they do those 'mystery' type advertising also...i think it may have to do with cookies or tracking or something? I'll often be somewhere on a page that has absolutely nothing to do with either daz or art, and I'll see an ad for DAZ on it.
I'm of the same thinking. I rarely rarely think "oh that price is too much" when it comes to daz stuff...I think prices here are pretty good. Like Ix, I just can't always afford them - nothing to do with the price that's been set; it's that whole pesky "on a pension" thing I've got going for me. LOL
For some reason none of the freebies are working for me at the moment ... but walking off with an $800 for $60 is probably enough of a christmas present already (+ $20 haha you're from Australia tax.)
I have to say I rarely go for the random fantasy whatever outfits, but the Hex Arcanum set won me over immediately. Nice rance of setups and alternatives all included, and wow how do you get the outfits looking like that in renders, looks straight from a game o.o
LOL the store hiccuped for a moment there with a bunch of stuff at super stacking prices. I didn't pick up anything -- more interested in poking around the discounts -- but it was still funny while it lasted :)
Oops all the prices went back to normal ... it did seem a bit excessive. Oh well, most of my discount came from getting Mega Keiko (which I owned half of already) + Monique 6 + Darius 6 for $20 total, while I paid the proper price for the new Hex Arcanum release, so I don't feel bad~
Time for a bit of fun...
We all know DAZ has "issues" getting the discounts working correctly. I went to my Messages > Exclusive Offers inbox to see if the message for Day 3 was up yet. This is what I found:
The Subject of the message says it's Day One Bonuses, the link text states Day 2 Featured Releases, and the link title, (which shows when hovering over the link, but was lost by the process of doing the screencapture,) says "Day 1 Featured Releases." See the snippet of code from the page source code to verify...
And I almost forgot. It expires Daz Midnight, on the 18th... which is Day 2 of "The Amazing Week Before Christmas"... about an hour ago!
Ho, ho, ho. It's a happy holiday blooper.
I'm sure DAZ will get it straightened out soon. Hopefully before it becomes an Orange Banner. But I thought you folks might enjoy a laugh.
I have that same message too L'Adair. Unfortunately I spent too much time laughing at it to be able to take advantage of the 85% discounts the 2015 top seller catagory items had. They were quick to fix that glitch, at least.
Nevermind the freebies do work fine - I'm just an idiot and forgot you needed a coupon code for it.
All this talk about licenses has me thinking: license expires with your death. So the goal in life would be to make at least one worthwile render with every piece of content (or at least every piece of content you paid for) so that at least you could say you used it. Content can't be passed on, but pictures/renders can.
I guess you never bought huge Gift Cards then.

Regarding the prices and cart issues:
I've tried to keep my mouth shut on this, but here goes. I've worked in IT for many years, with plenty of tech support and web support experience. I've also been an online shopper for nearly two decades. I've never seen some of these issues at any other site I've shopped at, including some of the other 3D sites. I love DAZ, love the sales, love the PAs. But the shopping cart issues are insane here sometimes, as well as the long response times.
It's an online store, offering products 24 hours a day. If there's something wrong, someone needs to be on call or watching over the site/store to fix problems. It's not our job as customers to find those problems, but often we do. Sometimes I feel like we're the guinea pigs of "what's wrong with the store today" and many times it's this thread calling attention to them, which is ridiculous. This is a sales thread! We're simply posting about the deals we got, because most of us enjoy shopping here, or at least, try to.
My burning question is this: Isn't anything being tested before it's put into production? Is there a test environment of any kind to make sure things will run smoothly, or is it all "fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants" live production? Right now, it seems like the early morning shoppers are the ones finding the bugs.
If the prices are wrong, it's not our job to fix them or "not buy" something because the price is wrong. The prices are not the customer's fault. If you're going to run an online store 24/7, or offer something for sale in one, that's YOUR job (DAZ and the PAs) to make sure those prices are correct. People can wax moral about it all they want, but in the end, the only thing a customer can do is decide whether or not to click the "buy" button. If the prices are low enough, many will- because they enjoy the products, the sales, and the program. Judging customers for doing so only alienates them.
Nope. I just added Priya for G3F by Sayeness for 75% off (5 dollars) and am now sitting on it, thinking about how all of my store credit will be gone before New Year. I shouldn't. I should empty the cart, take the 3 freebies and never get to DAZ store again.
I actually meant at least one image per piece of content. Not every piece in one image. But yes, that would be one heck of an image. Perhaps with a render farm one could get something really big akin to those gigantic "Last judgement" paintings?
I agree with everything Llynara said - these issues have been going on since the new store was implemented which was...what...two years ago?
And don't forget, it's a world wide 24 hour shop....so the new releases go up at 5pm my time, which is when I'm sitting in front of my computer, so I see the glitches adn problems as they happen. And normally, if the glitches are incorrect discounts and coupons not applying etc, I have to wait till I'm up the next morning for them to be fixed.

That said, I am not sure why Fantasy Skins is not listed as new anymore and is 58% off today PLUS holiday discounts. Wow! This just came out, though I can't remember which sale page it was on, maybe one that's done already? I don't have a chance to look further, gotta freeze my butt off heading to work, LOL. Wind chills are -30 right now. Definitely need to render that Gilligan's Island scene!

do you know if let's say one get YESTERDAY the 3 free items with the yesterday code, one can get again today WITH THE TODAY CODE the 4 new free items (with of course all the conditions i.e. new item etc...)?
The codes are only good for the one day. You can not use yesterays code today.
If you got the 3 free items yesterday, you can also get the 4 free items today.
Take the three freebies and wait to see where this sale goes. A full six more days till Christmas.

I do find myself thinking about that extra holiday discount and the possible advent (hah hah) of Darius. People were disappointed that Monique didn't seem to bring extra discounts on her partner but today.... what's the common discount for a new release? 58%?
If you're a PC+ member, It's 51%: 30% for the new release discount, stacked with 30% for PC+ members. Then add in the Loyalty Rewards Discount (LRD), for another 25-30% off. Assuming Darius is released tomorrow, and assuming the Amazing Week Before Christmas (AWBC) bonus is still in play, the total stacking discount could be as high as 72%. (That's also assuming the AWBC bonus goes up another 3%, as it has all week so far. For me, anyway.) But you will have to buy Darius on the day he's released, else you drop back down to your "normal" LRD

I passed it by time and time again. Finally, today, with 4 free items... I decided to take a shot. It is a V4 thing... but maybe some day I'll do a STYX retro sexy Art Deco Robot render for some reason or other... right...

I haven't tried it with DAZ... but it is pretty explicit. Not sure how I managed to miss that for so long.
That'll be the chrome mats - wouldn't take much to use a shader on it in DS (Iray or 3DL) - worth trying for free, no?
Already gave it a go. The helmet loads and fits fine, and the chrome mat gives an interesting, reflective glossy liquid black quicksilver look.
I used a couple of metal shaders - but getting the body to match the material texture of the helmet is beyond my current experience level, I guess... the body is very smooth and the helmet has a bit of grain. I suspect there are some textures I could load that come with the content that would fix this. Something new to learn.
Totally worth it for free. :)
