aha they did add more items and not remove the old ones. Sucks for anyone that bought something to fill the numbers yesterday.

Seriously Daz's sales tactics make me want to stop shopping altogether sometimes. Maybe if I'd have gotten one of those lucky 40% gift cards I might buy something but I'm pretty put off right now.

I only got one item yesterday. It was still cheaper on its own than with the triggering new item. Percentage off isn't everything.

Today I loaded up the cart, trimmed it down again to a semi-affordable level, shrugged and went "There's always another sale." Emptied out the cart.

Of course, should I win the lottery tonight, tomorrow may be another story.

True - I'm not trying to say that the initial deals aren't good. 40% off a brand new item is still decent. But when it appears with something else you wanted the very next day and now they're both 50% off combined, there is no positive effect towards the customer.

Oh, the deals are definitely good; but these are all items I've been looking at for a while and "Do I have a burning need for this thing right now? No..." starts to sound louder than "WANT! NOW!". I will probably still buy them eventually, but it doesn't have to be now.

Yesterday I thought there were just 12 items back on sale, but today, like yesterday, it says browse all twelve, but then links to a lot more products. Was that also the case yesterday? Please tell me I didn't mess up by choosing from just the twelve items.

Okay. "You didn't mess up by choosing from just the twelve items."

Unfortunately, there were significantly more than twelve to choose from. Looks like they are all still there today, though, along with a bunch more. Somebody has really messed up the code on that page. The next button, for the Mega Fast Grab, says "Browse all 187"... There are 187 featured new releases today, and 1000s of items in the Mega Fast Grab...

  • Errm... Today's promo picture is kinda confusing, as nearly a half of the products shown are NOT part of today's sale at the time of my writing:

    - Military Dress Uniform for G3M
    - Clinical Therapy Outfit
    - ESA Europa Corridor
    - Megaton outfit

I just hope it is a mistake which will be fixed or clarified in the next few hours. :P

So with the PC sale coming up and the PA Sale winding down, I'm considering whether or not its worth it to buy a bunch of $1.99 PC+ items in my wishlist right now for a hypothetical 20% off, or will the PC sale be better than that?

I can't imagine there's much room to discount items that are already $1.99. I still haven't read anything about how the PC sales worked last year except someone said there were bundles of items.

But that just sounds like they want to persuade me to buy things I don't really need. So the bundle idea is not compelling to me. Now if I found out I got to create my own bundles for XX% off, or something like that, that would be a different story. Anybody have any insight on this from last year?

Last year there was a mega freebie bundle of PC+ items, and then ...several? PC+ bundles of multiple items for very cheap during the month. All PC+ items were 50% for the whole sale if I remember correctly.

50% off for all PC+ sounds good. I guess I'm waiting then!

No guarantee it'll be the same this year, of course, but last year the PC+ was much more memorable than PA sale for me.

I spent *way* more than I planned last PA sale. It was actually kind of ridiculous at times.

Last year I was still new so I bought billions of PC+ items during the sale. This year I'm guessing I'll already have most of the ones I want so it should be much quieter.

This was my first PA sale and soon to be PC sale, so I spent way more than I planned, especially this weekend. I think I would have saved money if I went to Vegas instead, lol. But I took my wishlist from 300 items down to around 25, so once I pick up these PC+ items I want, I should be done for good.

  • NathNath Posts: 2,940

Well, that was that then... With all the stuff I picked up this weekend in addition to what I got earlier, my wishlist is down to 81 from 235 or so. Not that I bought that many, but this was also a good exercise in "if I'm not buying at this price..." trimming of the wishlist.

All in all, I'm happy with the month, and there's only 14 minutes left to remember that I'd quite like to eat next month and so resist picking up the last few items...

There's a few PC+ items in the wishlist that I'll pick up next month, but if it's a bundle sale again like last year, I already have most of them. Of course for all we know there could be loads of new PC+ and Daz Original content waiting for us, but I'll burn that bridge when I get to it.

Same here. I really managed to trim my wishlist to almost nothing -- bought some and deleted others. Whats left is mostly either PC+ or those in between items that are still classed as 'new' but old enough that they weren't part of the PA sale One of the most difficult items for me to delete was StoneMason's 'Streets of Asia" series. But I needed to save a little bit for the PC+ sale.

Travel Baggage best item yet. Going to have to grab that before it goes off sale. Or maybe during the final final 3 day catchup last sale of the month?

I don't think ALL PC+ items were discounted. Many of them were, maybe even more than 50%, but I think it wasn't everything. I may be wrong...

  • lx_2807502lx_2807502 Posts: 2,996

Hrm I thought it was all but the new releases.

Then again I'm going solely off memory so I could be wrong. Regardless if you needed many PC+ items it was an amazing sale.

My wishlist has increased, as the gift card offers were underwhelming from my POV.

I am, however, still in the market for a good offer that doesn't insist I buy stuff I don't want.

Even many of the DO Genesis 3 stuff (non PC+) released in the last 6 months were upto 78% off. Good sale indeed.

See attached. 50% off on two items... they were normally about $18 and change each. They were just over $18 for BOTH of them in the basket... and Steph and Josie were free...

So, $20 spread out over 4 pieces of content is about $5 per piece of content.

Don't forget the new weekly freebie (Free with any purchase): http://www.daz3d.com/old-industrial-interior Then  it would be $20 for 5 items rather than 4.

Huh? Aren't they free even without additional purchase (except membership of course), or are you talking about some other PC-benefit I didn't hear about yet??

( Well, the industrial interior at least I missed - logged in one day too late, *ouch* - Not that I'd really need it, but for free it wouldn't have been bad )

If I won the lottery tonight the PAs would be VERY HAPPY indeed. lol I know a handfull of PAs that I'd basically buy every one of their products (I like them that much! lol). :) One PA I have like 98% of her items in my wish list.

The same over here. wink ... and they're continuing the PA sale, maybe even with another catch-up?? surprise *ouch* - Not that I don't like it, but my finances are bound to have a different impression... frown

I have a lot of things in my wishlist that are "conditional"... I keep them there so I can easily find them when the time comes I actually need them. But my wishlist exploded this month as I couldn't afford to buy everything I wanted. That will be true for at least the next six months as I throw money at the ol' CC to pay off the new computer! Painful for now, but worth it in the long run. And the stuff I can't afford now, will be eligible for discounts by the time the computer is paid for. Seems like a win-win... and if DS has support for the Pascal nVidia cards by then, it'll be a win-win-win! Woo hoo!

And, yeah, a pretty good PA sale, perhaps all the better for not having a plethora of things I "must have now," in light of the computer purchase, lol... Now if I can only survive the PC+ anniversary sale.
