do you have to buy a group of 5 over and over or can you just buy 15 or 25 or something?
I got a little giddy and gobbled up 25 yesterday in carts of 5 and 10. My carts of 10 = 5 recent + 5 vintage. So, maybe.
[edit=1] Just tested. 10 of a kind gets me a bonus on 5 only. [/edit]
I'll add my voice in favor of putting category filters on sale pages, please. I also hope that finding fresh changes to the outlet won't require digging through 20-odd pages to play "spot the difference" every time.

I like the symbol, but it's not on all the outlet store items. Error in coding? Some criteria I don't understand?
Looking through some of the Friday Freebie list today, I could swear some of those were on the outlet store yesterday... specifically a few that I hadn't seen before and added to my WL with the intent of a later cart.
(Not a complaint, just an observation.)
Looking at the price timeline from Daz Deals, no, none of them went down to 1.99 or 0.99 yesterday.
Agreed. I also think it is well named. It needs a mascot! Revolve the product mix each week, maybe on Mondays or Tuesdays would be most excellent.
Yesterday was my big buy. I did it at 5 items for $1.80 each and added a $1.99 item or a couple of $0.99 items to push it over $10 and earn a token.
The Christmas earrings were in the outlet selection when I looked yesterday.
i like the idea of this outlet store, however, the offerings are pretty much stuff I've passed on over time. I did buy 5 this morning to up my recovered tokens to 8. I now have 5 more in cart and will check out in a bit
As of yesterday, when I had a group of 10 recent, the second 5 were still $1.99 (I have premiere), not $1.80 like the first 5. Since no sales stack with them, just do 5 per cart and immediately checking out doesn't do any harm.
thanks to all that answered this question ..yeah, I ended up buying 2 sections of 5.
There is however a minor nuisance that while tokens may not affect their own price, carts that have just clusters of five of these generally come to fairly poor values to build up tokens to use on other things. (Although I guess how good/bad the totals come to depends on the exact combinations of which age of items and your membership tier)
I can see that their pricing is probably going to benefit a fair bit from the "hey, get them to put a couple of these in their cart to roll them over to the next token!" idea... but if you want to get a lot of these, the fact you can't stack multiple clusters of five means you can't efficiently build up tokens with a big order of them.
this is true. I needed %0.98 to get another token, so the 0.99 worked great, but then I saw a $1.99 item that I liked way better ..so I bought it. Mission accomplished but DAZ got me got an extra buck
The office eats steak tonight!!!
My only complaint about the outlet store (and sales pages in general) is that there still isn't a way to sort content by type. So if I want to say, only look at environemnts, I have to scroll through everything still.
You have described the main complaint about the entire DAZ store. Incredibly limited sorting and filtering tools and having to subscribe to a 3rd party add-on just to have some basic filtering (DAZ Deals).
.....I just grabbed a new Daz+ item to make up the difference and was surprised to get an extra 84¢ discount on that.
"Save Extra with the Daz Outlet Store
Get an extra 10% off* your cart with any Outlet Store item
Or an extra 20% off* your cart with any 5 or more Outlet Store items"
If you are daz+ or premium the prices are at 0,99 to 1,99 which makes it possible to e.g. go to the environments section and sort there low to high and you instantly cget to see the outlet stuff. (I used firefox browser).
...so that explains it, thanks.
At this stage I am 100% sure this is by design. If they added filtering to sales people would just filter out a chunk of items they want you look at before you get there. Same tactics are used in stores to put a high traffic areas next to things you want to promote.
Thanks for pointing that out. Just used it to get 20% off a giftcard.
I seem to be getting 5*1.80=9, when it should be 8.
Edit: thery are all recent, so 9 is right.
I'm mostly keeping a look-out for G9 stuff.
The outlet store doesn't do it, but the main store page does. Sort by low price to high and then environment. Free, then outlet store show first.
Thanks to whoever gave the notice of the 20% discount that also applies to gift cards. Unfortunately, the day before yesterday I didn't understand it and I bought a $25 gift card just to buy items at the outlet, but I paid for it in full because I then bought the items (5 fairly new items, at 1.99 price for DAZ+) with another separate cart. Today to "recover" I bought another $25 gift card together with 5 items from the outlet (a group of 5 slightly older, but still good, items at 0.99) and the gift card went down to $20. So I spent $24 for a $25 gift card + 5 items. I am satisfied with today's purchase, even if the fact of having purchased an additional gift card, not planned, will force me to save on purchases and not pay more money into the DAZ store for a while, but with the credit from the newly purchased gifts and the outlet I can buy some things in the near future.
The Outlet idea seems excellent for DAZ, because I had not planned to buy anything specific and was waiting to see some items that would particularly catch my eye, but the outlet made me spend $50 on two gift cards.
As for the rotation, today I seem to have noticed some new items that I did not remember having seen in the previous days, but I could be wrong. I hope that the outlet remains permanent and is not just temporary and has an adequate rotation, such as 1 or 2 times a week,
So far I'm not impressed with the outlet store. I got the 3 or 4 things in there that I actually wanted and nothing new has shown up since they started it. Daz if you're listening I would check lightning deals multiple times a day and the fast grab every day. So far it seems I don't need to look at the outlet store anymore, maybe I'll check once a week and see if anything changes?
One problem I can see happening with the store is DAZ adding a few items as "new" to the outlet store without any indication of their being added. That would be making the assumption that visitors are prepared to scroll over 1600 items on a regular basis to see if something "new", that is not on their wiishlist, caught their eye.
This is not a problem for your wishlist listed items since you can do a % discount or low-price sort.
Although some people are saying new stuff has been added or replaced in the Outlet store, I can't say I'm convinced. The total number of things in the Outlet store hasn't changed and no notification emails have come out for the Daz Deals add-on for any more items dropping to Outlet store prices (since it opened).
I'm also not quite sure why people are complaining about the Outlet store not changing yet. The comparison to LDs rotating every few hours seems ridiculous when you compare the 4 things every 4 hours to the over 1000 things in the Outlet store. The Outlet store could rotate its stock once a month and you'd still have had more items on offer than a month of LDs (sold at a bigger discount too).
