    AAAARRRRGGHHH!

So I placed my order, including that useless (to me) Femme Furins, because the sale was ending Sunday night and I didn't want to lose the discounts. So what happens? Daz extends the weekend sale one more day and offers a much better Daily Mind Blower, Posh Comfort, that I would have gladly waited for. Ah, well. I'm done for the month, unless there's a killer catch up sale.

I gave Femme Furins a miss but have got Posh Comfort in my cart because I've been looking around for a while for a simple low poly window with fitted curtains that could frame what's beyond. However, a closer look reveals that the curtains would frame the candlestick on the wall(!) instead and the windows are completely bare. Colour me baffled :) I'll probably give this one a miss too.

The curtains are seperate props; so maybe you coud use them around the windows instead.

Thanks. I did think of that and still might, but curtains ought to be around windows by default to my mind and I don't like buying something knowing that I'm going to have to faff around with it to make it work for me before I even start. It also makes me wonder what less obvious drawbacks (for me) that the product might be hiding.

I would open an Support ticket and ask if you can exchange the two Items, If you did not have anything in yesterdays cart that is no longer available today, I'm sure it should not be a big issue.

    Done. Thank you.

With the extra 15% off for the catalogs, after the 50% off if you buy both bundles, that would be what percent?

100.00 x 50%= 50.00 x 15%= -7.50 so that is $42.50 (out of 100.00 for the 100%) so 100-42.50 is 57.50. Am I correct then that you're getting a discount of 57.50%?  That's not worth buying TWO bundles for a 57.50% discount off catalogs IMO. Did I do this right? (Late at night, tired.)

EDIT: And of course the catalogs aren't discounting correctly, not giving even the half off. Sapphire Hair (24.95 is doing 21.21 in cart with both bundles in the cart. Should be half off AND 15%.)

When I look at all the maths in the posts on this thread my brain sees more or less what it does when I look at one of those Asian spammer post titles. I'm so useless at maths that I might as well be looking at a Russian knitting pattern. I hate the extreme mental acrobatics involved in shopping here - what would really be 'mad' enough to fly in the face of what passes for sanity in this place would be a simple offer that says 'This item usually costs $X, but today it costs $Y!'. Just too crazy, probably :)

It's funny because at the start of the month people were happy because the sale was simple (but not so many great deals.) Now there are some amazing deals but it takes many purchases and several accounting agencies to find them.

The xmas punch sale really was better (and simpler, as mad as that is!)

But you couldn't return the punch sale items - with MM, you can (and some people who accidentally bought RDNA items here again are quite happy about that!)

But if you return an item which is generating discounts for other items you may not get much in return because you lose the discounts you got for the dependent items. That's the downside with this kind of sales.

well I don't want to complain, but my DAZ experience could be vastly improved if every time I find myself looking at a category that's completely empty due to 'hide items I own' the site would display a big thumbs up saying something like: 'Well, that just means you are awesome!' wink

That's why I sent in a trouble ticket asking to swap. The discounts would be the same, as they are both Daily Mind Blowers.

    Some grand post-apocalyptic stuff today.

BTW, for anyone who wants realism in an imaginary post-apocalyptic world  laugh , there is a physical fact that's usually ignored. Gasoline only lasts two years. Airplane fuel lasts about twenty. So unless there's a refinery around most ground vehicles will become inoperative after the earliest stages.

I pretty much ignore it myself (though I've done a minimal number of renders in this genre) so this is just a little info.

Wow, that's interesting - didn't know that, thanks.

I like how practical most of the outfits are, and Aeon Soul poses are always welcome.

Well, for a warm and fuzzy,  just go to your email to get forum post notifications and now you can revel in the "Have a nice day!" they've suddenly starting tacking onto each of those.

And BTW, "You are awesome!"   (I gotcha covered for today.)

Oh that really is new? I thought I was going mad because I can't stop reading it and wondered if I'd just never noticed it before.

