    There's a big PC Plus sale in October every year. This year was my first, and it was pretty incredible. They had the memberships on sale for a good portion of the month at a pretty good savings. I think I paid $56 for a year instead of $70. They had the quarterly memberships on sale too, I believe for under $20 but don't quote me on that.

    I know they go on sale at other times of the year too. Just keep an eye out. There's big stuff during March Madness, but there might be something coming up with after Christmas sales, who knows. Last year's were very good.

    Hum... I think you're right. They were all PC items, but only some have the discount and it doesn't show up if I'm not logged in. However, I don't have PC+, can't afford it. It's not on my account either. Really weard. I'll see if I can find something anyway. It's a crapshoot though, I can only see the discount in the cart.

    If you can't afford PC+...Once or twice a year PC+ membership will go on sale.  I got mine for $10.  I'm sure that price is only an introductory rate.  But, I've ...errr "saved" a ton of money by having it.  Considering how much more stuff I've bought because of the savings....well, you get the idea...LOL

     

    I've never been able to catch those sales. Maybe next year.

    The Holiday Loyalty Rewards apply to memberships, so you may be able to start with a slight discount now. Not as big as around the PC+ sales, but it's still discounted.

    Ok, did my hunting through the free offers.  Took the better part of 6 hours, but I did it!  Clocked in at 41 items wanted... hmm.  Well, start at the most expensive I guess.

    Even without the freebie code, some of these things are clocking in at 70-80% off.  So now it's a game of chicken... do I hope for more freebies the next 2 days, or check out now? Hmm.

    Also, I have a cat now!

    Yeah, I think after a while we all develop a method to our shopping madness. Mine is going with more recent, more likely to use stuff, though not opposed to older stuff if it's useful. The key is- will I actually use it, do I need it now, and will it ever be free or supercheap again? And of course- do I need it at all? Do I have something like that already?

    I've been doing that with the sales too. There are some items I want to pick up before the end of the year with the extra holiday discount, but focusing on the featured items and PAs each day because the extra savings is so significant. Bought a lot of Saiyaness, Dimension Theory and FWSA stuff that had been on my wishlist for a while. Yesterday it was Flipmode and a couple of others. I don't normally buy so much, but the PA, PC+ and Christmas sales have been phenomenal this year.

    I've been grabbing a little bit of older stuff that might make me more likely to use older content, like V3, V4, H4, M4 poses, clothes and hair. That stuff is hard to find free, and there isn't a lot of it, and those characters can make good low-resource background characters in crowds and other multi character scenes where a couple G2 and G3 characters start choking my 2GB video card. Especially the generation "3" legacy characters.

    ​But I've also been looking at the total price, the usefulness - and using ATI's browser plug in to look at the pricing trends. Some of the things that say they're $9.99 have been at $1.99 since august. I'm banking on that staying this way after the sale - and though I *want* them... if I *need* them later on, if they're still two bucks, I'll just buy them. Something that is on sale for $1.99 right now but has gone between $11 and $1.15 and spent a lot of time priced higher - I'll grab that, because odds are when I NEED it, it won't be on sale.

    ​@ATI 's browser plugin is awesome.

    The code changes every day, so we get new freebies every day. Today's code is: DAY-SIX-BONUS - yesterday was DAY-FIVE-BONUS, the day before that was DAY-FOUR-BONUS - etc etc. So DEFINITELY check out to get your freebies every day. If you don't use the new code every day you miss out on the freebies for that day.

    Yeah, Ati is spoiling us completely! The browser plugin is insanely good and the latest improvements have made it even better. Seeing the sales price history is really handy. Not sure how he does that. And then the wishlistify just totally rocks and makes life easier. And I love getting his emails telling me my wishlist is on sale. A man after my own heart, LOL.

    My strategy with the over-4000-items-to-choose-from-free-category was to bookmark items that kept finding their way into my cart, only to be removed to whittle the costs down.  They might not be on my wishlist, but obviously I want them on some level. Price plays a role to a degree, but filling out collections is important, too. As of today, for example, I finally have all five of the Diner Food products.

    I added diner food 2 today. Every now and then I have a need for a render with food in it, and I never have any food - and food is difficult to find on free sites for some reason. 

