Have you tried using it? The setup is completely weird.
First it installs in /Environment/Architecture/Digitllabs3D/Conjuring Apparatus. Why isn't it in Props?
Second, you get a Set DUF with every prop arranged in a semi circle and they are 400 cm off center. And there isn't a single group holding them. So they just litter the root node of the scene. Each trick has its own group.
Third, if you center the current camera on one of the tricks, it focuses near the origin but the props are still 400cm off center. Weird.
Fourth, you also get 17 zeroed props. But they aren't labeled by trick. "CA Chains" belongs to the coffin escape trick. But as a zero prop it is useless since it only wraps around the coffin. None of the doors, separate props, are relative to their cabinets and there's no rigging. "CA Water" goes with the water escape. And you have to fit it to the box yourself.
The props look good by themselves. But it will take a lot of work to use them as part of magic trick scene.
That does sound really weird, Maybe they were thinking that this would be good for a stage set up? Still, very strange. The categorization also, but I put props and environments in my own content folders, so that doesn't bother me as much. Maybe there was a stage supposed to go with the props initially?
- On another note, the new Search Aware script (https://www.daz3d.com/search-aware--smart-content-search-manager) sounds eerily like MS Copilot for DS to me: "From the moment Daz Studio starts, Search Aware is listening — every search you type into Daz Studio's Smart Content search is captured automatically, in the background, whether or not its window is open." Yeah, no. No thanks indeed.
This vendor generally seems to have a penchant for AI-leaning/like tools.
Thanks for taking a look, and I want to clear up two things. Search Aware is not a script, it is a compiled plugin that took me months to make, and it contains no AI of any kind - no model, no inference, no learning, nothing that reads or interprets what you type. Nor do any of my other products... It keeps a list. When you hit enter in a Smart Content or Content Library search box, that text is added to a list, the same way a browser keeps bookmarks, so you can run the search again with a click instead of retyping it. You can pin the ones you use often and sort them into folders.
On the part that matters most: nothing leaves your computer. Search Aware contains no networking code whatsoever - no sockets, no HTTP, no URLs, no telemetry, no analytics, no connection to me or to anyone else. Nor do any of my other products. The list is a single plain file in your own AppData folder, on your own machine, and that is the end of the journey. You can open it and read it, and the panel has a Clear button and a right-click Delete if you want a term to be gone.
I made Search Aware, so I do not have hundreds of search terms floating around in my head. The program function records when you hit enter in the Daz Studio search boxes and lists your searches for you so you can see your searches and organize them. What could be more helpful? You uninstall the program using DIM and your searches are then lost again.
One more thing worth saying. Every plugin I ship is code signed. To get a signing certificate my identity had to be verified by a certificate authority, and the file you install carries that signature, so Windows can tell you it came from me and has not been altered since I built it. A signature does not prove what a program does - nothing can prove that except reading it - but it does mean I am not anonymous. If I shipped something that collected data and sent it somewhere, it would lead straight back to my name, the certificate would be revoked, and I would be done publishing software. I am not going to spend a reputation and a signing certificate on a list of search terms.
There is confidence in knowing that when it is installed and you reopen Search Aware in any version of Daz Studio from the plugins menu that your searches will all be there listed to organize and you do not have to remember them again. Simple as that.

Thanks for your explanations, it was quite interesting to learn about the signing process and such, and what the plugin (apologies for the 'script') actually does.
I didn't mean to insinuate that you as the creator were planning anything sinister with the Search Aware product. If it seemed that way, I'm truly sorry. It's really just what I said it is, a felt similarity to the way Win 11 behaves on the user's PC. I never thought though that Search Aware would start ferrying over data, or anything of that kind, of course not.
In relation to the AI comment, I was mainly referring to the Blender TV add-ons.

