That's an interesting question. Given the prices compared to interactive licences my guess would be they forgot to enable the interactive license option, but you never know. I reposted it in the sales error thread so that they can check with Daz
I'm happy for the game-ready stuff for the folk who are into it. Not me, but more buyers means Daz stays afloat. Not putting all eggs in one basket, and all that.
Not a fan of the new storefront, but I didn't like the old one either, so I guess I'm just unimpressed in a different way. Meh.
I do like the new "in wishlist" banner across the bottom of the relevant tiles. That yellow heart was hard to see sometimes.
I can't seem to be able to download the FBX one
I chose the same free character to compare it with DAZ Studio FBX export
kind of wish I'd chosen a different one
the Genesis 9 one downloads in DIM but I don't get a manual download dialogue in Edge for the FBX one
just a product library page without a download buttons
clicking the FBX icon in the picture on the left doesn't work either
a Zip is actually what I expected
added the duf capture to show it has all the download options including zip
I got another, she has a download option.
has now
update,
iClone 6 3DX doesn't like the FBX version for the blendshapes but that's unsurprising given its age
I will need to also do a whole new retargeting profle as my G9 one doesn't work
not sure what skeleton it uses, none of the options I have
not looked in Unreal Engine yet
Automaps perfectly in UE4.27
humanoid rig recursive retargeting set to skeleton loads the Unreal Mannequin BP animations correctly
Grrr, all those "wonderful" new assets at the beginning of the store page. The first thing I thought was "Great, something else I need to filter out!" Speaking of which, the filters don't want to go away when you're done with them and want to see the page. But Daz finally gave us a price filter!
So, is there any reason I should bother with that free DUF version of a game ready character when I don't make games? Can I mix it with standard assets & use it in the background? Does it come with clothing and hair shown?
There's a "show/hide filters" option which hides the filter pane.
you also can get a free G9 shape which is just a shape
the FBX does have the clothing and hair
so you could actually import that and use the transfer utility I suppose
Just a heads up for those who use the extra shop filters bookmarklet: there's a new version available which works with the updated site!

I don't know what holidays are around, but this sale is amazing. Unlike Christmas sales where you have to buy every day to maintain the discount, this one has incredibly low prices. While only one wishlist item gets the maximum discount each day, it's more than enough. This isn't a month I usually shop, but given my membership is expiring soon and I have some urgently needed items, I bought some good stuff. This sale is perfect for me, especially since I won't be going on a shopping spree for a long time, mainly because my 1TB SSD is full and I've had to delete some rarely used items to install new ones. And 2TB SSDs are ridiculously expensive; they cost me $300 here. Imagine how much better stuff I could buy at DAZ!
So once more for the slow person, the fbx includes everything shown and the duf is a shape-only bare human figure?
So,DAZ is making a big push to get into the game figure business again? Is this the third or fourth time they've done this now, I've knd of lost track, though several of those were done via different sites IIRC. Also of interest, I see that the store search engine now includes options for Blender and obj products, though none currently show up in the store.
Yes, both FBX and GLB are baked in. DUF is base character only
see https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/9564726/#Comment_9564726
where I play with mine
duf just a character morph but FBX clothes and hair all can be bought, I found all but one in store (I own none of them)
What I want to know is what is done to simplify them? Are they just SubD = 1 by default?
When you DUF is base character, does that mean not evey a skin texture? Eyes?
pick up the 2 freebies and look yourself
much easier than everyone trying to explain it and costs nothing
It was indded an error, interactive license option has now been added to those products.
Thanks @WendyLuvzCats and @Frank0314 for the info.
Yeah, I just logged in and discovered. I loved being able to filter out Figures so that I could concentrate on other stuff. No more though.
Every G9 figure you own slows down every figure you load into Daz. I've stopped accepting these free gifts because of that. And while I could just not install them. I could just not engage with them in any way whatsoever as well.
It only costs nothing if my time is worthless.
Thanks for your help.
There’s a new version of the filters which works.
Hey. 4 hour flash blink sale on Lyoness. 2 items for 2.99. Code: YES_LYONESS
I use her Bramble 8 all time and hope there's a Bramble 9 one day.
Cool, and I didn't have a cart to dump as I was still in the Daz+ stage of filling it. :)
AFAIK I have not detected this. Please elaborate
It is because every figure you install has associated morphs. When Daz Studio loads a character, EVERY morph of that generation of character is loaded at that time, so Daz Studio can resolve dependencies.
So, I should probably get rid of the character morphs I will never use, right? Ok. But the slowdown only affects the specific generation, so G9 stuff only affects G9, G8 -> G8, etc?
That's my understanding.
Thanks @barbult
