in high school.  I remember a bad snow storm but I think I still had school.  Oh wait I was home schooled so that explains things.

I remember doing a report on storms during a huricane.   It was storming and windy and raning, but I kept going while my parents monitored the storm.

Some guy just came up to me and asked how I was doing.  He left before I could ask how I knew him (or he knew me)?   I sometimes have short term memory problems so I cannot remember if I knew him or not.

I cannot get my bluetooth mouse to work today.   I think I got the internet to work on this computer.  I think, but not sure.

...same here.  Grew up in Wisconsin, If it wasn't more that a foot deep and still coming down at the rate of 2" per hour with almost blizzard like conditions, school was not cancelled. Now 20°(F) below zero with a 20 mph wind, that was another matter as it was considered dangerous (unless of course you were attending a Green Bay Packer game at Lambeau Field in winter).

I have to laugh living here in Portland OR, when a couple inches is considered paralysing, all the schools and public offices are shut down, buses are chained up and on snow routes, and we are barraged with up to the minute all day "Winterpocalypse 20xx" coverage on at least one of the local news affiliates.  Back home we would call that a "dusting".

...ran into a bank of freezing fog on the way to Vancouver BC once. Not fun as not only were the roads slick, but suddenly the windscreen went totally opaque and the wipers did nothing.  Fortunately it was early on a Saturday morning so there was almost no of traffic or we would have been in the middle of a major pileup.

...while the Northeast was being buried, we here in Portland hot 59°.  However put those snowballs down as it really wasn't all that pleasant here either due to several heavy rain and wind storms that passed through.  During one the rain was coming down so hard it was literally flowing down the windows in sheets and it was almost impossible to see anything across the street. Had all that rain today been snow, we would have got at least as much as you folks on the other side of the country did.

Tomorrow more closer to normal with highs only in the upper 40s.

Quick format should take a minute or less.

[rant] ...ugh I hate this new version of FF. Keeps bloating in memory until things slow to a crawl.  Just a few moments ago it would not open an email in my Daz Forums inbox. I went to my main inbox and it worked fine but when I tried to go back to the Daz Forums, my mail programme just sat there with a "loading" message for around five minutes. Cleared the cache and still refused to work.  Had to kill FF and restart it again. I usually have to do this at least once an evening which is becoming very frustrating and getting very old.

It isn't a connectivity issue as I am showing a stable connection and again everything else worked fine except the Daz Forums inbox. [/rant]

I got tired of FF over a year ago.  I switched to Chrome and haven't looked back.

We got 12.4 inches.  It's 19F and windy, at 10:59 am!  That will not feel cozy!  I will be going out there shortly to clear the snow off the cars and then get the snow blower going.  indecision

We had actual snow today! I think 4 or 5 flakes may have actually settled. Briefly.

I want to go to bed but apparently I have to clear off my bed before I can do that.  Before I can clear off the bed, I need to get off this laptop.

...granted, being on a bed sounds much more comfortable than being on a laptop as a bed is softer and you can stretch out more without risk of falling off.

Because of Job, I got to go to the local mall.   It is okay as Job takes good care of me.

on other news I think a 32 bit computer cannot handle DS, Opera, and a game called Runescape all at the same time.
