PLEASE STAND BY FOR A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE....

With all that is going on in the news today... Please, please, please, America... Don't go shopping in your pajamas too.

There are enough problems in the world without you making it worse.

It will truly hasten the spiral into oblivion and can well be the tipping point into the abyss... Please think before you go outside in your pajamas.

Nothing less than the future of mankind is at stake... And this goes for you people in Europe and the UK too... And Canada and OZ... Okay... Please?

Or else around one hundred and twenty thousand years from now, when the highly irradiated sentient penguins are pointing to your bones in the Museum of Irrational History, and the tour guide explains that wearing pajamas in public places was what led to the downfall of humanity, you'll be directly to blame.

So just to summarize: Not only do pajamas worn to the grocery store, a diner, the movies or even Home Depot, look stupid and lazy, they are very bad for the future of mankind.

Its okay to wear them to the Emergency Room at hospital, if you have been shot or stabbed multiple times or you are taking someone you just woke up and shot and stabbed multiple times there... But if you are visiting a friend who is sick, put on some real clothes... Okay?

Real clothes in public = Good idea.

Pajamas in public = Bad idea + Bad for future.

Thank you for your time and remember: You can prevent the apocalypse by choosing responsible attire in public.

Seriously, if I see one more person wearing house slippers and a ratty-ass pair of grey plaid pajamas with the cuffs all shredded and worn because the damn elastic dropped dead, I'm gonna loudly inform them about the Penguins and how it's all gonna be their fault.  I just came back from the grocery store and there were like five youngish couples shopping in their pajamas... Is that what we want our fossils to say about us?  We gave up... Completely.

What Is a Sofa Table? | eHow

The sofa table dates back to the late 1700s and is, basically, a long drop-leaf table.

  • TangoAlphaTangoAlpha Posts: 4,587

It's either a table that goes behind a sofa, or . . . (like a sofa bed) a sofa that converts into a table. Obvs.

We're you trying to breed her or did it just happened?   When my female cat had kittens, it was not planned at all.

Yes, these were planned kittens. A part of my agreement with the breeder was that if Carisma gets in heat, we'll try to get a litter or two to happen. And she did, and these are the result.

And what a lovely result.   4 is a nice amount for a first litter,   I think I remember you saying she was around 2 years old.  I would still love to have one.

Heat exhaustion vs. heatstroke: What are the warning signs and how should you react?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, on average, over 600 people die from complications related to extreme heat each year in the United States - more than tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, lightning or any other weather event combined.

Heat-related deaths and illnesses are preventable, but it's important to identify the warning signs and to react swiftly and appropriately when they arise.

What's the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke?

Heat exhaustion is the precursor to heatstroke and is a direct result of the body overheating.

According to Mayo Clinic, heat exhaustion is identifiable by heavy sweating, rapid pulse, dizziness, fatigue, cool, moist skin with goose bumps when in the heat, muscle cramps, nausea and headache.

These symptoms may develop over time or come on suddenly, especially during or following periods of prolonged exercise.

When heat exhaustion is not addressed, heatstroke can follow.

Heatstroke is the most severe heat-related illness and, without emergency treatment, it can lead to death. It results when your body temperature rises to 104 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

"This is pretty complicated because a lot of things can happen. The short answer is it certainly can be fatal...," Peter Sananman, MD, assistant professor of emergency medicine at Penn Medicine, said.

At this temperature, your brain, heart, kidneys and muscles can also become damaged, leading to serious complications or death.

In the case of heatstroke, seeking medical attention is an absolute must, Sananman said.

In addition to a high body temperatures, the symptoms of heatstroke include altered mental state or behavior, nausea and vomiting, flushed skin, rapid breathing and racing heart rate.

"Generally with heat exhaustion, a patient is sweating a lot, whereas with heat stroke, they've stopped sweating and are actually dry. It's a good rule of thumb but isn't always true," he said.

We have a sofa table and it is definitely not a drop-leaf table.  It is just the right length so we put it behind our loveseat.  It sort of divides the large space into two rooms...home theater on the loveseat side, music area on the sofa table side.

I made a mistake of putting two bettas into the same tank.    I think but they are not fighting each other.  I do not have a tank big enough to put one of the bettas in.   They are both in the same twenty high.    They seem to be okay right now while keeping their distance from the other one as much as one can while being in a twenty high.    I cannot do anything about it right now though.  I feel like I put myself in a pickle.

Mars bars are nothing like Milky way.     Far far better.

One of their adverts used to be

A Mars a day, helps you work, rest and play.

When I ran the London Marathon it was sponsored by Mars and when we crossed the finish line we got a free mars bar and a sort of plastic foil blanket made like a Mars Wrapper, as well as a medal.   I think I do still have medal somewhere.
