I dragged my old laptop with W10Pro and fired it up... still works but I did wipe it and put some version of linux on it to see how it went... installed fine and updated. Then I turned it off and put it back in the cupboard.
I have a Windows 95 IBM machine in the back shed somewhere ( unless the missus has turfed it ) tempted to see if it still works
moving stuff around in one's content library apparently
Carrara (not DAZ studio) asks me where it is!!!
this is just browsing to the library, not actually loading anything
smart content doesn't work in DAZ studio for me anyway but I think Carrara might still use it to some extent
I just plonked stuff by Predatron fom 4 different locations into one of his folders, the duf files, and Carrara asked me to browse to and find every one of them!
DAZ Studio doesn't, it just loads them from wherever I put them
Ok, now the good comment has disappeared. I am not going to rewrite it all, but
I posted my Easter card in the Show us your renders.
I noticed an issue: the lens flares are directly made by Carrara, but they were supposed to be stronger than what I posted at first. They were ok while I was rendering at small sizes, but my final renders are 4096x2304 (from which I then get the smaller ones)
It seems that, the higher the resolution, the weaker the lens flares become.
So, for the final renders I raised the streaks intensity (of the lights with lens flares) a lot. Now the render looks like it was meant to be since the beginning.
the light flares are actually postworked by Carrara so one could theoretically render them separately with other layers such as a depth map at a lower resolution to add in another program like Photoshop or Gimp with upscaling applied, or just add lens flares in another program in post for that matter
Wendy, did you buy the Cobra motorhome from meshwork's own site?
So the shop works via paypal?
I doubted this because they have a closing offer for 20$ every product, but the button doesn't work. Also, the contact email appears to be broken...
And is that the Sunflyer motorhome? Because when I click on the Cobra I get a page 404 error

yes
you need to go to the last product page to purchase the download from the link given
not clicking product names but the number/letter combination next to them towards the left
then go back on your browser for the next one
read the instructions carefully
there are a couple of different motorhomes and addons BTW

Comments
well Carrara itself is not the issue
its everything else
and that is the something that doesn't work in Carrara increasingly on Win10
I know Carrara itself works in Win11
Ditto what Diomede said, Wendy. My heart goes out to you!
Just keep your seatbelt fastened!

How to use Windows 10 ESU to keep getting updates after October 2025
Wow Stezza. That's Awesome! Very nice post, my friend! Thank You!!!
no probs if it works ok..

Always tempting to look back in time like that.

+1
Extended for another 12 months which works well for my computer replacement !!!
Genesis 9 animation conversions
the first ones are fine and were baked aniblocks I believe I used Bone Minion on some
others are iClone 3DX6 conversions
but
those last ones were keyframed G8 animations converted with n_alexandru's script
and in Carrara they are crazy
I need to test further if its the script or the animations themselves how they are keyframed
may be an interpolation thing
AND if it happens in D|S as I save and render them on the character after conversion
not loading the saved pose file, it could be a save issue too
Talk about doing the Jitterbug !!!
my timeline was not showing everything as some of my body parts collapsed so missed a lot of keyframes
Carrara still does weird spins though as need to use angles in motion and forget
this balloon dog for $10499.30 doesn't quite work right in Carrara but it is an easy excersise in getting it to work
first you will need the Carrara Plugin called Daz Studio
Open you expensive balloon dog in DS and then export in OBJ format and set for Carrara to your fav folder for doing stuff like this
then one at a time in DS apply the pose and export each time the same as before and name it the pose you have applied
when all that is done open Carrara
import the OBJ default balloon dog ... it will be a bit over size when imported so adjust it back to 100%
then into the modelling room... select all of the object and create morph
in the morph you created create a morph and call it one of the poses you saved, then import the balloon posed OBJ file and appy
do same for all the poses and then you will have a working balloon dog worth $10,499.30 working in Carrara
then all that you need to do is create a balloon texture for the balloon dog
Nice to actually be able to use a $10,499.30 asset, thanks for the info.
"first you will need the Carrara Plugin called Daz Studio".
I think that's the same plugin I use these days for Nano Banana Pro...

Here you can see both images in two separate posts

I know, I was pointing out, as a reminder, a behaviour that could be unexpected. It was for me, at least.
I want to use Carrara
it just makes me cry
none of the Genesis 9 poses are now working on my saved blended weight Genesis 9 characters
my DAZ Content folder won't update
had to load blended weight mapped clothing via file because would error from browser
I am just so frustrated
I am going to try resaving in D|S4.11
rear wheels of Meshworks Cobra motorhome don't turn
but they don't turn in DAZ Studio either
maybe I need to hide them and cut off another set from the model and parent them
update
is a prop version I could easily cut up
just used it's rear wheel but might actually be easier to use whole thing

Just bought the package with no problems.
A couple of the download links came up with a 404 error, but the majority worked okay.
