I think your second suggestion / question is a good one for sure. I asked about my cart and was told that that more than likely it would NOT be brought over. Part of the issue is that not all vendor artists will come to DAZ so moving a cart and wishlist over here might be a bit too much work for the behind the scenes folks getting all this done.
Not that I am aware of, especially the newer ones Poser uses a different form of weightmapping, this is if you mean the figures that are released as part of Poser, personally I've never felt any need for them, I find them all rather ugly and difficult to use. I haven't even got the latest male for Poser Pro11, from what I saw there didn't seem any point.
I know for sure that this character from over at content paradise works just fine in Daz

Technical Details
This is a completely new and unique character that is specially designed for Poser Pro. It uses
the latest shader features like normal mapping and displacement mapping to enhance the
model detail. The package also includes material that is compatible to be used with Poser 5 to
7. The mesh was hand built by following the right methods for poorer edge loops. The
normal, bump and height maps were calculated from a 6 million triangle voxel surface mesh
out of Clay Tools. This method enables a quick working and preview in Poser while
preserving the details from the high polygon version that would blow the memory constraints.
The creature has three arms with two joints on each side of the torso section. Its hands have
two fingers with tree bone segments and on thumb with two bone segments.
The mesh contains two materials, one for the skin and one for the eyes. It has 57800 triangles
and 109 bones.

Okay, thanks for confirming. People can carry on complaining about Daz not making all of their figures to work directly in Poser now~
Anything made for Poser 7 or earlier should work fine in DS, I am not sure about Poser 8.
I was just thinking how odd it was that I see endless complaints about various Daz figures not working in Poser properly and how dare they not be fully supporting their 10 year old figures, yet I've never seen anyone posting about Daz/Poser making the effort to support the new Poser figures.
I'm starting to think a lot of the complaints and worries may not be fully founded upon evidence.
I'd love to speed up time so we can see more of how this merger will go already.
As an ex-Poser person (although I did not use it nearly as long as many of the major Poser fans) I can see why they were so upset, having to wait 8 odd years for a V4 replacement (ie Genesis 1) and to find out it would not work in their favourite app. It seems a number of years back now, but I think the wounds were so deep for some, it will take decades to heal. Anyway a subject best avoided unless you enjoy major arguments.
That's because most of the Poser figures that have a reasonable fan base are older ones that DO work in DS such as Miki 2, Terai Yuki 2, while most of the later Poser-native weight mapped figures that come with Poser 8 and later have seen precious little support even from SM's own site. Really, I think the only Poser included figure that's developed any kind of base are Alyson 2 and Ryan 2, and that's in good part due to the stupendous work Blackhearted did in recrafting them as Annastasia and Tyler. People may groan and moan about Genesis 3 and Genesis 2 having come out only 2 years after their predecessors, BUT at least there was a ton of content created for them, whereas the poser figures get switched out just as often and are lucky to get anything at all made for them during the same life cycle...
edit ( not sure what happened. )
Not only those using Poser's weight mapping but those using the new falloff zones introduced in Poser 8 would fail to load correctly.
Poser 8 introduced a dual capsule rigging system, so if it is specifically Poser 8 it will not work in DS or Carrara. You are correct, Poser 7 or earlier.
It also did not help that each new Poser figure were completely incompatible with the previous ones in terms of morphs, clothing and skins, with any help in conversion of clothing only coming from 3rd party apps like Wardrobe Wizard. I don't think anything was done to use older skins on the newer figures, but I could be mistaken.
The Poser Native Figures that got the most support was their G2 (Simon, Sydney, Miki 2, G2 Jessica, etc.) line (Poser 7) and that was due, primarily, to the superb work by the RuntimeDNA artists.
I thought it was around that time which is why I was doubting the others saying it was just a few years ago. I used to go to that site and remembered when it closed, but don't remember the exact date. I was thinking closer to 2000 than 2005, but age takes away memory.
...with a bare belly.
You are correct, they also had the "Great Ruler" line of clothing, which were good as they were reasonably historically accurate. They were from CP, I think, and I was offered them cheap a couple of times, but I passed as I do not use the SM figures at all, and was unsure how well the clothing would convert to the DAZ figures.
That is so awesome I am happy for you RAM

I would say the market is growing, but more in terms of gaming assets than art creation. Unfortunately, gaming assets generally have opposite requirements as compared to art assets -- optimized, low/med poly, etc.
Like I mentioned in a previous post, consolidation of players in *any* fragmented market is nearly always a good thing. Reduces fragmentation, overhead, and so on.
Thanks again scorpio, Syyd took care of it right away and I'm in :)
ok, good to know. thank you!
You're giving me flashbacks to the fancy dress competition at a science fiction convention I was at many moons ago. One of the entrants did a nice little act from the Rocky Horror Vader Show...

*gasp* Does this mean my absolute favorite outfit will get ported over to G2F/G3F???? (http://www.runtimedna.com/Oohlala.html)
That would be one item crossed off my bucket list!!!!
The thought of this almost makes me as excited as that woman from Independance Day who said "God, I hope they bring back Elvis!"

Only if those vendors decide to port it over. If not, than it'll stay a V4 product only.
Couldn't hurt to ask Littlefox at some point.
But in the meantime it seems to transfer ok to G3f with Wear Them All. The shoes are the only part that gives me trouble.
Thanks for the history lesson, everyone.
So basically what I'm understanding is that all the people who think that the current Daz management aren't interested in supporting Poser really shouldn't be blaming Daz for their lack of content.
So, what are you going to become?
I think it's just a matter of path formation.
Groups and products tend to ... snowball and dig a channel for themselves. The more people in a store start buying something more often, the more vendors will make those things, and those people will buy more, and people wanting other things might shake off to some other store, and rinse repeat a thousand times until Store A does a lot of one thing and Store B does a lot of other stuff.
Then you get groups mix and a possible hybrid vigor as populations mix and excite again.
Lady Littlefox posted on facebook that she has a set for M4 in testing here already.
I really am looking forward to new blood. As artists we can try and stretch and grow but we will still be who we are so we tend to produce the same sort of things that we are comfortable with. New folks will shake up the store and shake us up a bit as well so maybe we roll out of a few ruts.
So, when will we start seeing our RDNA stuff in our lists?