Is there any rhyme (rime? ) or reason why these particular figures are "worthy crew"? Most of them seem to be figures withou t readme's from when there was that mass influx of PAs 3 or so years ago.
And I'm still waiting for bathroom facilities to exist somewhere on AcharyaPolina's beach.
I do like AcharyaPolina usually, but that new yacht is a joke, from the point of realism. Even a really bad sailor like me needs only one glance to see that. Might work for backgrounds far away, if you intend anyone to actually believe there is a working yacht in your render, choose another model.

My reaction was that the PA had never been on a yacht and winged it. I'll give it points for two things...the sails can be furled and possibly let in and out, and there are no fenders hanging along the sides. The cabin top is butt ugly and unlike anything I've ever sailed on, the galley is going to lose everything when the boat's heeling and what powers the stove? It will not be joining my virtual fleet.
Are you saying there some mesh or texture quality issue with the 3D asset being sold?
I believe they are referencing a previous post series where they were joking "what if the people at DAZ wear the "skimpwear" that gets released to work and think its normal". In that conversation they said it probably was the people who work in quality control.

The thing is it is normal. Stores sells even skimpier items all over the Internet. I find the folks here who whine about skimpwear tiresome. Don't like it, don't buy it. Don't like seeing it being among the more common items sold, become a seller and sell other stuff. Someone must be buying it. Or there wouldn't be so much of it for sale. The PA probably spent a lot of days getting that item to work. And then they come here and someone with an "I would never buy that" attitude is crapping on their hard work. And then we wonder why PAs are leaving the Daz shop for greener pastures.
There's a saying that has been lost to the Internet: If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

I've looked at the outfit several times and I don't see a quality control issue either.
The only possible issue I can see is with the promos for the add-on texture set. They show distortion on the straps on the top where the straps don't follow the laws of physics. If the outfit is truly set up properly for dForce, the top can be simulated and those distortions will disappear. Even if the outfit isn't set up to use dForce properly, I find no reason to disparage the outfit based on that alone. I have many many many outfits from vendors people rave about that have serious boob cling issues that can't be removed using dForce, because they aren't set up to use dForce to properly remove the cling. So unless DAZ makes this a requirement to clothing sold in the store (including their own), then QA really has no say in the issue.
I the for what it's worth department .... this is an outfit I WOULD buy, but at a lower price point, or if somewhere in the description it was very clear that it is set up to use dForce to fix the cling/distortion issue. If I need to fix it myself, I would need it to be less expensive for the additional work I would have to do to make it look good on any character (and yes, there are vendors that set up their products to properly remove these issues with dForce).
I do like AcharyaPolina usually, but that new yacht is a joke, from the point of realism. Even a really bad sailor like me needs only one glance to see that. Might work for backgrounds far away, if you intend anyone to actually believe there is a working yacht in your render, choose another model.
And you didn't even mention the horribly off-scale textures in the add-on pack. They make it look like a toy. I don't know what's been going on with AP... a vendor I've bought over 150 items from... lately, as their textures have recently become all over the map lately, often looking more toon-like than something real.
And to make matters worse, this latest comment that this person makes implies the clothing item is of poor quality, with the comment and pic implies "quality control missed something". So tell me why does Daz moderation allow someone to make claims like this? This seems like a really poor business decision. Sue Yee makes some of the best clothing in the store, she makes a wide variety of clothing and I've purchased a lot of it, most of it has been really great dresses and quite conservative in nature, shoes, hats, you name it. Its always of the best quality in workmanship. So why is it tolerated? Why is the moderaton team very tolerant of "intolerance" when it comes from one side, and one side only?
If Daz is selling the item in the store, its very strange that the moderation team would allow people to disparage the very work of the PAs who work for them, is it not? It seems the moderation team and the product teams are not on the same page. If Daz production team thought it was too skimpy then they would not have released it. And if Sue Yee, who mostly make conservative dresses and stuff, is now making skimpwear, it means there is a market for it. She is making what sells.

