Personally, I don’t really care how frequently the Outlet Store refreshes — but I would love to know the schedule so that I don’t waste time checking between refreshes.

Although some people are saying new stuff has been added or replaced in the Outlet store, I can't say I'm convinced. The total number of things in the Outlet store hasn't changed and no notification emails have come out for the Daz Deals add-on for any more items dropping to Outlet store prices (since it opened).

I'm also not quite sure why people are complaining about the Outlet store not changing yet. The comparison to LDs rotating every few hours seems ridiculous when you compare the 4 things every 4 hours to the over 1000 things in the Outlet store. The Outlet store could rotate its stock once a month and you'd still have had more items on offer than a month of LDs (sold at a bigger discount too).

The difference is you could pop onto the Daz Shop and check out the 4 Lightning Deal items whenever you felt like. 1 minute and done unless you see something interesting.

With the outlet, you have to plan to stay for 30 miuntes to scroll and scroll. It isn't something folks are going to do often, especially since searching the store is so difficult when you don't want a figure or figure accessory.

The outlet reduces spur of the moment engagement.

I open my WL and see what's at $1.99, I figure, with a one-month Daz+ sub, I can clear some items off my WL for about $1.20/item or less. I can pick up some other stuff, too. It would be better if I could have got in ont the WL special, but I missed it. Anyway, I like this promo! I sometimes cleaned up on LD, but this is pretty good in a different way. .

And if you checked LDs 4 times a day for a month ("1 minute and done"), that's 120 minutes rather than 30 minutes. And you've only seen about 500 items (instead of the 1200 in the Outlet store). And that's assuming the store refreshes each month; if it refreshes every week then the 30 minute time is the same but you're getting to choose from 10 times as many items.

Referring to FOMO as "spur of the moment engagement" doesn't make it a better business practice. I'll take the sale that offers more items, for cheaper, for a longer period of time to give more people a chance to catch the sale. Also, you can sort by price in your Wishlist (to find Outlet store stuff easier) or do it on the main store page and filter by category types...if you want to make searching the Outlet store for specific things easier.

Logistically and mathmatically this is correct. I'm guessing some people liked the excitement and hope of "oh well, not this batch, maybe the next one" and liked checking back often? So it's more of an emotional thing?

Not one of them personally; I love the outlet store, and I'm pretty sure I got more in it from a day than I have in the 18-ish months of LDs since I started.  Yeah it took me a long time to browse through the whole thing, but it's not a timed "to do" I have to have in the back of my head all day. It's a one-and-done until it shifts. I think I'll just keep an eye on it via my WL, and only go poking through if I need an additional item to round it out to a set of five, or bring up the price on a cart a little to hit the next token mark, or some similar reason.

LD did keep me coming back to the site all day but I didn't spend anything many days

I already bought a few Outlet things and want more

  • kprkpr Posts: 285

A good selection of items, I bought a couple of carts.

I was a little bit miffed that the "Fastgrab" holdover seems to be that neither monthly coupon worked (even when I padded a cart full to $20 of Daz Originals)... Is this intended?

Tip: Worth a repeat that a "full store filter" + Low-High Sort works very well

From the banner at the top of outlet page:

"Unless otherwise specified, no discounts, coupons, tokens, or other deals may be applied to Outlet Store Items."

Can't say I ever bought anything from the 'Lightning Deals'. Virtually every time I checked there wasn't anything I was interested in, so I simply stopped looking. Saved time and money. Regards, Richard.

All right, I'm in. This is worth my reviving Daz+ for.

I can't say yet whether the Outlet Store might make Daz+ a good idea again for me, as well... I'm too near broke from personal expenses and still have some recovering to do.

But I sure see what you mean here. I'm already buying more items these couple of days than I have in a long time anywhere. I see what I like and I grab it, vs putting it on a list and forgetting it exists.

But must remain in control... must remain in control...

My concern relates to how updates will be handled or announced, not how often. If this replaces FastGrab and Lightning Deals that's great, but the DAZ announcment was light on details. This may just be an experiment to see if more sales are generated versus previous method, which is what I suspect, since when they made such a dramatic change and on other big changes they provided much more information than they did this time.

I did go through the first few page over the past couple of days and I did notice items of interest (not on my wishlist) that I may have missed on my scrolling but I doubt it. It was seeing these items that made me think about how DAZ will handle list additions.

My yearly sub is about t expire soon, but this kind of experiment from DAZ is something attractive to me as a buyer and it's stuff like this that's likely to keep me around longer since the bigger yearly sales haven't been very attractive lately. But this outlet stuff for the older products is refreshing and nice.

