this is a huge Japanese castle with interiors:

I recently rejoined the DAZ+ Membership with the Annual option. Then I went to the Outlet store and found a bunch of stuff very cheap.

I like "oddball" stuff like Bad Santa, Fred 8.1 (with the Talk Show), Chuck, Bennet, Comic Villain (Harley Quinn,) etc.

I gleefully installed it all and went to do some renders. Oh my gosh, nothing has changed. I had a hard time finding my new purchases.

I found some. Did this render of Fred in a Talk Show.

@Torquinox: I didn't mean your criticism was wrong, the top tier missing is of course a disappointment, and the assets never please everybody, still, I felt, this positive aspect got overlooked: this QG is not bad for newcomers - they can get some high quality items for a fantastic price. Maybe you could tell what kind of products you are missing, and who knows, it might be noticed.

I'm actually liking the current QG and Outlet offerings. I've had some weeks where nothing from my wishlist shows up, but the current Outlet especially has lots of things that I'm going to make sure to buy before the end of the 25 Year sale

There are a couple of items I think I'll get.

The G3M/F Enchanted Gala looks ideal for an image I want to do. It's really above my price bracket at the moment, but the G3M Tuxedo is exactly what I need to replace a freebie G1 one I am currently using. The G1 Tux is by Wilmap, and it is good, but it's 4 generations earlier than the character I'm using it on, and Autofit has rather shrinkwrapped the suit on the character, & I'm not too happy about my Iray materials for it, either. So, short of modelling my own (which I can't), it's buy something [Urgh, horrible concept].

I love Divinity Skies Rapture 1 & Divinity Skies Rapture 2. Just need to come up with/find an environment idea that can show it off.

I don't know why, but I love Magix_101's V3 face jewellery. The latest to come on offer is Destiny Jewels . These convert well to Iray, and I used the Celestial Jewels here on V3 in september:

    Regards,

    Richard

I think QG has some very impressive products, only that most of us already own them (premier prices):

    https://www.daz3d.com/tool-mega-pack 0,79 (props)

    https://www.daz3d.com/mini-scenes-teen-haven 0,79 (props)

    https://www.daz3d.com/bw-dforce-farah-hijab-outfit-for-genesis-9-8-and-81-females 1,59 (clothing)

    https://www.daz3d.com/rogue-elf-outfit-for-genesis-8-and-81-males 1,59 (fantasy clothing)

    https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-crow-outfit-for-genesis-8-and-81-females 1,59 (fantasy clothing)

    https://www.daz3d.com/m3d-balding-hair-styles-for-genesis-9 1,59 (hair)

    https://www.daz3d.com/twists-bun-for-genesis-9 1,59 (hair)

https://www.daz3d.com/curly-top-updo-hair-for-genesis-9 2,79 (IMO one of the most beautiful hairs in the shop)

    https://www.daz3d.com/oso-elder-hd-for-genesis-9 2,79 (character)

    https://www.daz3d.com/the-da-daz-horse-3-pro-material-set 2,79 (for DAZ Horse 3)

    https://www.daz3d.com/mega-terrain-highlands 2,79 (environment)

Even if they are not at $0,79, for what you get  it is a fantastic price, if you are on premier!

Considering that neither DAZ+ nor Premier are have any have some real value for me ('cause I don't use G9 and probably have bought all DO items that interest me (zero in my wishlist)) the prices are of course higher for me. The only "must buy" (for me) item in that list already got bought by me in the past and there's only two "might buy" items in that list.

So yeah, for someone who's new(er) to the hobby the offers probably are tempting, but for me G9 stuff, "static" furniture sets and "I have something like that already" items are the majority of the items in the outlet store. Rarely something appears that is in my wishlist and then often for a higher price than in some previous sales.

Glad that others like the outlet store, though. And once in a while there's something in it, that is interesting for me, too.

I've encountered an unpleasant example of my memory problems. I thought I'd bought a bunch of great stuff.

It appears I've bought at least one item twice.

Well I've reached my limit for the month, at any rate.