I HAVE complained about skimpy male clothing in the past, but not for prudish reasons, but rather the fact that so many "sexy" male outfits don't even come with a shirt and we're charged the price of a full outfit for a pair of pants and bracers.
Outoftouch has become one of my favorite fashion artists, Outoftouch's clothing is of excellent quality and design, and highly practical; you can feel the artist's dedication.
The classic soldier design, consistently high quality, and we already have soldier, royal guard, and villager designs. It would be fantastic to see products featuring generals, emperors, or figures based on legends or historical figures in the future.
How does the search history pass from one compiuter to another?
Hi James,
It does not pass from one computer to another on its own - that part is a manual copy, exactly as you guessed.
The list is saved to one file, so moving it is a copy and paste. The folder is %APPDATA%\EZ3DTV\Search Aware and there are two files in it. history.json is the list of search terms, and searchaware.json holds your pins and your folders. Close Daz Studio, copy either file or the whole folder to the same place on the other computer, and that machine opens with the same list.
A thumb drive works, and so does a network share or a cloud folder. It is a small plain text file - you can open it in Notepad and read it.
On a single computer there is nothing to copy at all. Both versions of the plugin, the Daz Studio 4 build and the Daz Studio 6 build, read and write that same folder, so whichever one you open shows the same list.
Nothing leaves your computer. Search Aware does not sync, and there is no network code in it at all - no uploads, no server, no account, nothing to sign in to. The list is saved to that one file on your own drive, and that is the only place it exists.
One thing worth knowing before you copy between machines: it replaces rather than combines. If both computers have lists you want to keep, copy one over and then re-run the missing searches on that machine so both end up in the list.
There are very few people who want there to be no skimpy female clothing; the complaint is the extent to which it dominates the market. For example, whenever we get a "business suit" for women, odds are that it's going to be cut with a neckline so low or open that the rest of the office will get to know exactly what bra she is or isn't wearing (and usually with no undershirt included, so you have to play silly games trying to fit another top under it without clipping).
If anything, the fact that the men get so few outfits with less coverage is rubbing salt in that wound.
Also, I would note that I imagine most people don't feel hugely qualified to comment on clothing from other cultures. I don't know exactly how accurate that is to genuine African warrior dress (although it doesn't strike me as wildly inconsistent with photos I've seen), whereas I can more reasonably say that I don't run into many people with their underwear hanging out in the workplace.
So tell me why does Daz moderation allow someone to make claims like this? This seems like a really poor business decision.
It's a bad look for a company to stamp down on every criticism of their products. There some things Daz are compelled to remove for legal/liability reasons (such as accusing a vendor of breaking rules or IP law), but outside that, I think they are pretty lenient about what they allow to be said here, as long as it doesn't descend into protracted arguments or insults.
As Gordig says, the joke (which I assume is a call-back to the earlier suggestion that Daz QA dress like this without realising it's not normal) may not have been entirely thought out - I do think Sue Yee makes higher quality stuff than many on the store (with almost ludicrously clean topology). That said, I'm definitely not rushing to buy these pieces; I look forward to her sensible outfits, not the skimpy ones.
A number of posts have been removed. Please drop the discussion of skimpwear, and of what other people said or think about skimpwear. The froums need people to focus on the topics under discussion, not the character or nature of the other participants.
While MelanieL is correct and it might work for that case, none of the reference I used were from famous paintings/sculptures. Mostly fashion photos. Volume two will feature more upper body coverage and shouldn't be too long of a wait.... in case anyone is wondering. I'm hoping to still do a couple more volumes (one of which may be male focused "nudes"). Thank you to anyone who's made a purchase now or in the future!

Are you saying there some mesh or texture quality issue with the 3D asset being sold?
I don't see any immediately obvious technical issues. It isn't anything I'd buy, even at Outlet prices, but it looks decently done.
Given the promo page showing all the adjustment sliders, it almost feels over-engineered.

Volume two will feature more upper body coverage and shouldn't be too long of a wait.... in case anyone is wondering. I'm hoping to still do a couple more volumes (one of which may be male focused "nudes"). Thank you to anyone who's made a purchase now or in the future!
Haven't seen much of anything that catches my eye at all lately. Not really normal for me.
Most new marketplace assets seem... amateurish, for lack of a better term?
