The models are fine (usually, and so long as there are no instaces. Sometimes the UV map needs a little tweak). It's the shaders that need tweaking mostly. Which is why Carrara users often prefer Poser models, since the shaders need less work to look good.

might be less work to start from scratch.

tryin to kitbash a townscape.  gonna try Provence buildings next,

Not sure I'm buying that.  I'd like to see it being created.  Liquid is fluid, things like that don't stay in place.  I could be wrong, but I find it suspicious.

Those are probably photoshopped (saw a tut on how to do it), notice that both of those are the exact same photo, just cropped differently.

There are some cool coffee/milk pouring demos on youtube that also include using a brush to add details to real latte art, but nothing that ornate.

I suspected photoshop or a similar "magic".  Not the same cat though.  Look at the distinguishing marks, look at the different angle of the face to the viewer...not the same photo, not the same cat.  I imagine the color can just be captured with the eye dropper thing from real coffee/latte and applied to the photo of the cat.  That's just one step, of course.  Cool images just the same.

I liked the thing Castle did with the latte, making that heart shape.  Looked pretty easy to do, but I've never tried it...I don't drink coffee.

..so if there is a Poser component (which is becoming more and more rare these days) at least we have those shaders to work from.  Seems a big ball was dropped in this case.

...and it only looks to get worse as everything is now heading to Iray shaders.

Might be looking at making more purchases from Rendo.

My sympathies.  Five yappy dogs live in the house next door to me (300 feet away) and I still hear the friggin' things.

In the other direction, when I walk to the postoffice, some sort of yappy dog starts yapping when I'm two houses away and continues until I'm two houses past.  Mostly through the window but sometimes it's on a leash and will come running at me.

When I did housecalls for computer repair I'd encounter homes with resident yappy dogs.  The animated mops and nervous rats are the worst but I also came to dislike those pug nosed deformities that would come snorting and dribbling snot onto my pantleg and shoes.  Useless creatures.

When I rode bicycle around neighborhoods in Florida there was a house that I had to pass every time and the damn yappy dog there ran free and would attack my ankles everytime I rode by until the day I finally connected with a swift kick and launched it back into the middle of it's yard.  No appologies to the owners of yappy dogs.  angry

Complaint:  I terminated my DISH-TV contract to save the $100/month subscription fee.   All fine and good, and they even sent me a box to return my DVR device back to them.  When on the phone with them I asked if I had to return the antenna too but they said "no".  Well after nearly 10 days the return box finally arrived here. but now in the enclosed instructions I discover that what they didn't tell me on the phone is that unless I return the "LNB" (electronic gizmo at the focus of the dish shaped antenna and also the "switch" gizmo located somewhere in a weatherproof box on the outside of my house) I will be charged $150.  I'm nearly 70 years old and have trouble climbing stairs to go to bed.  When I originally signed up with them they were eager enough to send an installer person out to attach my antenna 20 feet up the side of my house but now that I'm leaving them they want me to climb a ladder that I don't have, and remove the LNB gizmo from the antenna and then find and remove the correct "switch" gizmo for my particular apartment (there are three weatherproof boxes out there and the wires disappear into the walls of the house. Oy!!!

Sigh, I've got the DVR device packed and I can probably sweep the cobwebs off the equipment boxes and figure out which one is mine, but I guess I'll have to try to find somebody with a bloody long ladder and pay them to climb up and disassemble my antenna before the remaining 20 day return grace period expires.

@LG: Refuse to pay them and tell them they can come and get it. Document everything thoroughly.

Doesn't sound to me like something they can require of you. It's their problem. not yours.

Alternately you could shoot it off the building and ship them the pieces. devilcheeky