I really like QG and OS. I find there are many very good items at good prices. This week in particular, I found some of the items that had been on my wish list for a long time and I was finally able to get them. Some are newer and some are older, but they are all quality. I think it's a great thing not only for those who are new to DAZ, but also for those who are not exactly new to it like me. I already had many items, but I was able to buy many others because they are in the outlet, otherwise I would have had to give up or wait. This has brought more joy to my favorite hobby. Now I'm waiting for some of the ones I missed on the first go-around to return to the outlet.

You're well within 30 days, right, so you can return it?

why is the Quick Grab blank every Monday morning. Does DAZ have a committeee meeting over coffee when they come in on Monday morning to decide what will go into the QG?  Its kinda strange. How many sales do they miss?

This! They could leave the past QG products as last chance, if it takes longer. I wonder, why they instead leave it blank.

My guess is that it's some weird coding issue between DAZ midnight and DAZ midday, as those products usually appear around DAZ midday.

Given that it often pops up 12 hours after changeover, my running theory is that there's something in the code that has the week's selection timing out at the correct time, but the new stuff is set to activate at 12:00 PM instead AM. For those times it's come on earlier, maybe somebody goes in there and shakes it loose for the week, but nobody's fixing the root cause?

Granted it's just a theory, but it does seem a little odd how many times it's exactly 12 hours.

ETA: heh, @joanna beat me to it -- faster on hitting post than I was!

Well, if we're right, maybe one of these weeks someone will go in there and  type the right number in the code.

    A person can dream, right?

Maybe they should just change to a 24 hour clock as other parts of the world.

Also possible that they are, and whomever typed it in just isn't thinking in 24-hour clock. If they're thinking 1200 = midnight, and the computer thinks 1200 = noon....

More importantly, we continue to see an absence of top tier items in qg - nothing above the $3.99 point (before member discount). Oh well...

I can honestly say that I'm not disappointed by the fact that the special discount store doesn't have more expensive stuff in it. The times when I did see stuff in there for $9.99 (before member discount), I had no interest in buying it. I feel confident that I'll be able to get that stuff for less than 10 dollars using tokens and discount codes and sales at some point.

Really OS only makes sense for me with a membership and with the discounts and store credit offers floated in this sale, actually paying $10 is a lot for an OS item. Also I can see why Daz might not want to put bigger ticket items in the qg. Even so, the absence is noticeable. All I can say about it.

These days I stick to the lowest tier, with the second tier as something I'll consider depending on what it is. Anything higher pretty much has to be a bundle I want. So this selection trend works out well for me personally, but I will still vote in favor of more diversity in price points so that everyone can have fun.

  • I have gotten some nice things out of the mid tiers but usually stick to the lowest. Out of the highest tier, I have only bought a couple of alternate shapes because I wanted the shapes & wasn't interested in the rest of the add-on bundle. But I agree with @SilverGirl that more price points makes it more fun for all.

Quickgrab: From the products I already owned I most liked https://www.daz3d.com/low-loose-updo-hair-for-genesis-9

and from the products I bought I most liked https://www.daz3d.com/the-olde-victorian-theater.

"Swim outfit"... because doesn't everyone go swimming in heels?

I mean, okay, most swimsuits on this site are absurd. I expect that at this point. But.... high heeled shoes?? To the beach??? REALLY???

I have an acquaintance like that... :X Not sure about the beach, but the hotel pool is definitely a fair game for heels, and her "swimming" attire is even more "fashionable."

But surely you do lots of beauty pageant scenes? The women wear heels in the swimsuit competition. Well, they did in the 1970s.

Not to change the subject, I can't help but notice that qg is populated entirely at $3.99 and below - still no high end or bigger bundles. And member festival actually did end this morning. Oh well...

high heels and swimsuits may well be a more interesting topic for discussion.

I can honestly say the closest I've ever gotten to watching a beauty pageant was the movie Miss Congeniality, ages ago, because I think Sandra Bullock is awesome. (And I don't remember much about it aside form Sandra Bullock being awesome.)

But the promos are in the sand. That seems like a recipe for an ankle injury.

Maybe I'm just not enough of a woman to pull it off. =P

Color me baffled. But then, the last time I owned a swimsuit, I was 14 and forced to wear it for swim class. (Though hey, it was an upgrade from the ones the school provided the previous years, which I'm reasonably certain dated to when it was built about 25 years previous.)