    In the future, if I have a need for a render with food in it, it'll be happening at breakfast time. :D

    It's funny how getting a free item at times with a purchase isn't that rare, but the current selection and amount of freebies is I believe unprecedented. On day 1 I thought 'Oh I've narrowed it down to 3-4 items I want' but now after days of all these great free items my wishlist has grown far longer and I've found items I swear were never there before, even for figures as recent as G2F. Mostly right now I'm going for environments and practical objects because they transcend figures and renderers and I severely underuse them. I always tell myself "I could just make an appropriate environment for a scene I needed" but then I get totally sidetracked on that forever.

    There are a few plate sets and food items that aren't the PC+ sets mixed in there, normally much more expensive.

    Which is also encouraging me to buy more new releases than ever (though having an even better new release discount than March Madness helps!) So while I'm getting a ton of free and ridiculously cheap stuff, I'm also spending far more than usual in a month I hadn't planned to spend anything.

    Anyone upset about anything that has happened in the store at the DAZ market... 

    Should go check out the Christmas sales and freebies at those OTHER content markets. It is like Macy's is giving away free t-shirts and shoes every day and most of the things in the store are discounted 70% or more... and Dillards has a few items at 50% off and is giving away free paper ornaments that you have to cut out yourself.

    This is one of the big reasons I continue to shop here while I've lost interest in the other stores unless there's something I really, really want - which I rarely know about since I'm never loading those sites whereas Daz has me checking their store daily.

    I do get newsletters from them but my response to most of the things in them has been "eh whatever" at best. I did find it interesting that certain figures appear to have moved over there with great fanfare but one shan't comment on such things.

    I check most other 3D sites daily just like DAZ, you never know what you will find. With Ali (mankahoo.com) having 50% of hair products (new ones have genesis 3 fits) at their site, Xurge3D having their latest sale and Rendo having some great deals also for the holidays, I am spending wayy to much money.

    I'm not knocking the content of other sites, or their free deals. I mean, free is free, and all free content is helpful. 

    I'm just saying that it must be frustrating for those sites when they see the deals that DAZ has been coming up with this season.

I bookmarked it the second day when it definitely was, but it doesn't seem to be in the 64 pages of stuff I see now when I view the Christmas Week Bonus Selection with "Hide items I own checked". (No, I don't own it - I checked my Product Library)

    I just checked and it doesn't appear to be part of the freebies anymore. About three or four days ago the Christmas Week Bonus Selection went from a little over 4,500 items to a little over 4,000 items. So it's likely one of the 500 items that where removed.

    Thanks, that would indeed explain it. Looks like all the old and decaying texture sets with ivy plants were among those 500 or so. No matter, that'll make it a bit easier to select today's seven freebies !

    There's a really nice Santa today. I bought the character, suit and hair bundle only $7.20...

    But DAZ, I sure could have used him last month when I was designing this year's Christmas cards! LOL

    (I suppose he wasn't in the pipeline, though, or he would have been released around the same time as the other Santa/Christmas stuff.)

    I think Daz has a master plan - I already had too many areas of interest (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Contemporary, The Great Outdoors, to name a few) but now I'm looking at the 1950's stuff and thinking "Well, I've already got the Moonshine diner, and the roller-waitress outfit, and the short-order cook...Hmmm ...that B-Movie for the short-order cook looks nice and versatile...and then I'll need customers....those textures for the 1950 casual outfits look nice....and someone to drive that car..." etc etc

    Grrr :p

    I've almost decided on 8 for today...but I'm leaving the cart to sit awhile so I can mull over which renders I want to do the most.

    They are both still showing for me. When I sort price high to low, those two items show up on my page 2.  (They're listing at 10.47 PC club price.)

    Edit: With Hide everything I have unchecked, they show up on page 3 searching high to low on price....so page 2 or 3 seaching price high to low filter.

    I picked up the lamb yesterday - I still see the piglet on P.2 if you sort 'high to low' price

    Why did I get the impression that today was the last day for it?  I think I was going on the 'week before Christmas' idea being 7 days.  So nothing official.  I'd love another day of this though.

    I decided I was happy with my cart - bought two new outfits to go with free textures, got free textures for stuff I already had, Colonel Chaos, Moonshine Diner Fallen texture (wish there was an interiors fallen set, if only for the seating and tables), and a bunch more stuff.
