A full price item that you actually want and will use all the time is much more of a bargain than three half price items you'll rarely use. The two items I've been waiting for would make enough of a difference to my workflow to be worth paying for for me, which is more than can be said for yet more scantily clad maidens or another take on an apartment or bathroom, even at half price.
Yeah I mean you could buy the old ones and learn to make updated textures yourself etc. and several other methods. It's just a shame that Daz Studio customers remain limited in options outside of creating skimpy pinups. There have been some nice outfits here and there lately (if you're making a post apocalyptic thing you have it pretty good right now) but still a lot of cornerstones missing.
* With the purchase of a new item and at least one other thing.
MM was great for new item discounts, but for older content there have been numerous times this year alone with much better offers than "over 50%!" (which wasn't over 50% unless you bought a specific item that day and/or had bought a specific pro bundle the month before.) There were some nice deals to get the Genesis 3 basic morphs and V7 for those that hadn't already been supporting Genesis 3 with their purchases, too, which is great - not so great for those that actually had been buying them already, but sales seem to do that quite often lately.
BillyT has oa firefighter for M4 here in and it's on sale right now. http://www.daz3d.com/m4-fire-fighters-set Here it is refitted for G2M.
Only two items in the MM sale are needed to secure the 50% discount. Which today is nearly anything. You could buy a $2500 item for half price plus a nice model of a lime at less than a buck fifty.
Sure it makes sense to wait for a better deal on less urgent stuff, but 50% is better than a kick in the knackers on a desired PA item that rarely lands in a sale. But keep moaning. DAZ often seems to respond by making new offers.
DAZ, your sale sucks and your office decor is appalling.
I am new to DAZ so this is my first March Madness, I have spent way more than I can afford. I am allready addicted to DAZ 3D and I find that theese constant sales doesn't make it any easier to resist buying stuff
I have a problem and I don't know where to post it, so sorry if this is the wrong thread. Yesterday I bought (along with some other stuff) the DJ Remixed outfit: http://www.daz3d.com/dj-remixed for Genesis 2 female.
I always use Genesis 3, but since I learned that clothes can be made to fit Genesis 3 if you select what figure the clothing part is supposed to fit ( and I have also bought Fit control for Genesis 3)
I have begun to buy some clothes ment for Gen 2 also. Top and jeans work good, but the boots doesn't, the toes
points downwards and the feet sticks out when I fit them to my character. Some time ago I bought a hairtyle made for Victoria 4, and was adviced not to fit it to the character but to parent it to the head. I thought I try this trick
on the boots, I have tried the thighs, shins but they wont follow the model. I would appeciate some advice in this, I love the outfit and the boots is an important part of it, plus I have wery few shoe models.
Howdy Carina, take a look at "Wear Them All"
http://www.daz3d.com/wear-them-all-autofitting-clones-and-clothing-smoothers-for-genesis-3-female-s
It might help with your issues. There's one for the G3M figures, too. And they're on sale, yay....!
Thanks for the advice!
I just took a look at it and I can't find anything about fitting Genesis 2 clothes to Genesis 3, do you think it will work anyway?
if so, how do I use this? when I have installed it, will it work just like the normal autofitting?
I think G3Female already has a "clone" for G2Female, which is why that isn't listed in the product. I'm rather new to all this myself, so I'm afraid it's best if someone else explains how it works. Maybe start a specific post?
Ok, I understand. Thanks for trying to help! I will start a new thread about this, maybe that's better.
I think this is a key point, for people like you (and me) who are new to Daz and just now building up a good collection of figures, poses, clothing and the like, this sale has been fantastic. If you've already got a lot of stuff and are looking for specific items, then it may not be that big of a deal. Again as with everything in life, what is considered to be great, is often subjective.
I think it's great too, I love going online and see what's on sale today
, and I don't have lots of stuff even if I have bought a lot there's very many things I need. What I was complaining about is my own bad self disipline, to buy more than I can afford, but that's
my own fault ofcourse. I love sales
, there's nothing wrong with that.
DAZ has developed a special store algorithm that detects when I buy something at 50% off, then offers it at 65% off within three days. So long as you avoid the things I'm buying, you'll be fine. ;-)
Exactly this!
In most of those cases a nice mail to customer support sorts out this kind of annoyances and you get the remaining 15% payed back as store credit
That's nice to know, but I was joshing. I tend to be stoical about little disappointments like that. I was happy with the deal at 50%, so if it emerges at 65% for other folks that's great for them. I will bear what you said in mind if I buy that $2500 item, though... ;-)
Now we just need to bribe you to buy things on our wishlists. If enough people chip in you get the product for free and we get it at 65% off three days later. Everyone wins!
The algorithm can detect that behaviour. Just as you're all about to buy, the item/s are withdrawn from the sale as faulty. I get the faulty item and the no-return clause that was quietly slipped in. Then I have to pay you lot back.
I just can't handle these gimmicky sales. My first priority is to find stuff I want most from my wishlist. I get totally lost when they place all these conditions and exceptions.
I've got the top items that I really need in my cart. Then I watch the price on those and when I have funds and price looks good, I buy what I can and dump the rest out. Then re-add what I hadn't been able to buy to the cart and wait till funds go up again.
When I've emptied my cart, I go through my wishlist again and pick some items that are now in the "need" category and the proccess starts over LOL.
So I guess it's still March.
New chef outfit for G2M looks nice and practical. And ..another living room? Admittedly I do like this one better but I already spent my money yesterday thinking the March sale would end with March, ah well.
Oh that marketing. Gave me a damn heart attack.
April 1st?
*Grin*
Oh I knew it was April 1st, but there is literally a V8 in there. Clever marketing as well. ;)
Ooh, that was nicely played. Still not paying for it though.
All the new MM items for the last couple of days have been DAZ Originals. If this is DAZ keeping the sale going a bit longer, that's really going to help some folks on strict pay days and careful monthly budgeting.
Yes the free V8 is really nice...
But honestly Marketing: The Second Standard Living Room Set as DMB within 3 Days? Are you kidding?
The Glamour Outfit would have been a worthy DMB
Peter: Mec4D stated in her Shader Pack Thread that getting mixed up into the Catchup Sales with the releases is not a good thing for the Sale Numbers. So It could be that they use DOs to not upet the PAs. There was also some hints that the MM might continue into next weeks but it was all very vague...
I even put it in my cart and added a still mad item - but it didn't change to zero dollars
That's the real April Fool's. ;-)
Yes I have the same problem. I added Riverwillow, wich is an "old still mad" but as today all still mad are back to still mad status it should work...
