I am barrowing an old 32 bit computer with only 2GB of ram.  It is slow but I am keep hoping Malwarebytes can clear up some of it.

I don't think it will.  32 bits and only 2GB?  No, that thing will just be slow, by today's standards.  If you're used to a 64 bit system, it will seem to take forever to do every little thing!

Why does it seem that 32 bit computers are slower than 64 bit computers?

If you were persued by an angry dog would you run faster if bit 32 times or 64 times?

I think I'd be dead if I were bitten 64 times!   surprise

...well the second "Snowpocalypse" of the year never happened, at least here.  Just a lot of icy cold rain (feet still feel cold and numb as I had to go out to meet with someone today and don't have any boots).  Apparently the white and icy stuff stayed to the west and north of us in Washington State (Olympia is currently being dumped on, expecting an additional half foot by tomorrow morning).

Now the alerts call for local flooding which is a more accurate prediction as I had to walk out in the street a couple times because the sidewalk and curb areas were completely flooded.  Need hot cocoa and warm lined slippers.

Don't underestimate those nervous little dogs.  Very sharp teeth, I'm sure.  64 times...I'm sure it would hit a vein a few times, enough...

...the combined constant yipping of 64 of those hyper nervous little beasties alone would probably drive me insane.

...ah, but one of the basic spells taught in those regions is "warm self".  It's a 0 level spell all apprentices usually to learn in their first month.

Failing to (a) cook self or (b) freeze to death considered a pass?

Try bigger wheels on the barrow?

Well the good news is that Miss Wolf will be able to run Bryce on that machine,   Bryce 5.    7 will run,  but not at all well.

32 bit vs 64 bit isn't a speed thing, it's a memory thing - if you have a machine with only 2GB of RAM, regardless of the OS bit width, it's going to be slowed enormously by swapping data to disc as soon as you start to do anything. Of course the CPU on a machine as old as that probably is will also be slow.

Well, it's bad but not that bad.  After all, 64 bits is only 8 bites. devil  But I would run faster!

And that would be 16 nibbles!  I still say the person who invented all these terms was either hungry all the time, or snacking all the time.  Given more modern day programmers, I'd say the latter.   laugh