Nice stuff, but I don't need Post Apocalyptic stuff at the moment, so it is a pass for me, even thought the 10% Gift card looks nice...

Yeah, it's kind of funny how few apocalypse stories involve bicycles, which are way more realisticly useful...

I believe it's possible to rework some vehicles for ethanol, which can be more feasibly made in a postapoc setting (I think the MMO Fallen Earth does this -- you can build vehicles and ethanol stills, though a lot of people end up riding horses)

Personally, the postapoc content being Genesis 3 (and already having a fair amount of similar stuff) is a life saver. Trying to save my money for a few big upcoming releases. Heh.

Just noticed the Post Apocalypse Bundle's poses are missing (which, in true "Daz go home, you're drunk" fashion, give a 404). I was wondering if, given how expensive it is, it may be missing other things--it is wishful thinking, of course, but I'd be much more willing to bite the figurative bullet if the Rough Rider Outfit was featured, instead of the I-wanna-die-from-skin-cancer Wastelander for G3F. Geeze, talk about genre unsavvy...

  • RenomistaRenomista Posts: 921

They did deliver approx. 70% of the Bundles in this MM (and all with more than 3 Items) incorrectly.

This is really a shame. Having such Problems once is ok. Having such Problems twice is embarrasing but happens. But having them over and over again....

Also took more than half a day in most cases to fix it.

  • The madness goes on... A sale that makes sense ---- 30% discount when you buy 1 content item, 40% discount when you buy 2 content items, 50% discount when you buy 3 content items, etc.

Buying something you don't want for the priviledge to buy something you do want at a discount is "March Madness".

I would like to see a sale on Platinum plus memberships, and a return to sanity.  LOL

I read one book where they mostly got around on foot...but by that time it was to dangerous to go much of anywhere. Except they lived at an old small airfield and he had a piper cub or a cessna to use when necessary.

I read another where they used horses to pull an old pickup. Engine removed to cut down on weight.

You know, using a pickup truck as a carriage makes a lot of sense. It's rugged, has suspension, an old one doesn't have power steering (I'm not sure how well a power steering system would work when everything is broken down and you can't replace fluids), and many of the parts are presumably stuff you could scavenge. I wonder about tires, though. Hmm. Maybe rig tractor tires somehow?

Compare that to rapidly trying to learn enough woodworking and carpentry to assemble a decent carriage from wood.

Well.....gasoline CAN last longer.  A lot of how long various hydrocarbon fuels can last depends on the storage medium.  Aviation fuel is usually stored differently than regular gasoline, which is part of why it has a longer 'shelf life.'  Normal hydrocarbons like Gasoline (which is primarily octane, but also contains heptane, nonane, decane, hexane, and traces of others) if properly stored can last pretty much indefinitely.  Has to be kept cool, dark, and stored under inert gas pressure in a non-reactive container.  It's really expensive to store it that way, though, and since it is usually used WAY faster than that, they don't bother with all the extra precautions.

It will separate into layers of the various fractions if left still long enough.....but it can take years.

Yes now they do, but they were not maybe 45 minutes ago when I last checked...

There are 18762 items in the DAZ store. 8008 of them are in the "Even More Madness" section today. That's approximately 85.36404% of 50% of the store available @ at least 55% off. Of course, once you add in the Newly, the Still, the Related and the (grammatically bereft) Mad Artists Catalogs, that's even-more-point-eleventy-two percent of the store available at some knock down rate or another. But I haven't got time to figure out that latter figure for real, because I've just worked a thirteen and a half hour day (56.25%). So...

...how the hell do I sort through 8000+ items in the minus 38 minutes before I go to bed? That's a West Point pillow fight of choice slapping me upside the head. I am assaulted by freedom and plenty. It's all your fault DAZ_Steve. Just what are you guys doing over there in Salt Lake City?

Oh that reminds me: I haven't seen 4blueeyes as a featured PA in this half of March Madness yet, or am I dreaming? There were a couple of items put out the last few days that were made by this PA, but I didn't see him/her listed as a featured PA?
