I will be happy to contribute mine - and leave the crunching to you. I prefer my data semi-quantitative; it's one of the things I loved about microbiology.

In other news, I must have done something recently to make The Great & Powerful Oz...I mean...Algorithm happy! It looks like I will have just about the whole Reindeer bundle by tomorrow, with this week's $2.99 offerings. Sunday=Reindeer, Monday=Santa's Sleigh, today=Reindeer poses for Horse 3 & Sleigh. All I need is Reins & poses for Reindeer/Nikolai 9/Sleigh/Reins and am hoping 1 of them pops up tomorrow. Then, I can buy the bundle cheap for the Owned Item discount. So I am
Fingers crossed for your reindeer set!!
I liked the idea of microbio, but the experience was so painful. I was taking an online asynch + lab, but the prof had decided that all she needed to do was upload the (unclear, poorly organized) Powerpoint slides she used for her regular class and tell you to learn what was on all 80+ of them with no recorded lecture and no additional notes. If you wanted a lecture or had issues, you were welcome to sit in on the regular classes. The book was like wading through dried concrete, so no help there. She did eventually acknowledge several students' protests that we had Adult Life conflicts with her regular classes, but it was with a "well, I don't know what to tell you if you don't want the accomodations I'm offering" attitude. Also, it was Jan - May 2020, so labs got cancelled and she had to figure out how to compensate for that on the fly. It was a mess, and extra points because English wasn't her first language. She was doing a lot better than I could in a second language, but still.
She liked to tell students that if you'd scored well on the test, it was your responsibility to tutor your fellow students so they could keep up. Like, no, ma'am, it is YOUR job to teach the material. My responsibility is to my young kids and keeping my head above water in my other two classes, thanks.
But I survived! And learned some interesting stuff. I just feel like I could've gotten a lot more out of it if there'd been quality instruction. And I felt so bad for the younger folk on their first time through college who thought that was all they could expect.
OT!
@SilverGirl I am sure you rooting for me will help me complete that bundle!
I did my college in 1980s & 90s, so everything was 100% in person. I also had only 1 microbiology class. My degree is actually Zoology. I had several semesters of co-op ed internships in micro labs, so mostly a practical education in the field.
ARGH!!! The Advent calendar is malfunctioning! I am dying of the suspense!!!
(Seriously, I was more looking forward to seeing what you got than what I did today!)
I want to see what both of us get.
@FJM1977 You're lucky! You got yours! A lot of us are still getting no items in our calendars.
Agreed! I'm interested to see what all of us get.
Got a big fat OR
Yeah, except for this October when I ended up losing out on a cool discount when I fell asleep while assembling a cart, I have been pretty lucky with DAZ, I even got that Ceramic Animal!
Hopefully the issues get sorted so people can get their items!
You got the mystical ceramic mouse-rabbit? You are lucky! Thank you. We hope so, too!
That's the one! It was there for a few hours in the list of debut new items and then it vanished. You'd be amazed how spun up some people are about not getting it, too. So, it's pretty cool that you got it.
For those lucky enough to have the coveted, mystical critter, the Other Site's* freebie section has a texture add-on.
*It's the one that begins with R & ends with "sity." Not the one that has all the X rated stuff. ;)
(Yes, I am still salty about that. Getting over that is on my Super Low Stakes 2026 Resolutions List.)
I have the same problem too!:(
The Advent calendar won't let me choose anything.
This is something that has been reported in the reporting thread (and supposedly fixed now, but people are still having issues). No one in here can do anything about it, and the mods are unlikely to see it here, so if you're still having issues, hop over to the other thread.
Well, it wouldn't be a Daz sale if everything went smoothly, right?
I have only the paid Advent item, so halfway there. (Reported properly.)
That item is - https://www.daz3d.com/barkley-hd-for-genesis-3-male. I did have it wishlisted as it is a cool looking product.
So no more reindeer stuff. :( However, I think Barkley will turn out to be the free option when this glitch is totally fixed. After all, it is G3 & older by far than any of my other paid ones. (SKU 47833 vs high 50,000s) So maybe there's hope for my bundle yet.
If you aren't seeing anything did you press ctr shift r (cmd shift r on a Mac?) to force a refresh? A regular page reload may not work. However, currently the offer is not working correctly as people who should get a freebie as well as the $2.99 item are not. This is being looked into.
Not just me, then. I got a 4xxxx SKU as well, which is way low even for a freebie. Though I did get one of a similar vintage on the 1st of the month, so... bookends, I guess?
In my experience, errors such as this are on the "server side."
We can't fix them by refresh, etc.
My paid one (the only option I have at the moment, no freebie) is SKU 52XXX, so also low for a paid item.
Making the official request for data!
If you tracked your offerings and are so inclined to share with the class, please share:
paid option: high/low SKU and price range
free option: high/low SKU and price range
Please exclude today's data, for the obvious reasons.
On Monday I'll compile what's posted for posterity and ease of future reference.
Free option:
SKU range: 20600 - 83135
Price range: $15.95 - $24.95
All items were from my wishlist. Each day I chose a freebie and unfortunately I did not track the paid option data.
The tracked data does include the last day. The Advent Calendar did not break for me. Maybe I managed to pick up my free option before sth went wrong for others? The last item’s SKU was 80376, so not a low SKU as I’ve seen others report.
The item I got today was a $13.95 g2f texture set, and that with 3 punches - I do own the outfit, and it's better than nothing; but it's a bit disappointing compared to the rest of my advent items. Oh well. On to the new year!
I am missing the free option on the 31 Decemeber Advent Calendar still even though I am a Premier member and 2 checks are currently active. That's OK, I've picked up 28 of 31 freebies from that calendar alone.
I never got a 31st Advent Calendar freebie - I'm in the UK and went off to watch New Year fireworks at 23:30 my time (16:30 Daz Time) then went to be, so maybe I missed out on a fix?
I had 3 Punches at the start of the Holiday Sale and maintained them throughout. Even so I was offered three or four items not on my wishlist - I topped it up twice during the sale and for the final 17 days got something from the wishlist offered.
Freebie options:
SKU Range = 58679 to 83990
Price Range = 15.95 to 24.95
Paid-for options:
SKU Range = 83614 to 92429
Price Range = 14.99 (!) to 34-95 (though this was a complete outlier - it hapens to be in the Outlet Store just now anyway) so apart from that one the highest was 26.95
I checked 1½ hour before turnover, and still only a paid version.
Yeah. I was another who bought items to keep up my “punches” which the page said would ensure a free item on the calendar, which it failed to do on the last day. Daz really needs to fulfil that promise to those who paid to get punches, or it will stand as false advertising. I realize this is a tiny thing, of low value for most individuals, but it is unacceptable to promise something, accept payment for it, and then not deliver—no matter how small.