I wonder if the reason they haven't announced a scheduled rotation is because they're not sure of it themselves? It would make a certain amount of sense to just leave this batch up until the income from it starts to wane, at which point a new batch could be offered with an announcement that day to generate interest. Maybe after a few rounds they'd get a feel for how long that would take (2 weeks? a month? three months?) and do something more scheduled from there, but I could see why they might want to see how it plays out in the field before they commit.

  • drucdruc Posts: 472

LD were no good to me. I work full time and sleep each day and have other commitments so I would, maybe, check LD once a week. I would more than likely check my WL once a day and not even look at the store, unless I was looking for a particular item.

To me, the Outlet store works better and as I never altered my Daz+ I have more than 12 months of subscription left so all items in the Outlet store are half price. I just get one for free if I buy 5.

The outlet store hasn't changed, I think. It would be good to know when it's rotating items.

My best guess after it didn't rotate the first day was either "weekly" or "monthly", so if there's anything in there you've got to have, I wouldn't count on it being there after the weekend is over.

    But that is pure guess.

So here we go again, trying to create as much FOMO as possible with giving out too little information ... I really really hate this behaviour, the outlet store is such a neat idea. Why do you have to squeeze everything for all it's worth, DAZ?

Just refreshed the outlet store and don't see any changes, so it looks like this won't be a daily thing.

To me it looked as if a couple items were in the outlet today that weren't in there yesterday, because I bought Torment 8.1 today, and if had I seen him yesterday, I would have bought him then already. Might be that I'm wrong, though.

I like that Outlet idea. Even though not a single of those 72 products in my wishlist is in that Outlet list, I still managed to find five old and two new items to buy yesterday and today. That's a lot more than what I found in the LDs in the last month(s) wink

Seems I was wrong with that statement above, as for the last two days I haven't seen any new products added to the Outlet Store.

I was right though with the "none of my 72 wishlisted products are in the Outlet Store". So no more products bought by me now.

Well I looked through the whole outlet store and there were only 4 things that I wanted, so if it doesn't change frequently, it's not very interesting to me. With the lightning deals and fast grab there was potential of finding new deals much more often. That's why it's a disappointment to me.

I have to admit, I don't view this as FOMO. It's more like, "Now is the time." And I've had the time to consider it properly because it didn't change in the blink of an eye. As it is, I have a pile of stuff in my WL that I would like to have and haven't got because other items had the priority, the stars did not align, etc. Now there is a window to get the stuff. It's a big enough window for me to think clearly.  And since I have participated so minimally in sales from Feb to now, it's not a budget issue. So, cheers to it! When it changes, we'll see what changes. And if I miss some items this time around, it's likely they'll come around again - They always do!

I can understand that. I suspect items will change weekly or maybe start to rotate slowly, like fastgrab. As long as I've been shopping here, I've never bought a single fastgrab item. I have been unbelievably lucky at times on LD. Sometimes, the deals have seemed too good to be true. There is one deal I missed and I'm annoyed to this day for not grabbing it. Now, we're on to the outlet store. I think it's a brilliant idea. The item selection and the price point both feel pretty good. We'll have to see how it develops.

Maybe I am missing it, daz+/premier members are supposed to get half off, to me that would mean $.99 to $1. They don't show up in my cart that way. They are $1.99 each and 5 of them for $1.80 each. They only do the $1.80 for the first 5, any more than that and the rest stays at $1.99. Haven't tried the $3.99 items.

The half-price discount is already applied on product pages when you're a member, not in the cart. The products you see at $1.99 are the ones a non-member will see at $3.99.

Thank you. I took those prices as the regular prices for vintage and recent for everyone and members got half off that. Anyone know why if you have 10 items in the cart, only the 1st 5 drop in price? I would think that every set of 5 would change.

A lot of people have been confused. I think the problem is that the $1.99 half-price for the "recent" items is the same as the full price for the vintage.

The feature where only the first 5 get the price drop has been addressed in the sales reporting thread, and confirmed that it's intentional. The description on the banner could definitely be worded better, but... welcome to Daz. It's a day that ends in -y.

As to the why, I'm guessing it's to incentivise further spending for token generation.

However, worth noting that it's the first five of /each/, so you can have 10 itmes in your cart and still have all of them discounted if they're half-and-half from the two categories.

Only the first 5 items in each category will be discounted further.

If you want to buy 10 items from the same pool (the 1.99 one or the 0.99), you need to make to purchase, one for the five first items, one for the last five items.

Thanks. I will just open tabs for all the items i like and just add 5 at a time and make multiple transactions.
